Ryan the Magic Fan

Shabazz plays his first game tonight. Hopefully he is amazing and the Magic land him. Then suck for one more year and land either Wiggins or Parker next year and we can field that beast of a lineup. Just no more big men. They dont work out for us. If we draft Noel he will become amazing, and then in the middle of his career he will go to LA where Dwight can hand over the keys to the Lakers. *sigh* It's gonna be a long year...

Yep which started a team wide flu, causing the team to go on a 4 game losing streak. This in turn made Otis panic and do those horrible trades, which in turn caused the Magic to be where they are now. Doesn't that just bring a bright ray of sunshine in.

Since were now through the first week of the season and early signing period just began as well I felt it was the perfect time to start this thread. Let's throw all college BBall talk in here. For me it's all about the Gators, Blue Devils, and the Knights. The Gators are in prime position to challenge the Wildcats for the SEC and the Blue Devils looked pretty darn good last night against Kentucky as well. The Knights are gonna be interesting, almost nothing to play for with the sanctions against them but they came out and put a serious hurt on the USF Bulls in there opening of the that shiny rebuilt arena. Also looking at the future, I have to admit I'm getting chills thinking about next year. There is a big chance that both the Gators and the Seminoles could land the #2 and #1 recruits respectively. Andrew Wiggins and Jabari Parker are making there decisions sometime soon. Wiggins is supposedly leaning towards FSU, with Kentucky following a close second, since both his parents went there (and he's a native Canadian? How did that happen?); and Parker is right now going back and forth between Florida and Duke. Parker and Wiggins are head and shoulders above every other recruit, and as long as they play up to their talent level, sure fire top 5 draft picks in the NBA. The idea that the two of them could both end up in the state of Florida is incredible. Could you imagine the on court showdown? I love rivalries and always wished the Gators Seminole rivalry would reach the same fever pitch on the court that it does on the field.

I would curse his name and laugh at him all the way up until he signed with Orlando. Then I would forgive and forget, because he is back in a Magic jersey. I cheer for the team, not the player. Either way it aint happening. But I would love to see the delicious explosion it would cause on ESPN.

I'm officially torn on my jersey purchase. This thread has only made me want to change my screen name here to "DrainO's 24 inch pythons" or "DrainO's 6 pack abs." Not sure wither to say this thread is an utter failure or a surprise rousing success because of that...

So this poll serves two purposes. With Dwight gone it's time for me to go get a new jersey. My Jameer jersey is torn up from over wearing, my Vince and Rashard jerseys sit in the back of my closet, and my Hedo jersey well be burned in celebration when he is no longer on the Magic. It's time to pick a new one, and I want some help on deciding who is the best bet to be on the roster the longest. So what do you think guys? Not only who is the safest to stay on the roster, but who is the new face of this franchise? Who is the up and coming star? Who is going to be trade bait? Who is the biggest fan favorite? Is there any players on this roster that could retire a Magic player? I felt it would be a nice discussion for us all to go over. I excluded Hedo and Harrington cause I'm next to positive neither of those two will be on the Roster next year, and possibly even by the end of the year. Jameer- My favorite Magic player ever. Looking like he is going to be a lifer for the team and end his career here in Orlando with his contract extension as long as he is not traded. JJ- Fan favorite extrordinare, most savy player on the team, and to me the Magic's best trade chip. I got a feeling that no matter how much I want to see him spend his whole career here, JJ will be traded to another team to try and net a draft pick or star player. Davis- Another fan favorite player I think is most likely to be traded. Right now looks like the best all around player on the team, but let's face it, if that's the case the Magic will never sniff any higher then a first round exit in the playoffs and that's thinking positively. However I'm betting a playoff team that's on the cusp of competing for a ship would give up some good pieces for him due to all the good he can bring in. Afflalo- Future All Star? Trade piece? Career journeyman? I really can't call Afflalo. The guy has talent but he is no Top 25 player in the NBA. He could be a great future building piece for the team or he could be a piece we need to trade to bring in the future. There is no knowing it. Moe- Another guy we have no idea how he will turn out. He is on this list based off talent alone. Nicholson- Same as Moe. If Baby is traded especially, Andrew will become a huge piece in the Magic's rebuild efforts. Vucevic- Guy has heart hustle and work ethic written all over him. Expectation of him is to be a solid center for years to come that just does what is needed. But there is a chance he could be something special. No matter what I think we are keeping him. Opinions?

Harrington was destined to be traded the moment he came here. The only question is how long does he last.

Josh is a great backup powerforward, but asking him to play small forward is the epitome of stupidity. Let Harkless or Jones be the starting SF and get those men more PT.

This was awesome to read. I live in the Seminole County area and went to school to be a teacher. Unfortunately due to how much funding has been cut from schools I have not been able to find any job and had to switch careers temporarily. SVG's stand on this have made him a lot of friends in our area. I do find it funny how the article tried to paint it as a republicans vs democrats thing though. Most of the people who supported it were republicans.
