Magic trade for Veteran PG Rafer Alston!
ClaytonMagic replied to bhnole's topic in Orlando Magic Forum
I think your going to see less threes now that Alston is running the point. He will push the ball and I bet he will connect with Pietrus for a lot of fast break points. -
Okay so I took Boston, Orlando, Cavs and matched them up against the top 9 teams in the West. So each of them should play the top 9 in the West 18 total games. Top 9 Teams Lakers Spurs Nuggets Hornets Trail Blazers Suns Rockets Jazz Mavericks Now these are all quality teams that will give Boston and Cleveland the most trouble. Magic The Magic have already played 11 of the 18 games VS these teams. That is counting tonights game VS the Lakers Celtics The Celtics have played 8 out of the 18 games. Cavaliers The Cavaliers have only played 7 of the 18 games against these Westerns conference teams. That is counting the matchup against the Hornets tonight which they will likely lose. This is really looking good for the Magic the second half of the season as the Boston and Clevelands schedules should get tougher and the Magics hopefully easier! GOOO MAAAGIIIC!

1/29 Magic VS Cleveland, Thats going to be crazy! Cant Wait!
-
quote: >Cavaliers are 10-1 against the West. 5-1 against the top 9, with the 7th game tonight vs. N.O. I bet most of those are at home for the Cavs
-
quote: where do you get your information? The genius's over at espn say we can't be taken seriously because we haven't played any hard teams and have had the easiest schedule in the history of the NBA. I get my information from looking at the schedule. Look for yourself!
-
quote: I think you're counting tonight's game also. Right now we're 7-3 against those teams. We've been home and away 5 times each, so tonight means we've played more of these games away than at home (and tomorrow it'll be 5 home, 7 away.) I am counting tonights game! Magic play Lakers and that will be thier 11th game. Cavs play Hornets and that will be their 7th

Cavs will lose, but its going to be tough for the Magic to win. If we win were in first, if we lose were probably in third. BIG NIGHT GOOOOOOOOOOO MAAAAAAAGIIIIIIIIIC!!! -

Eastern Conference Insider: Howard, Magic doing it with 'D'
ClaytonMagic posted a topic in Orlando Magic Forum
PHILADELPHIA -- The Boston Celtics have shown us early that they're just as good as they were last season, or at least close to it. With the addition of Mo Williams and improvements to their offense, the Cleveland Cavaliers have shown that they are right behind. The Detroit Pistons have always been thought of as the third contender in the East, but they're struggling to find an identity under a new coach and with a new star in their backcourt. There's a team ready to take their place though. After a pair of disappointing losses to start their season, the Orlando Magic have won 11 of their last 13 games and are off to another strong start. And they've done that even with Hedo Turkoglu and Rashard Lewis shooting just .389 from the field, numbers way down from last season. http://www.nba.com/2008/news/features/john_schuhmann/11...n.insider/index.html I dont know if anyone has read this, but its pretty cool! -

Magic's Howard might not try and defend slam dunk title
ClaytonMagic posted a topic in Orlando Magic Forum
Orlando Magic center Dwight Howard might be leaning toward retiring his cape. Howard, who won the slam dunk contest on All-Star weekend, dressed up like Superman and "flew" to the hoop to secure the top prize. He seems to be leaning toward resting on his laurels. "There's a good saying, 'Quit while you're ahead,' " Howard said. "I thought I did a great job at the dunk contest last year. I think everybody liked it. I don't want to mess that up. "I could top what I did last year in the dunk contest; I do have a lot of ideas. I'm still hoping to do it but Superman and that whole weekend . . . It opened up so many doors in my life, and it showed my personality for people who didn't know Dwight Howard." The All-Star Game this season will be held Feb. 15 in Phoenix. http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/news/story?id=3729431 -
