This is a big surprise. Now we all must wait for ESPN to come out with one of these. I don't expect it at all. Yes a surprise to say the least...they must be serving cold ice tea in hell LOL!

Making the Call - Pietrus Goaltending??
Darthmagic replied to Natesroom's topic in Orlando Magic Forum
quote: Originally posted by LeBrickJames:WOW! Awesome. He admitted that the refs were wrong. I love 'Making the Call'. The reffing in this game was garbage from the start. Why did the refs want to give the Lakers a season sweep over us? I'm still trying to figure out how the hell they made that call. -
What are your plans if/when we win the NBA Championship

Watch ESPN 24/7 "Today on Sportscenter, we'll show highlights of the Orlando Magic's historic NBA title run, followed by 58 minutes of the LeBron James free agency saga." LMAO! -

quote: Originally posted by Leoben: quote: Originally posted by CARGUY:Why couldn't this senario happen? Dewayne Wade is going to want out of Miami considering they have done nothing to keep him. Miami risks getting nothing for him (sound familier)We can offer a sign and trade. Gortat, VC and maybe Anderson or JJ for Wade. They would get a center for the future, a young 3point shooter with unlimited potential and a super star. I don't think any other team can offer them any more than we can. Can you imagine Wade and Howard together for the next 5 or 6 years!!! Am I nuts or could something like this happen!!! Point blank stupid. People stop having crazy dreams about Wades, Melos or Boshes in Magic uniform without giving up half of the roaster in return. Magic can't do anything else. Are GMs in Miami or Toronto retarded or what ? These teams won't fight for championships anyway, they will try to find something on FA market or save the money not go after 34yo VC abd his 13 mill in next year. Ryan and Gortat aren't so huge talents, more important still unproven talents, Gortat contract too long and too big. Too much gamble to be tied up with his 28 millions for 4 years. Agree about the silly dreams, disagree about Gortat's contract. It's actually a bargain.

quote: Originally posted by bhnole:Marcin is already better than a large portion of the starting centers in the NBA. He is young, athletic, coachable and has a reasonable contract. He is by far our most attractive trade asset for this summer. Marcin wants a chance to start that he won't get here but has been content to come off the bench for another title run. But I expect Otis to shop him this summer. Great post, Gortat is a very good trade piece. What player or players would you want for him?

quote: Originally posted by cunningstunt:i'd keep the polish machine, can you imagine what we would get to back up dwight's foul trouble? alot of centers have been realizing how surprisingly physical gortat can be. but in turn, that's a salary cap explosion. Unless Gortat becomes the back-up Power Forward and they play him and Dwight i see him being traded. Too much of a luxury as a back up. Outside of JJ he's probably our greatest asset to upgrade the team.

The thing about it is Cleveland won't even reach the ECF. That's a bit of an extreme point of view, wouldn't you say? No i wouldn't. There is a legit chance the Cavs do not reach the ECF. I think there are two teams that have a legit chance of beating the Cavs in the first and second rounds of the playoffs. If they play the Bobcats or the Celts before us i don't think they make it. To balance this i'll add that i do not think the Magic would beat the Cavs in a seven game series. I think we lost our match up advantages against them. The only team i see beating the Magic in the Eastern Conference playoffs is the Cavs.

I don't know about anyone else but the regular season seems like it's dying a sloooow painful death. In the mean time i was wondering who you guys think would be realistically option in a trade for Gortat in the off season. Do you want two decent back ups like Nick Collison and Eric Maynor/Kyle Weaver? or bundle him with another player for a starting wing? Like Jeff Green? What say you?

It's out of control how obviously dominant the Dwight Howard dynasty will be and how unaware the media is. I mean the Magic consistently punk the teams with the best players on them and have assembled a roster that is flat out superior to anything else any other team can put out.

What is Matt Barnes 3PT% in the starting lineup?

I know i'm gonna get flamed for this, but with the injury to Peaches and Matt Barnes' toe issue, would picking up Raja Bell make sense? He's another tough veteran defender who can stroke the three. What do you think? http://basketball.realgm.com/s...e_look_at_raja_bell/

Even if Bell were available for the playoffs, it doesn't make a lot of sense for Otis to add more salary to the cap (+ the extra luxury tax) to add a player that we don't need. Say Barnes goes down. Would we need him then? I'm just saying you have to have contingency plans.

Just watched the Sports Reporters...

So basically, us going to mthe finals and possibly winning a title would be to the detrement of the nba. Sounds like an ESPN thought process. -
Does the Amway Arena lead the league in the "Referee's Suck' chant? I can't remember hearing it while watching other teams play. I notice that the refs tend to make more bad calls against us when the fans do it. Maybe they should stop.

The Official I'm Officially Sick and Tired of Jon Barry and his Officially Bald Head
Darthmagic replied to Jareth Cutestory's topic in Orlando Magic Forum
Nick Anderson just called out John Barry and Tim Legler on Tuck and Oneil. Basically said they were being unfairly hard on Dwight and what else do you expect from him. He said Dwight not might be the most polished but his other skills more than make up for it.
