Were it not for Argo and The Town, he never would have gotten this part.

Before the torches and pitchforks come out, lettuce remember that Ben Affleck's movies are not all Gigli and Pearl Harbor. Argo, The Town, Goodwill Hunting, The Sum of All Fears... He has some serious acting chops and has put out some good roles. He also has the look of Bruce Wayne down pat. 6'4. Dark haired. Pretty playboy type. He has the chops to do this. Even if he is a far better director then an actor.

    The Official Soccer Thread

So time for my once again random pimping of Orlando City SC. News keeps getting better and better. http://www.mlssoccer.com/news/article/2013/08/08/report-orlando-moves-one-step-closer-mls-reality-stadium-funding-pledge-gove Other reports are all over the web to, with the next being about how the tourist department has officially voiced their support for the plan as well. http://articles.orlandosentinel.com/2013-08-09/business/os-soccer-stadium-venues-announcement-20130809_1_tourism-panel-tourism-marketing-venues-deal All in all this is awesome times to be a soccer fan in Central Florida. The USL playoffs are coming up soon and OC is guaranteed at least one home game and possibly throughout. Any soccer fan in the area should come out for one. It will be well worth it to hopefully see a future MLS team at work.

Arrgh I really wanted Lorenzon Brown or Myck Kabongo.
  7. Whenever I saw him play against Orlando I saw some people react with just as much scorn as they ever did for T-Mac and Shaq (Dwight hadn't left yet). I wouldn't say I was embarrassed (wrong term to use) but more dissapointed in my Magic brethren, as I felt we are a far better fan base then that. But it of course is every fan's right to boo who they want, when they want. I just don't find it very classy. I remember the minor controversy too. I found that silly, he was most definitely deserving. Dude averaged 19 points on over 50% shooting after being essentially gone for 5 years and his ankle now a tribute to the Star Wars line: "More machine now then man." And again, he also played a large role in helping young guys like Dwight and Jameer get this team back to the playoffs for the first time in 6 years. He averaged 14 points and played over 75% of the season. So I still feel like he contributed in a positive way to this franchise. Well yes of course, but you can make that argument for any person who contributes to charity. It doesn't lessen that contribution however.
  8. Count me in the obtuse area because I agree with every single thing the guy has said. I don't understand how Hill can be so universally reviled among Magic fans and put in the same area as Shaq and Dwight in the hatred leveled at him. Oh and as for the whole "He contributed nothing to the franchise over 7 years" thing? That's slightly false. He did cost the Magic several years of bad cap space, but I'm really surprised most Magic fan's keep forgetting he had an all-star season in 04-05, and then followed up as a solid starter in helping Orlando get back to the playoffs for the first time in 6 years. He also was very active in charity events throughout Orlando and dedicated a lot of his time to the city. So again, the idea that he "contributed nothing" is false, and bugs me.

    Official 2013 NBA playoffs Thread

LBJ played absolutely out of his mind but it didn't matter, the Pacers have the advantage at every other position. If LBJ plays at an MVP level each and every game then the Heat may still win, but he has to be absolutely perfect and even then it still may not be enough. And this was even with David West not playing well, stephenson playing hurt and not playing well, paul george having an OK game, and no bench production at all.

Wow... of the 4 teams mentioned I thought Kansas was the least likely.

Which team will you root for in the playoffs?

Zach Randolph may be one of my favorite players to watch in the NBA. A statement that 3 years ago no one would ever have said. But it has happened. I love his game.

I've got a feeling he will end up at FSU, guy seems like the type who wants to forge his own history and be "The Man" of a program. He goes to UNC or the other 2 schools he's just one in a long line. He goes to FSU, he will be the programs biggest star ever. But then again I also though Parker was gonna come to Florida over Duke...

Same. Especially in the comic book accuracy department. I would have been happy with it if they just ditched the Mandarin plot all together and focused strictly on AIM, maybe even added in MODOK or something.

Banks will be great as a third corner on the Bucs, especially with Revis dealing with the number one reciever on the team. Glennon... I dont know what the hell they were thinking. I know they wanted insurance for Freeman but really? Glennon? When they could have probably gotten him in the 4th? When Barkley was still available and a much better QB (who also probably could have been snagged in the 4th)? Really?

Is Anyone else enjoying watching the Lakers?

No Steve Blake and possibly no Nash tomorrow for the Lakers. Chris Duhon may start. Dear lord they are going to be slaughtered. If the Spurs win by over a 100 can they get 2 wins in one game so the Lakers can be knocked out in 3?

    MLB 2013 Season

That was the 97 series. The 2003 series I was with my old man in Washington DC and we watched it in a bar with me being the only person cheering for the Marlins and wearing my jersey and cap. The 97 series I was so freaking tired but I stayed up even when my fam was asleep. I passed out 10 minutes later with what my dad said was the biggest smile on my face he had ever seen when he came to wake me up.

    MLB 2013 Season

I still root for the Marlins based on Nostalgia from when I was a little 10 year old staying up till midnight to watch them win the World Series. One of the biggest sports moments in my life. But now that I have grown up, I still support the team, but I grown in disgust at every move I see made by the ownership.

Can't describe how happy I am with this deal. Getting the best DB in the game since Prime Time himself, and only having to give up 1 first rounder and a conditional 4th in the following year? Not only that but since he is coming off major knee surgery, no guaranteed money in his contract? Sure it's a risky move, but that at least negates a big part of the risk. And if he ends up wanting to restructure his contract because he want's guaranteed money, then that would mean he is playing up to his billing. Revis is the best at what he does, and although that contract is crazy high, the Bucs can pay it and still will be about 14 million under the cap if I remember correctly. With him and Goldson added on, the Bucs went from what may have been the worst pass defense in the league to one of the best (I of course am assuming he is healthy).

Ya wonder how much Revis may pay Barron to get the #24 back, or if he will go to his college #25.

    Tobias Harris Nickname

Although I don't like Optimus Prime, I do agree that T12 needs to go. He's not Dwight. He's a whole different animal. If we are lucky he may end up even being better then Dwight (total longshot). He deserves an original nickname, not a retread of an old one.

The Official NCAA 2013 Season Thread

College football starts tonight baby!!!!! Let's go Knights! Let's go Gators! Heck even the Noles, Bulls, and Canes can all do well as long as they loose whenever they go up against the aforementioned two. Wear your team pride on your shoulder and keep all NCAA talk to this thread. For the Knights I'm looking for a big year out of Storm Johnson, the big time transfer from Miami to UCF. This guy has all the talent in the world to light up every team he faces. UCF has a huge test in the second week against Ohio State, but I actually see a chance for a win there. The one that really scares me is week 4 at home versus Mizzou. That team is dangerous. As for the Gators I'm looking for some serious improvement under Will Muschamp. With how weak the east division is I think the Gators should expect to be in the SEC championship game, competing to win it is a different story however. I look to see Driskel eventually beat out Brisset for the starting job. He just seems a much more dynamic player.
