The Official Hidayet Turkoglu Appreciation Thread

It amazes me how misunderstood Hedo is. Everyone thinks he pulled off that last play to get his 10th assist, but that wasn't it at all. What's the truth? He did it for us, the fans, so we could share in his love of that which is the pizza.

    Anderson Varejao

That makes this even more amusing. And people think this guys is "the solution"... Varejao Out At Least Two Games With Broken Cheekbone http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/news/story?id=5975001
  3. If I had to choose between Marcus Cousin and Courtney Sims, I'd go with Sims. We should be able to get him for next to nothing or Chris Duhon, whichever is worth less...

Official Game Thread: Magic vs Knicks

Magic win by 7 tonight. Anderson gets a BS Flagrant 1 call for cleanly blocking Amare and accidentally catching him in the goggles on the way down.
  5. I was selfish and shortsighted. I asked for a Magic win for Christmas, which we received and it was good, but I should have asked for Milovan Rakovic to come over instead. Hopefully he comes over this summer and The Age of Rakovicâ„¢ can begin! And if you want to further torture yourself, here's recent footage of both our European prospects against each other (Rakovic vs. He Who Must Not Be Named): http://www.euroleague.net/main/results/showgame/report?gamecode=115&seasoncode=E2010

    Amare On Howard

I've come to expect stupid comments like this from Garnett, but I thought Amare knew better.

    JJ Redick Appreciation Thread

I was looking at his numbers compared to guys like Kyle Korver and Kirk Hinrich who were talked about in the same circles as him this summer. This was definitely the right decision.

I feel sorry for Wiz and Suns

I'm confused as to how Gortat played 35 min w/o a single foul. Is this the Bizarro-verse?

KG injured after Dunk in Detroit

I try not to wish ill on people, but the guy is a douche. Biggest trash talker in the game, and when it's publicized or people talk trash back to him, tries to act like the victim. Maybe he can rehab his personality along with that knee.

    The Plus/Minus Poll

Seeing as how the new additions haven't played 10 games for us yet, I'd be surprised if it wasn't JJ or Bass.

    Orlando @ New Jersey 12/27/10

I can see Stan giving the new guys major minutes tonight to help get them acclimated. Dwight only plays 25 minutes (not because of fouls). Earl Clark scores double digits. Magic win by 12.
  12. We as a team really need to focus on leaving someone back to pull down OFFENSIVE rebounds. It drives me crazy the amount of times someone jacks up a shot and before it hits the rim, the entire team is already back behind the mid-line. I know, I know, it has defensive ramifications but if it doesn't go in we're basically giving the other team an uncontested DEFENSIVE rebound.
  13. I was completely livid when I saw this call during today's Celtics-Magic game. Being a pretty big basketball fan for 20+ yrs, I can't recall ever seeing the 10 sec. free throw call penalty being inforced in any game. I still think it's completely bogus that after not calling this all season, they waited until a low scoring premier game like this to pull this crap out. That said, maybe Dwight can use this to his advantage to improve his free throw shooting. I've always felt that yes, he does take too long at the line and looks more out of rhythm the longer he takes. If in practice he works on getting the free throw shot off in 5-6 seconds, perhaps he'll be more fluid and an increase in percentage will result. He's said repeatedly that he thinks too much when he's at the line. Speeding his shots up couldn't hurt, since he's shooting the worst percentage in his career so far this year (56.1%). http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/news/story?id=5955838

More Celtics complaining about the loss to Magic

Was Shaq complaining when he and Dwight got tangled up, and he hooked Dwight's arm to pull him down on top of him?

Otis Smith: No hurry to get a big man

I'd pull the trigger on this in a New York minute, as he was on my short list originally. Two problems though: He's only 6'9", which is counter to us getting bigger and Golden State probably won't give him up until Biedrins is 100%.

    celtics @ Magic

I don't know about anyone else, but I found the 2nd half officiating to be only marginally better. I still think the fix was in though. Stern has got to be PISSED!

    celtics @ Magic

Shaq just fouled out by throwing one of the few guys as strong as he is to the ground. Good job Dwight!

    celtics @ Magic

I love Mighty Mouse, and I can't believe he didn't take his matchup against Robinson as an opportunity to finally have someone he can take one on one all day and shoot over. And FFS, run the fast break. C'mon Jameer!

The Real Truth from The Truth

The real truth is...the fix is in!
  22. True, forgot about him racking up the four fouls so quick. And I'm pretty sure we'd all get dehydrated trying to stay in front of Tony Parker.

    GIF of the YEAR!!!!

I've seen people knocked unconscious by lesser impacts. I didn't realize until last night Chris Quinn was still in the league. Wonder if he has a concussion today. :chairshot:
  24. With Arenas and Redick coming off the bench, either could be Sixth Man candidates if they continue to play the way they did last night.
  25. From ESPN's game summary I personally don't want Arenas to start either. What I do want to see is Nelson return to the All-Star level form he was displaying in November before the team came down with the plague, averaging 8-10 assists per game while keeping his turnovers down. He was on track to do this last night, and we're fortunate to have a backup PG that can come in and play at the same level.
