  1. I checked some numbers …we are ranked 23 out of 30 teams in to’s …our two studs lead the way …Suggs, Banchero and Franz take nearly 15 threes a game …I wish it was more because for the Magic to take a leap we need shooting …more makes …

Regardless  of who the PG is …our offense efficiency is ranked 24 out of 30 teams …we’ve tried a myriad of different lineups and PG’s …Fultz has played only 21 out of a possible 55 games …17 games since he returned after Christmas …and only 11 games as a starter in which we are 7-4 with some very nice wins over highly ranked competition …point being it’s hard to blame our poor offensive numbers on a guy who hasn’t played much and who is still a net positive when he’s on the court .

Does he pass up shots ? Yes …Is he hesitant ? Yes … but the jury is still out .

Let me be clear on Markel …it is to early, which I’ve been saying like a broken record to make assumption's and decisions about him and our personnel for next season at this time …there are still 27 games left in this regular season

I thought all the trade talk at the deadline was ridiculous …didn’t see one substantial rumor with him specifically mentioned just writers seeing our poor shooting and trying to connect dots .

Mohs will continue to experiment with lineups moving forward I feel certain in saying that .

Finally I think winning and a successful season will drive management decisions in terms of personnel …I feel like I’ve bruised the moderators feelings for stating I thought they were leading the charge in scapegoating this teams issues on Marquelle Fultz …for that I want to apologize .

Looking forward to watching the rest of the season and I’m certain management will watch keenly themselves and all will know what decisions need to be made by seasons end .

Still, the Magic have a +1.4 net rating with Fultz on the floor, including a stellar 108.4 defensive rating. The Magic's offense is nothing to write home about, but Fultz is not the statistical drain everyone might think.

Here’s you a good Fultz story …it’s positive though lol …he makes no excuses about the shooting part …I’ll say again …Fultz has a contract coming up …he’s got the last part of year to prove his value …we shall see what happens .

Edit: winning and post season success is relevant

Just wanted to make sure. The sentence about someone trying to explain it and “good luck” came across as confusing. I think it really comes down to sample size more than anything else. He’s on the court a whole lot more than he’s off it, so numbers can get skewed. Also, JI’s net positive is absurd.

I do know that FanforTooLong posts periodically that Banchero gives him Carmelo vibes …the comment does make me pause though it’s way to early to make that assumption .

  4. Reading to much into it bro …I was shocked by the stat …that’s it …I can’t explain it and was actually hoping someone else would …it’s mind boggling to me …I get links from NBA.com in my email with reading material and saw this …team is on a break so I posted it …doesn’t mean I think less of him loved his game last night

  5. Paolo Banchero, Orlando Magic

    1. Would be just the fifth different player 21 years or younger to average at least 22 points, five rebounds and five assists in a season, joining Michael Jordan, LeBron James (twice), Luka Doncic (twice) and LaMelo Ball.

    2. Ranks second (behind Stephen Curry) with seven buckets (on 16 attempts) to tie or take the lead in the final minute of the fourth quarter or overtime.

    3. The Magic have been 8.4 points per 100 possessions better with him off the floor (plus-7.1) than they’ve been with him on the floor (minus-13). That’s the worst on-off differential among All-Stars, though there are three others – Bam Adebayo, Jaylen Brown and Stephen Curry – whose teams have been worse with them on the floor.

Good luck explaining point number 3 though I’m sure someone will try

    This didn’t age well. Lol!

It was right on point …you didn’t understand I’m assuming you weren’t watching the game …I want him to shoot more 3’s instead of driving into the lane with his head buried and not often enough for me getting a positive result …last night in the OKC game killed us with us with the to’s …if Fultz is a non factor shooting Banchero and Franz can help the offense by taking and making more threes …Banchero was in a zone …I posted don’t hesitate bro shoot the dang ball ! …Cause after making 3 in a row was like he was still thinking about it …dude was giving him room …when you’re feeling it let it fly ! That was my point ….Franz too .

Maybe we should have taken the starters out when we were down 20 last night with 7 minutes left in the game?  Would we have had more players available tonight if we did?    Better to save something for today’s game once it was apparent we weren’t going to win last night.

Was telling my son this during the 4th quarter last night …agree

Ideally but expecting people to significantly improve in the middle of a season seems unrealistic to me.  For the most part, by this point in the season they are who they are.

Franz is a career 35 percent from 3 guy …and that percent is actually dragged down cause he’s only 31 this season …not sure what happened …Banchero has been in the high 30’s most of the season but is now down to 35 …like I said shoot the ball better …both can and have shown they can

It’s not either or, it’s both.  Bad passing is on the person who makes the pass, but if you’re trying to get into the paint and it’s constantly clogged up, the chance of turning it over is going to be consistently higher than if there was more room.  Just a lot less margin for error, and can’t expect every pass to be perfect.

Did you really read my post ? I digress …

No one is saying Fultz alone caused this loss.  That’s a mischaracterization.  The team as a whole played poorly.

The point being made is different.  It’s pretty apparent we need better spacing and better shooting.  In other words we need pieces that better complement Wagner and Banchero.  When you look at it, PG appears to be one obvious area where we could make such an upgrade.

I wasn’t just talking about this game …my points were for EVERY game …and well, the personnel we have right now is what we’ll have to the end of the season …so hopefully others will stop making TO’s and improve their game also …not just Fultz that needs to improve his game …I’d add that even if Fultz isn’t here next year our studs need to improve in making the right reads

  11. This question is for Soul Bro but anybody can answer and I’d prefer if whoever answers has actually played competitive basketball before cause I know Soul Bro did for a little while .

If you’re on the floor with your team …when your team has the ball the opponent is slacking off one of your guys …you have the ball and try to drive into multiple players and lose the ball or you throw an errant pass …is that the players fault who the opponent was slacking off of guarding for your committing a TO ?

    I’ll answer for you …HECK NO !

I played college bb …my son did too …and he’s not a Fultz fan …he and I discussed on the way home …I averaged 24 ppg in college and I can tell you I had guys in my lineup that couldn’t shoot and the D slacked off of …but any turnover I committed was my own dang fault and nobody else but mine …my son agreed.

This thing that Fultz playing style causes others to commit turnovers is complete BS.

How do you combat teams slacking off of one of your guys ? …Learn to dang shoot yourself ! Or work on your quickness and learn to beat people off the dribble ! Create for others ! Once you’ve worked on your ability to beat people off the dribble …and this is important …Learn to pass the ball accurately ! Make the right read !…if teams are packing the paint …and I watched it this OKC game …not only is Fultz being left open but others have to be also …you gotta make the right read and you can’t do it with your head down when driving into multiple players …and this goes for any player .

somebody have to control those long rebounds, the more rebounds, the more possession a team have. doesn't matter where those rebounds are coming from. positionless basketball is the new norm nowadays. for example, shooting should not be blamed on guards alone. being dead last on 3pt shooting is not on fultz and AB alone.

I'm old school though on thinking that directing the flow of the game > shooting in guards position IMHO..

Here’s another stat for all Jamesdin …we had 16 to’s tonight …starters had 12 …but Fultz had only 1 …but let’s blame those to’s on Fultz cause his presence creates more pressure on our young studs and he’s the cause of their to’s.

Yes he has improved. But still he is very raw…he can have a great game, then disappears for next 2. He has not learned yet how to control the game, pace….

He’s not a PG …we’ve tried that already …but he has improved leaps and bounds shooting the 3 and playing defense

  14. On my way home …great jersey hang ceremony with Shaq …all the players from his time here telling some priceless stories .

JI …kid was a minus 24 in just 15 minutes …never thought I’d see the day that happened …Mohs even tried that one lineup with him, Harris, Cole, Franz and his brother …all could shoot …made no difference .

But let’s blame Fultz jajaja for this one .

Tell you what …Fultz has until the end of the year to start at minimum hitting midranges again or his career may be over …We need him to do that …28 games left to play

Edit: SGA is an absolute wrecking ball …saw an article today on insider he’s in second place for MVP …man I got a Birds Eye view of his ability …WOW

Fultz played 18.5 minutes, had 4 points on 2 of 5 shooting and 4 assists.  A non factor in my book.  Those kinds of stats from your starting PG won’t help you win games.

Yeah ignoring we had the lead …but go ahead and do what you do …blame the PG …this entire team lacks shooting for whatever reason
