  1. He really needs to be better on D

He most assuredly does, but seeing him be so efficient, attacking the rim and going at one of the most athletic defenders in the game was a great thing to watch. This team is filled right now with defenders that were not sure if their offensive game is ever gonna pan out. Having someone who looks ready to take the ball and shoulder the load on offense is a welcome sight if Tobias is ready to step up to the task.

  2. Not a single person here has mentioned Tobias performance at all? And people wonder why the media ignore him. Our own fans ignore him. 25 points on 50% shooting even with Anthony Davis matching up against him and 8 rebounds when Vuc is grabbing almost every board out there. The 4 TO's sucked but outside of that he was far and away the best player on the roster last night and no one is talking about it.

  3. There are several "Lead by example" types on this team but for the one who's voice looks like it will be the loudest and will hold other accountable I have to think Harris. He just has the look of a guy who holds other's accountable and gets everyone to match intensity. If theres one guy who I think is really gonna take a big step forward this year it's him.

  4. Missed in all the World Cup Hoopla:

    http://www.mlssoccer.com/news/article/2014/07/01/hes-here-orlando-city-unveil-brazilian-star-kaka-clubs-first-designated-play

Orlando City SC took another huge step toward their 2015 MLS expansion debut on Tuesday with the unveiling of Brazilian playmaker Kaka as the club's first Designated Player.

The 2007 FIFA World Player of the Year and 2002 World Cup winner arrived in Orlando to a hero's welcome on Monday night, and was warmly received by club president Phil Rawlins and his staff in a Tuesday morning press conference.

"We not only brought a Brazilian superstar, we brought a world superstar," Rawlins said at the event. "Today we put MLS on notice. We may be franchise No. 21, but we're not here to make up the numbers.

  5. Duke looks like they are about to go down. I love me an upset but as they and the Gators are the only two teams I care about in college basketball (and UCF... but thats a ship that sailed)... Well maybe this will nock Jabari's stock a bit and he decides to stay another year to play with Okafor and the rest of the ridiculous class they have coming in next year.

  6. You know if he's not drafted (and I severely doubt he will be), I would love to see the Magic give a camp invite to Isaiah Sykes. 36 pts, 2 asts 3 stls and 9 rebounds tonight in the first round of the AAC tourney. The guy is literally UCF's only offensive threat, opponents are geared to stop him every night and he still consistently puts in work in one of the better basketball conferences in the country. He's got talent but he's still rough around the edges, horrible foul shooter and jump shooter, and way to reliant on his left hand, but a good coach could really bring something out of him. Young athletic and great on the defensive side with an awesome drive.

Also, Marcus Smart is a man on a mission and he may play himself back into a top 5 pick at this rate.

  7. Doesn't walker have the most potential on UF?

Yes, however I honestly see him staying one more year to improve his draft stock. He hardly is cracking the lineup at all right now due to so much missed time, and lets be honest, with how well the Gators are playing it would be a mistake to disrupt chemistry based on potential alone. However next year with both Young and Yeguette gone he will have the starting 4 position easily. Get a whole year two showcase your skills and then go into a much lower talent filled draft.

Not saying there is no chance he will leave early, however unless some team comes out and tells him they will draft him in the mid first round, I see him instead staying.

  8. Anyone from UF we should be paying attention to? Seeing how they're a top team and a stone's throw away from us.

I bleed orange and blue, but no one on UF is worth the current draft picks we are carrying. Not saying I wouldn't want any of them. Wilbekin, Young or Prather would all make excellent off the bench players and fit in with the length and athleticism that Hennigan seems to like building a team around. But none of them are what I would consider spending anymore then a late first round or early to mid second round pick on.

  9. http://espn.go.com/mens-college-basketball/story/_/id/10405272/joel-embiid-strongly-considering-staying-sophomore-year-kansas

Kansas 7-footer Joel Embiid told ESPN that he is far from a lock to leave college after this season, and is "strongly considering" returning for his sophomore campaign.

The Cameroon native said prior to Tuesday's win at Baylor that he didn't feel as though he was ready to make the jump to the NBA, but added after the game that it will depend largely on his development over the remainder of the season.

Embiid struggled in the 69-52 victory over the Bears, going 1-for-6 from the field and finishing with five points and seven rebounds.

Wiggins or Parker with first pick. Ennis with second. Tank one more year and snag Embiid. Dominate NBA for the next 10 years.

  10. Big baby is the most difficult player to watch. The problem is he plays so hard out there. He's a high energy guy and you can't fault his effort. I'm happy when he does things like get 3 offensive rebounds in one possession.

This highlights the bad stuff and makes it more noticeable. The three point shooting, the inability to jump, the high number of shot attempts.

When Brian Cook played you knew he was jacking up a shot as soon as possible. You had no hope of team play with him. Big baby teases you with good games, smart plays, and hustle only to spit in your face with something terrible seconds later.

You just summed up my thoughts on Big Baby perfectly. You know he is giving his all every second of the day. There are so many guys in the league who are just collecting paychecks on bad teams, but BBD is not one of them. The man does not know the meaning of the word quit.

Were it not for the questionable decisions, the head scratching shot selection, the ability to just single handedly derail an entire team's ball movement within a few seconds... Glenn would be somebody that I would never want to see traded on the level of JJ. That the mere thought of him in another jersey just ticks me off. And yet... unfortunately...

I can't wait for the day he is shipped out.

  11. Yup. Consistency.

We've seen a common theme. Wiggins early foul trouble equals him checking out mentally.

That's a bit what scares me. This kid has so much talent that even when he checks out he should be the number one threat on the floor. T-Mac could check out and still drop 30 points. Wiggins checks out and he actually becomes a hindrance to his team.

  12. As someone already mentioned, NY still probably makes the playoffs in the weak East so that would be our pick assuming Denver is in the lottery.Plus, in your pipedream of picking #1 and #3, we could have two of Embiid, Parker, Wiggins so no need to trade Afflalo on a good contract and next years first to move up one slot.

New York is only a half game ahead of us currently right now and we have the second worst record in the entire league. The team is a complete and total dysfunctional mess. There is of course a chance that they could put it together and get in if they went on a hot streak, but I don't see it.

As for your second point you probably are right, but I think most will rate a pick that nets Wiggins or Parker much higher then Embiid or anyone else in the draft. I know I would. Cut the pick in next years, but I still would give up AA and BD to do the swap and insure the two most talented wing prospects since Melo and James on the same team.
