  1. Just for fun after all these heartbreaking losses, imagine that we could trade OTIS,who comes to your mind?I'd take AINGE..What's yours?

I think we would have won the finals straight up. Yesterday Jameer killed the Lakers, as he always does. We just couldn't get our other role players to perform. Had Jameer remembered the meaning of defence and put his hand across Derek's face ,we would have been talking about a ring!

Based off his definitions in the other thread, he probably thinks he's just ignoring this thread ironically. Nope,he is getting ready for the clash!Be careful guys!

    Here's the thing, Orlando..

quote: Originally posted by Cavalier23:From an outside perspective, here's why i think the Magic are "all of a sudden" struggling and not playing very well. It starts and begins with ATTITUDE and its a complete trickle down effect. Last year nobody, possibly outside of Orlando, saw that year coming. No one expected them to have that record and get to the finals. I would guess that as the season started neither did the players. However as the season progressed and Orlando kept winning, confidence amongst the team and fan base started to grow. You all started to see what could be a special season forming. Only, no one else still did. They didn't get the respect maybe they thought they were earning still from the league and/or national media. So as a result last year was played in part with a chip so to speak on their shoulders. They were the underdog everywhere of consequence they went and won a lot of games by sneaking up on people. Either teams didn't believe their system would work over the long haul or they just flat didn't buy into what Orlando was selling. Then what started to happen (and this is for all of you fans) is that you started to sell your souls to the hype that the players, coach, and Orlando media was spoon feeding you. Fast forward to this year where the only problem with everything now is that YOU WERE NEVER THAT GOOD! You played over your heads last year. Teams weren't ready for you and you got unrealistic contributions from almost everyone on that roster. As you can tell by the name i am a Cavs fan, so lets use that series as the example. The perception is that Orlando was just much better than Cleveland. Why is that? BECAUSE YOUR COACH AND THE ARROGANT ORLANDO MEDIA TOLD YOU SO! You bought into the hype and attitude! Look at that series. Do you know that Dwight Howard shot 70% from the foul line? 11% more than he did during the WHOLE YEAR! Most of the games were very close in that series and i believe totaled only a +13 in Orlando's favor. Yet no one talks about how if Howard doesnt shoot INSANE from the line Orlando DOES NOT win that series. Infact if i remember correctly, his percentage from the line in the 4th quarter was over 80%. And then you have Michael Jorda, er, Michael Pietrus. He played out of his mind. He made what seemed like 100 3s that series. Was nothing close to that all season, nor in the finals. The one thing you had last year on the Cavs was a matchup advantage. And what i dont understand about this fan bases attitude is that you STILL think you're clearly better than cleveland. You werent "better" last year and you traded away the only legit advantage you possessed. No to mention we've made improvements in that regard as well. Your coach is a punk and your media is EXTREMELY arrogant. I used to read articles they'd write last year it just blew me away how ****y they could be. THAT's your problem. All of you thought this year was just gonna be a repeat of last year and you all got caught with your pants down. Last year was, sorry to say, borderline FLUKE. Too many timely 3's, too many role players playing way above their heads, too many fortunate matchups, too little spotlight that let you sneak under the radar. You're seeing this year what kind of team you have when you don't shoot 13-21 from 3 every game. You're seeing this year that Howard isnt nearly as effective without people raining 3s at a ridiculously efficient rate. You're seeing this year what happens when you trade for a me me me player who doesnt want to buy into the system and have NEVER shot a good FG%. It isn't last year anymore. Maybe you all should leave your ****y attitudes back there. There was a thread on here not long ago asking of the top 3 teams cleveland, boston, LA, what does orlando need most to beat them. and EVERYONE on here responded with "nothing" when talking about cleveland. lol, if that's what you all think you've got another thing coming. 26-15? lol YEAH...WE WERE ALL WITNESSES!!I'LL ALSO WITNESS YOU SEEING OFF LeBRON FROM THE AIRPORT THIS JULY..and I'll buy you a drink dude..

Who is to blame for these loses? The players or the coaches?

Now that Hedo is gone we have to find another scapegoat to put the blame on.
  11. people here just don't realise this obvious thing.Vince is far better than Hedo but Hedo was and still is the one who makes his teammates better.Just look at how many alley oops they contributed last year(DWIGHT and HEDO)and ask D12 about it.
  12. Last season all passes were to D12 mainly because we had a 6 foot 10 SF who could easily see the floor from the perimeter and who was wise enough to share the ball. That was the main reason of D12 dominating the paint. However, what we have now are three primadonnas on the court at the same time and all of you know exactly what we are talking about. Therefore, stop telling about salary cap,we had to,he was not worth it blah blah blah...The reality is we are in trouble.

  14. quote: Originally posted by T REX: quote: Originally posted by FloridianaJones It cripples you when you already have 2 other max contract players and 4 MLE players on the roster and a team that just went over the luxary tax for the first time. I never said 1 - 10 million contract cripples a team by itself. Then its the other players that are crippling your team not the cheaper ones? How does that work? You pick the guy you like the least and blame it on him??? Huh? That logic makes no sense at all. Again, you just pick Hedo and his ten mill and say it cripples. If anything Lewis cripples us more. We had a small window to challenge for a title. We didn't even try to tweak the roster and go for another run. Otis traded three starters away. That's huge and was a mistake. You pay Hedo that little money...it was a bargain for what you were getting back. My proof is our current mess. +1

    All About Hedo?

I am afraid somebody here will bring up a new thread called 'THE CURSE OF HEDO'...Are y'all nuts? The man is gone but we are here to discuss him.He was a perfect fit for Dwight, and yes that is correct, but now that he is Otisized(just made up this term but of course have the 'fear'of DOM bashing my grammar!)we have to talk about how these boys start acting as men again.

Courtney Lee might have been a little overrated but Ryan fits perfectly in our system, whether Vince starts playing better or not What if C LEE had made that shot rather than pissing Hedo's marvelleous pass in the last second of that game in Staples Center? No one would say that he was overrated, huh? But he didn't so why go back there? And if you look at his shooting stats with the Nets you would cringe. I am not happy with VC right now and hope he starts to play better, but am very happy with Ryan Anderson. Right now he looks like the best part of the deal with the Nets. He is a long term option for the Magic. While VC may turn out to be a short term lease. That all depends on VC. Well I go back there because it cost us a ring!!!!!However,I have to admit that you are right.

  18. we will win, that's for sure, but please do not boo Hedo.He was one of the reasons of last year's finals run.
  19. quote: Originally posted by ball junkie: quote: Considering all the other issues that dogged the Magic the first half of the season -- Rashard Lewis' suspension, Jameer Nelson's injury, Mickael Pietrus' offensive implosion and Brandon Bass' inability to crack the rotation, to name a few -- perhaps it's encouraging that they are on pace to win 53 games, according to Wednesday's Playoff Odds. I still maintain the Magic came out ahead in the exchange. Carter's numbers are likely to move back closer to his career norms during the second half of the season, for starters. Plus, while he makes more money than Turkoglu, the dough is guaranteed for only one year after this one -- meaning he won't become the cap albatross Turkoglu might. Finally, the Magic still are sitting on a huge trade exception from the Turkoglu sign-and-trade deal that they could use to bring in reinforcements. Nonetheless, you'll excuse both sides for loudly second-guessing themselves heading into Wednesday's meeting. Turkoglu's addition hasn't moved Toronto appreciably closer to contending for anything important in the East and could stick the Raptors with a major cap liability going forward. And Carter's addition hasn't provided Orlando with the efficient perimeter scorer it thought it would be getting. There still is plenty of time for each to change people's minds, obviously, but first impressions can be tough to shake. Heading into the reunion night, that impression is a clear one, and it's called buyer's remorse. Sorry guys...interesting piece but that's all I can give you if you don't subscribe...I love it...don't mind paying the 5 dollars or so a month at all. http://insider.espn.go.com/nba...&page=PERDiem-100106 Nothing more can be said.
