Dwight and Darko...What do you think?

Since Darko has become a starter ... How do you think our 2 Bigs are doing Together? What can they do to improve ? I think they need more time playing together... Dwight needs to stop the turnovers... Darko needs to get a little more aggressive.

    Magic not playoff worthy?

We haven't been talking about the future for 6 years. This is an entirely different team that has only been together since last season. We made the playoffs with T-mac, and everyone ran him out of town. Hence, a re-building process has been in place for about 2-3 seasons now. Really, that's not long to wait for a solid playof run. Ask the Warriors or the Trailblazers about the playoffs and when their run is coming. Magic fans have consistently been impatient and Magic owners have been consistently cheap, that's why we have never won a title. As far as the fans... They have the right ... As far as the Magic being cheap ...We're in the 10 in salaries... Over the cap.

Scouting Report...B Schmitz...Orlando Sentinel WHERE: American Airlines Arena, Dallas RECORDS: Magic 28-32,; Mavs 49-9. BROADCATS: TV -- WRBW-Ch. 65; Radio -- 580 AM (WDBO); Spanish language: 1030 AM (WONQ). MAGIC UPDATE: Orlando is waiting for the return of PF Tony Battie (fractured thumb), although it is not likely he will play tonight. Battie has been working on the side during practices, adjusting a plastic splint on his hand after trying to catch passes. Without Battie, the Magic are down a big man and, at times, have had to use F Bo Outlaw and F Pat Garrity, who are both undersized. . . . The Magic lost to the Mavericks 111-95 in Orlando on Jan. 23. F Dirk Nowitzki had one of his best games, scoring 33 points while adding 10 rebounds and eight assists. . . . The Magic's next game is Monday night when they host the Milwaukee Bucks. MAVS UDPATE: The reigning Western Conference champs have won 35 of their last 37 games and are on a 14-game winning streak (tying a franchise record). They've also had winning streaks of 12 and 13 games. According to Elias Sports Bureau, the Mavs are the first team in league history to have three streaks of 12-plus wins and just the fourth team to have three double-digit winning streaks in the same season. . . . Nowitzki is averaging 25.4 points and 9.6 rebounds per game. The Mavs are 16-0 when he scores 30 or more points in a game this season. WHAT TO WATCH FOR: The Magic can make some noise by stopping the Mavs' streak, but it will be tough without Grant Hill and coming off a game in San Antonio. The Magic have to slow Nowitzki. They also need to slow the Mavs as they are 12-0 when scoring 60 or more points in the first half. http://www.orlandosentinel.com/sports/basketball/magic/...story?coll=orl-magic

    FANS GAME THREAD***MAGIC vs MAVERICKS...We Lose...103-98

By MIKE VOTTA, STATS Senior Writer The Dallas Mavericks have enjoyed a number of long winning streaks this season, but now, they're as hot as they've ever been. The Mavericks try for a franchise-record 15th straight victory Saturday when they host the Orlando Magic. Dallas has already posted winning streaks of 12 and 13 games this season, and its current run matches the franchise record set Oct. 30-Nov. 27, 2002. The Mavericks are the first team in NBA history with three 12-game winning streaks in a season and are just the fourth with three 10-game streaks. Dallas has also won 21 straight at home, surpassing its previous franchise record of 16. The Mavericks have not dropped a game at the American Airlines Center since Dec. 7, and including losses in their first two home games this season, are 28-3 on their own court. Orlando (28-32) knows just how tough the Mavericks can be at home -- the Magic have dropped eight in a row in Dallas since a 100-90 victory on Dec. 11, 1997. Overall, the Mavericks have won six of eight against the Magic. The Mavericks beat Cleveland 95-92 at home on Thursday despite allowing Cavaliers star LeBron James to score 39 points. James missed two free throws and a pair of 3-pointers in the final 13.7 seconds to help Dallas take the victory. "We were fortunate enough to win it," Mavericks coach Avery Johnson said. Dallas has won 35 of its last 37 games and has not dropped consecutive contests since a franchise-worst 0-4 start. "It wasn't the prettiest win in that streak, but a win is a win," forward Jerry Stackhouse said. Dirk Nowitzki, who leads Dallas with 25.4 points per game, had team highs of 24 points and 11 rebounds. The MVP candidate came close to his first career triple-double, picking up seven assists. The Mavericks had five players in double figures, and DeSagana Diop chipped in a season-high eight points. "They have a lot of weapons. They're definitely the favorite in the West," James said. The Magic lost their second straight on Friday, falling 98-74 to the San Antonio Spurs. Hedo Turkoglu had a team-high 22 points for Orlando, which is wrapping up a four-game road trip. "We played the Spurs very close for three quarters only down by eight. Eight turned into twenty really fast during the first three minutes of the fourth," Magic coach Brian Hill said. "When you're down by twenty you really can't do much." Dwight Howard had nine points and nine rebounds, ending a stretch of 13 straight games scoring in double figures and another of eight straight double-doubles. "I didn't play well tonight, but my team did," Howard said. "It's embarrassing to lose by this many points but next time we play these guys, it's going to be in the back of my mind. Every time we play these guys." Magic forward Grant Hill missed the game with a left foot injury. SAN ANTONIO -- The last time they met, Orlando Magic center Dwight Howard flew in for a mighty game-winner over Tim Duncan, a last-second alley-oop heard 'round the NBA. Duncan and the San Antonio Spurs, though, drained the drama out of the rematch Friday night in a 98-74 rout of the Magic at AT&T Center, silencing the visitors with a fourth-quarter knockout and holding them to a season low for points. This time, Howard suffered the indignity of missing a dunk at point-blank range early in the game. He finished with just nine points -- only two in the second half -- and nine rebounds, inflicting most of his damage to the rim on the ill-fated jam. He sheepishly snapped the collapsible rim back into place. If only fixing the Magic (28-32) were that simple. They lost for the sixth time in seven games and lost more ground in the playoff chase. The Magic are still No. 9, but lost a half-game to the No. 8 (and idle) New Jersey Nets (28-30) and a full game to the No. 7 Miami Heat (29-29), who beat the Detroit Pistons. "If we don't get our focus back, we can say goodbye to the playoffs," point guard Carlos Arroyo said. Incredibly, it gets even harder tonight: The Magic finish their Texas two-step against the Dallas Mavericks, who have a 14-game winning streak and the league's best record. Guard Manu Ginobili scored a game-high 31 points -- nailing six 3-pointers -- and led a bevy of Spurs who responded with big buckets to blunt Magic rallies in the third before pouring it on in the fourth. Duncan had 19 points and 10 rebounds as San Antonio improved to 40-18. Hedo Turkoglu led the Magic with 22 points, hitting seven of eight shots. Jameer Nelson added 18 on 8-of-15 shooting. Howard, who had been on a tear through the past month, was roughed up and often double-teamed. Darko Milicic never got into a flow, finishing with six points. Turnovers undermined the Magic's effort again, especially early. They committed 18 that the Spurs converted into 23 points. The Magic, missing shooting guard Grant Hill's 14.5 points per game, scored a season-low 74 points. The previous season-low was 78, recorded twice and as recently as Feb. 10 against the Nets. It came a night after Howard's game-winning dunk in a 106-104 victory against the Spurs completed a comeback from an 18-point deficit. Hill was examined at Duke Medical Center on Friday. It was determined, according to the Magic, that he has been experiencing nothing more than arthritic pain in his left foot. Hill is expected to rejoin the club today in Dallas, but likely will not play against the Mavs. The Magic cut a 15-point lead to eight to begin the final quarter, but there would be no comeback this time. The Spurs blitzed them 15-3 in about three minutes to lead 80-60. They outscored the Magic 33-17 in the fourth, hitting 11 of 19 shots (57.9 percent). "We were down by eight points after three quarters, and I felt pretty good," Coach Brian Hill said. "Eight turned into 20 really fast. When you're down by 20, you can't really do too much." Ginobili scored nine points in the run, and the Magic committed three turnovers and missed three of four shots. "We know Ginobili," Arroyo said. "We have to be a little more aggressive. We're not doing that now." Brian Hill said he thought the Spurs were giving the Magic a "payback" for the loss in Orlando. Consider it paid in full. WHERE: AT&T Center, San Antonio. RECORDS: Magic 28-31; Spurs 39-18. BROADCASTS: TV -- ; Radio -- 580 AM (WDBO); Spanish-language 1030 AM (WONQ). MAGIC UPDATE: This could turn into a nightmare of a weekend. Already struggling, the Magic will be facing two of the league's best teams on back-to-back nights. They have committed 52 turnovers the last two games, and both the Spurs and Mavericks are teams that can smother you defensively. Young guns Dwight Howard and Jameer Nelson have been especially careless with the ball lately. SPURS UPDATE: They have won six consecutive games, including their last one Monday against Toronto. They will be well rested, although they might be a little rusty with so much time off between games. They have scored more than 100 points in each of the last three games, winning by an average of 18 points. Their last two losses came on consecutive games in Orlando and Miami. WHAT TO WATCH FOR: The Magic need a fast start, capitalizing on the Spurs' recent inactivity. Magic veteran Tony Battie could return after missing the last nine games with the fracture on his right thumb. He likely will return as a backup to both Howard and Darko Milicic. Spurs veteran Tim Duncan will try to get both Howard and Milicic into early foul trouble, which will hinder their effectiveness. Tim Povtak
