The Official "Fire Stan Van Gundy" Thread

makes a team player out of Rashard by asking him to play in a different position. pfff.. rofl. Despite that draining his energy making him struggle on both offense and defense right? magicintheuk, are you that 'mitchelluk' guy in all the sentinel comments? Man both of you guys' common sense is equally awful.. Sorry for pointing that out .

The only problem with this team is Dwight Howard

quote: Originally posted by magic berto:In Orlando, Shaq had Horace. In Miami, Shaq had Udonis. In L.A., I admit I can't remember a player who played PF prominently (aside from Malone in his last ditch effort for a ring) but Shaq did have Kobe. Shaq never "grabbed every board, blocked every hot, and scored every time". He had help each and every time. Shaq and Kobe aside those LA championship teams were full of role players playing their last years of their careers. This organization likes to overpay, but not for good coaches. I wish we had Phil... Back in 1995 we could've gotten Riley, but we decided Brian was just fine, another playoff sweep. The dumb-down effect of the Magic media makes people believe we're as good as we can be right now because we don't have a stelar PF -not true. For the millionth time, Foyle and Augie give us the rebounding and offensive hustle we eed at the 4, we don't need a scoring PF Stop making excuses that we don't have Haslem, he isn't much better, just gets a bunch of minutes as a garbage man for the Heat. Both his defense and offense aren't even consistent. .

I was confused by it also...either there were A LOT of cleveland fans there that night, or maybe a lot of the fans aren't exactly thrilled with Stan. Did anyone else who was at the game notice this as well and can comment on it? Usually you hear boos when your coach gets a tech right? well, the cinderella fans will try to deny it but under Stan reality is: 1-the team has a mediocre home record for the offensive talent we have. Lost way too many games here, many in a non-thrilling fashion. Consider with weaker squads Magic teams have looked much tougher at home. The Magic already have several home losing streaks this year. Other than the 04 season where we tanked, that never happens 2-Stan benching JJ probably has something to do with his lack of love. Stan is new here and all but his popularity is way below BHill's right now. YOu stubbornly don't play a popular player and then make excuses for it. You're not gonna be liked. Always have the same boring lineups of guys like Meer and Lewis out of position IMO that only leaves 3 players to make the game interesting. 3-Stan's soft/small lineups are causing Dwight to get less monster dunks. Face it, Dwight's game without the dunks isn't as exciting to watch. People are going to the Arena nowadays because it's nice family entertainment. Not because they expect to see the Magic beat anyone. .

Awww man are we morons for not getting Marion!!!:(

I don't know if it work even with some of Otis' "creative financing" LMAO.. But for what Rashard does, which is mostly offense I'd try to get Marion for him It might be that Lewis is struggling mostly because of Stan but again we haven't seem him at his natural position here.

    Classic Orlando Magic!

& Thanks for reminding me of that video man, never get tired of seeing it. Better music, more exciting players, way nicer pinstripe uniforms, shorts still above the knees, the Goggles!!! Back when the NBA was at its peak and the Magic the hottest team, 1995 Beautiful. .

    Classic Orlando Magic!

..and right now we have Stan van Gumpy and the chemistry-klilling dwarf good times LOL ok ok we have Turk and Howard but that's about all I can get get excited about I really believe Redick would become a classic Magic player (if he got to play) sigh!
  9. quote: Originally posted by bringithomerashard: Dwight giving 50% is 100 times better than Adonal Foyle on the floor. Funny thing is Foyle is not even a true center, he's way undersized. Dumby hasn't figured out if he plays Dwight and Foyle together everything is easier. Takes care of the main reason while we lose (getting killed on 2nd chance points, lack of interior defense, and getting outrebounded). For all Stan talks about defense, he's really worried about offense. That's why he has Lewis at the 4 where we don't need scoring at that position. We need defense and rebounding at 4. He actually believes the INconsistent offense of from a tired-of-banging-down-low Lewis is more valuable than natural defensive hustle, rebounding and easy putbacks we'd get from Foyle every game. I repeat Dwight needs to play with Foyle. Foyle by itself is a very poor substitution with no other bigs. He's only helped him out with Augustine like once or twice, and not surprisingly it's worked very well. Either Foyle and Augustine are perfect to play with Dwight. Foyle especially while not athletic is mobile, is tenacious on D (more than Dwight because he's more experienced) and doesn't pick up the silly fouls Dwight does. The two of them will get less tired than Dwight by himself or Foyle by himself. To get them a breather he can bring Augustine and/or Gortat for a few minutes, that's all. Foyle gets tired you sub Augie, Howard gets tired you can even sub Gortat and Garrity/Cook. Use your players Stan Van Gundy!!! Stop frustrating the fans like BHill did.. actually BHill seemed to have better common sense PS: Dwight is the biggest guy at 6'11" not 7'1" like Shaq was. An almost superhuman effort from him every night at 6'11" he's not frigging Yao Ming. .

Great! 2-If the thread doesn't deserve a reply why are you posting just to say that? You're making the thread better by bothering to reply. That defeats the purpose don't you think 3-if it's too "negative" meaning (realistic) say something funny PS: Gotta Love Matias' dUmbY avatar. Makes me wanna dosomething creative but looking it... it looks pretty dumby already! .

You're right with Otis we didn't stand a chance Gasol was traded for basically nothing and it totally passed Otis by. Imagine him trying to deal with the Suns.. even less of a chance
