    Starting 5 next season

I think Redick should start. Who cares if he's guarding Kobe and Wade, it's not like VC would be a better option on defense. Start Vince at SF, he seemed to play really well alongside JJ last year with that lineup: Nelson Redick Carter Lewis Howard That also gives Pietrus more SG minutes, and thats a good thing for our defense.

    Any word on VC?

Who cares? He's getting traded before the deadline anyway so maybe we should be more concerned with the other shooting guard on our team that actually tries when he plays.

Jason Williams Vince Carter Stanley Robinson Brandon Bass Daniel Orton

    Jameer Nelson's shot selection

It has nothing to do with defense. If you are on the Warriors, your stats simply DO NOT COUNT! Get with the prog.

    Jameer Nelson's shot selection

He was on the Warriors so none of those stats count.

    Jameer Nelson's shot selection

Brandon Jennings and John Salmons is awful?

    Jameer Nelson's shot selection

I can't think of a starting tandem that would be worse, but perhaps Minnesota? Although Johnny Flynn is decent. Dallas though has JJ Barea and Jason Terry. I wouldn't argue against those guys being better than ours.

    Jameer Nelson's shot selection

Interesting to see rookies like Jennings and Curry on Nelsons list, but the Rookie of the Year, Tyreke Evans on the other list.... As for Duhon, he hasn't really been known for his shooting the last couple years, so thats nothing to be surprised about. He's still a better passer than Jameer, and our offense shouldn't get worse when Jameer goes out of the game because of it. JJ + Duhon off the bench could end up being the best backup guard tandem in the NBA. Unless anybody wants to argue that? Dallas and maybe Atlanta could I suppose.

    Rising Star - JJ (NBA.COM)

I like how you think, because I was going to post something along these lines but I was too lazy... Also, if you are going to talk about Curry being on an awful team, look at the Chicago Bulls last year. 41-41 in the Eastern Conference. That is awful, and they sneak into the playoffs because nobody is good in the East.

    Rising Star - JJ (NBA.COM)

Derrick Rose is overrated by many people. I know people that legitimately think he's a top 3 PG. Better than Williams and Rondo... I think it's very nice to say he's a top 5 PG... Personally I'd put him at about 6 or 7. If a guy shoots 0% from 3 in a playoff series that went seven games, you know you can't shoot. He's also nowhere near the passer/defender/rebounder that Rondo is. His usage rate is very high, because he's on the Bulls and ALWAYS has the ball. Nobody on that team can score so he's always the one taking shots. Derrick Rose is really effing good though, can get to the rim at will, and has a burst of speed like no other, but that alone doesn't make him a top 5 PG. Thats just my opinion though, and yes I am clearly a Steph Curry super fan, so don't listen to me.

    Rising Star - JJ (NBA.COM)

Curry clearly had a better rookie season, and it's your opinion that he is not better. I personally think Rose is overrated, turnover prone, and like you touched on, can't shoot. ;) What is everybody's prediction on JJ's numbers this year? I'll say that with the right amount of minutes, he's going to put up close to 15 ppg.

    Rising Star - JJ (NBA.COM)

Hopefully they trade Ellis as well, because he is a ball dominant guard that basically can't shoot 3's or pass. I agree that it's only been one year, but if you are comparing rookie seasons, Steph Curry is better than guys like Ray Allen, Derrick Rose, etc... I still wouldn't say Durant is a better shooter than Curry, though. The guy shot a decent 36% last year and for his career from outside the arc, but most of his scoring comes from his ability to get to the rim with that epic wingspan, and that go to mid range fade away you see all the time. Durant is a boss though, and is probably the front runner (with Dwight Howard) to win MVP this season.

    I'll give you Steve Nash.

    Rising Star - JJ (NBA.COM)

Curry shot 45% from three, as a rookie. Ray Allen has never shot 45% from three in his entire career. Courtney Lee also took 105 less threes than Steph in his rookie season.

I'd still say Chris Paul is better, but wow having Deron Williams wouldn't be much a downgrade.

    • Stephen Curry, Warriors: He's already the best all-around shooter in the game. Yes, already, with all due respects to Ray Allen. But to dwell on shooting wouldn't be doing Curry justice. In the latter half of his rookie season, Curry showed solid passing skills and even drew raves for his passing on Team USA this summer. Just a hunch: Curry will make the All-Star Game, finish among the top 3-point shooters, lead the Warriors in assists and average well over 20 points. This would shock you? Kevin Cox knows what he's talking about.

We will have Chris Paul and Carmelo Anthony by 2012

MagicLA is a troll that thinks forums are public... last time I checked, you signed up and there is a sticky with rules at the top of the forum. I'm sure you probably think you have all kinds of rights, but perhaps you should read over the Patriot Act before you get to comfortable in your moms basement.

http://games.espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=2dnhheg What are your thoughts on this trade? The Nuggets get a legit defensive presence on the wing, and a starting caliber center to go with Vinces expiring contract. Meanwhile, we get back a legit backup Center, which is something we will need if we move Gortat. JR Smith would be worth the risk if we are going to be adding Melo... plus he can be our sixth man, and JJ can finally move to the starters role. I know it's mostly a pipe dream, but there is nothing else to talk about.
  23. Yao, Shaq, and Camby all out of the top 10, should be interesting to see who fills the list. Dwight is obviously going to go #1, then you have Gasol, Bogut, Kaman, Bynum, Oden, Horford, Noah, Brook Lopez, and who else???
