Comical Bass was our best offseason pickup. Best pure PF Magic have had since Horace Grant. This guy is even more of a hustle player and is more athletic. Leave it to a MORON of a coach that was let go from the Miami Heat and whom nobody wanted, to have this kid's talent wasted The only thing this Magic team needs is desperate front court toughness, rebounding, scoring, and hustle. Bass provides this perfectly. Yeah he's not 6'11 but neither was Barkley, whom his game reminds me of except for Barkley's outside shot ability. 100% correct. Stan is a dip**** I am really beginning to hate him. apparently dip****s coach you to the finals. so ill take him. A dip**** coach who goes to the Finals and insert a not ready Nelson into the biggest series of the year and messes with the chemistry we had. GET HIM OUT! The guy is a fraud. So, Van Gundy's biggest sin is playing an All-Star PG who had recovered from injury that was a matchup nightmare for Derek Fisher (who struggled mightily against small quick point guards the entire year, to the point where a Yao and McGrady-less Houston took them to 7 games), and played statistically identical to Rafer Alston (who's own numbers matched his averages throughout the season)? Or is it because he plays a guy "who can't play defense and chucks up shots" (Anderson) over a guy who by all accounts is struggling with defensive rotations, chucks up shots at a very similar rate, rebounds at a similar rate, and who's lack of range clogs things up for a best player and penetration of our guards? Or is it because he only got to the second round with a rookie PG, and two budding stars in Butler and Odom? Is it because he lost game 7 against defending champion Detroit (who themselves came one game short of repeating)? Or is it because Miami struggled early before winning the title, largely because Shaq missed 20 or so of the first 30 games, when Riley took over? Or is it because you are emotional and overreacting because the Magic losing ruined your poor little Christmas? I guess the Bulls should have fired Phil Jackson in 1990 because even though he had Jordan and Pippen, he couldn't get past the Pistons. I knew you were stupid but ****. Who plays someone that has missed over 4 months of basketball and can't fully lift his arm in the finals?FYI I bet with the Celtics and made me some bread. I don't give a **** what happens to this team. I root for them because they are from my city. Never lose sleep over this ****. And the coach still sucks ***. So does JJ Redick. But you support dumb ****, so I take you as a dumbass and anyone that agrees with you. You say the only reason that you root for them because you live in Orlando? Please tell us when you root for them? Some of us have never seen that in your posts. You are not a fan. Why do you even post on here?
  3. Celts played intense defense. We didn't. We shot poorly from the 3 point range. Pretty simple. Dang it. I was really hoping we'd put a whoopin' on those guys. I'll get over it. It might take a week or so, but I'll get over it.

Considering how little he has played this year, "I'm not sure" is a pretty safe vote.
  5. quote: Originally posted by TreyTime:We lose You're the same person who said that JJ should be our starting PG on another thread, right? JJ is a SG and doing a pretty good job of coming off the bench and making it happen. I'm glad you're not the coach, or we probably would lose. Magic win big tonight.

I find this to be annoying and childish of Dwight. Just play ball, dude!

Rate The Orlando Magic Player - Day 2: Tracy McGrady

I give him a 9.0 as a player because he was a one man show with very little support. As far as his quitting on the team at the end, I have to defer to what Chris Rock said about OJ Simpson. "I ain't sayin' he was right, but I understand".

Matt Barnes.. your thoughts so far?

The man plays with heart and hustle. He's got a shade of thug to him, that some Orlando Disney Folk may find offensive(I lived in Orlando for 6 years, and I find it enlightening that players like Jason Williams and Matt Barnes are finally able to play for this team), but he plays with a high level of energy, and I believe he will be huge for our team's effort to be crowned champions in 2010.

Poll: Evaluating talents of Jameer/J.Will & how they fit our team

I believe that Jameer is our starter, but if he tries to come back too soon (ala last years' championship series) SVG needs a swift kick in the behind. I say let J Will be the play maker until he proves otherwise.

Game Thread: Orlando Magic @ Detroit Pistons 11/3/09

I've watched all 4 games so far, and it looks like the Polish hammer has turned into a rubber mallet. What's up with this guy?

  13. The NBA said in its press release that the referees current salaries would have remained the same, but were wanting to reduce costs through changes to travel and benefits policies. They are not being asked to take a pay cut, and I'm sure they won't have to take a Greyhound bus from city to city, so I say they should all go pound sand together.

For some reason, the Nets wanted Lee instead of our veteran, and much higher round draft pick, "Pretty Boy JJ". Either they don't have a large female groupie fan base, or they simply demanded a quality NBA player. Probably a combination of both.

J.J. 's future? Coach Moreau says it's time for respect(pg.12)

quote: Originally posted by 135BPM+:It took JJ 2+ years to earn minutes with Stan because it took JJ 2+ years to get to a point where he was not a complete defensive liability. That's it. Now, as for the bold text above. SERIOUSLY? You say it's just speculation for someone to say that they know Bass will be more effective than Battie or Barnes will be more effective than JJ, but then you turn around and say that VC is a definite upgrade over Turk? Why? Because you agree with one point and disagree with the others does not make the same stupid logic you used in one case non-existent in the other. There are plenty of Turk fans (probably on the Raptors forum by now, thank god [little G since it is not a specific god, but just any god in general]) that would disagree with you and say that Turk proved himself in Stan's system and that Carter has not. It's one thing to voice an opinion, but you are lambasting a group of people for their poor logic in their opinions, then turn around and contradict yourself in the very next thought. I agree with you that it took JJ 2 seasons to get to the point that he was not a defensive liability. The point is HE IS NOW PRETTY MUCH PAST THAT POINT and is a pretty (not great) but decent defender. Stan gave him a shot at starting last season because of his offensive capibilities even though Stan knew he was a defensive liability but thought his offensive produtivity would outweigh his poor defense and JJ lost out to Lee because he could not make an open shot. However, due to losing his spot to Lee, JJ has now worked on and improved his D dramaticly. Do you really think Redick's poor shooting woes are going to continue? I don't. I see JJ regaining his shot over the summer and along with his newfound improvrd defense, he will push for 20-25 mins a game this season. As for my Turk vs. VC comparison, you're right. Its just my opinion that VC is an upgrade over Turk and its no more than pure spectulation. Just like its pure spectulation that Barnes, Bass and Anderson will be an upgrade over Lee, Skip and Battee within Stan's system. I disagree with bravlady that we have taken 20 steps backward but I am concerned about possible chemistry issues. I think Stan will search and find the correct rotation and everyone will be given a fair opportunity. One thing we all know. You don't preform, Stan will give you the hook. GO MAGIC!!! The only way that JJ plays 25 minutes in a game with our roster is if we have 2 of guards on the disabled list.
