Them agreeing on what scores to give bothers me more than just giving bad scores. They admitted to cooking the books, to conspiring on the outcome. NBA has to figure something out here, this can't be repeated. That means the outcome was orchestrated, but the question is were they conspiring on all rounds or just on the final round? It definitely feels as if wade talked them into it knowing he was going to be the deciding vote.

I'd just like for Gordon to use this stuff for fuel... Glad Fultz was outraged too

The one handed dunk off the Fultz assist was the best dunk of the night.

    2019 NBA Draft Thread

Question is if you are Boston and you know Kyrie is leaving, do you trade Brown and Tatum and all those picks for AD still? They'll have 56+ Mil tied up with Hayward and AD. Is that enough 1 - 2 punch?

Yeah, if they offer that package no one can beat that.

True they have more assets but just seem to hesitate to offer fair deals. They're more likely to offer Hayward instead of Tatum and Brown.

    2019 NBA Draft Thread

Would they consider AD for Isaac and Bamba plus filler (Mozgov)? Isaac, Zion and Bamba frontcourt for them and Gordon, AD and Vucevic for us? Not saying I would definitely do it but every GM has to at least take a look. AD is s top talent.

Magic going in for Chris Paul

Man, I haven't been glued to this place in a while. Can't wait for the draft, so we can see some of this talk finally come true. Like Paul in a trade. Maybe Haslem at the 4 and move Shard to the 3. I'd like to see JJ back as well.
  15. The man with the 20/20 gets it. But props to vince, anderson and bass. Hope vince is fine.
  16. Great post. Loved the insight. I live in Kissimmee and make games regulary so I sometimes don't appreciate the opportunity enough. It was cool to see the experience from a different point of view. I watched on TV and the crowd looked and sounded great.

    Stock up and Down

How about every 7 games? Divide the season into 7 game series and that way we can get a good idea of how players are performing in stretches? Just a thought.

And whoever continues to support marijuana prohibition also feeds the cycle. Right as well. GO MAGIC!

However, before you finish the total counts for both you have to consider that the people growing and moving the marijuana around aren't doing it with union workers and shipping through UPS. That's all. Plus, again like it or not one is legal and one isn't. You can fight the fact that it shouldn't be illegal, but you can't say that an illegal product and a legal one should be judged the same way. However, I will agree that the tax benefits would be huge if marijuana was legal. Also, that marijuana should not be lumped in with meth, crack/cocaine and some other drugs. What makes the people who grow and distribute marijuana do all those things? The fact that it is illegal. Those things will be eliminated if it is legalized. The same thing happened during alcohol prohibition. People still wanted their booze and a black market was created to supply it to them. This lead to all kinds of violence and crime that didn't exist when alcohol was legal. When prohibition was repealed, these things went away. There's a reason gangs don't deal in alcohol today. It's legal and you can get it pretty much anywhere, so they can't control the prices and make obscene amounts of money off of it. The same principle applies to marijuana. You are absolutely right, but until it becomes legal if it ever does you're part of the cycle. Again, I'm not saying it's right or wrong about marijuana being legal. However, since today it is illegal, if you buy it you are feeding the cycle.

While marijuana doesn't directly affect as many "users" as alcohol, how many people are killed during the making and distributing of alcohol???? Thats one hell of a blanket statement. Almost sounds like that commercial a while back. If you smoke pot, you support terrorism. That like this statement is completely ridiculous I didn't say anything about terrorism. Nostalgia = Humor

    Wow!
  23. quote: Originally posted by Drunk on Mystery:There's nothing that will demonstrate your ignorance of what constitutes post play faster than saying "He has no post game except dunks" like it's a bad thing, since if your post game nets you dunks, your post game has done it's job as well as could be done. There is a remarkable, flabbergasting belief that is perpetuated constantly that a player's post game is entirely determined by what shots they take often, or even that they feel comfortable taking. Not only is that entirely false, it's shockingly ridiculous. A player's post game is, in reality, probably no more than 20% what shots they're shooting, and that includes their decision making on which shots they take(which plays into them taking shots they're comfortable with, and not forcing shots). Positioning, sealing your man, moving off your defender, foul draw, post passing, re-posting, handling entry passes, working your defender, and so on are all FAR more significant portions of what constitutes a player's post game than their shot variety. "But DOM, you charismatic stallion," I can hear some of you saying, "What about player's like Hakeem, Duncan and Shaq? They had a whole plethora of different shots in their arsenal." This is true, and it's why they are better players than Dwight is now, but to compare Dwight negatively to 3 hall of famers, is not an argument, particularly when Dwight compares very favorably to two of them when they were Dwight's age. One thing people have come to forget about Hakeem, thanks mostly due to the unbelievable post player he was at the prime of his career in the early to mid-90s was how unbelievably raw he was offensively coming into the league in 1984. After the drubbing he gave everyone on his way to an MVP and two finals MVPs, it's easy to forget he'd been in the league for 10 years at the time of his first title. At age 22, Hakeem averaged 20.6/11.9/1.4/2.7/1.2. At age 22, Dwight averaged 20.7/14.2/1.3/2.1/.9. It should be noted that Hakeem was a better FT shooter and was taking 4 more FGAs a game, but Dwight had a much higher FG%, and that there was a gargantuan difference in FT Draw between the two, in favor of Dwight. Then there's Shaq. At age 22, Shaq averaged 29.3, 11.4, 2.7, 2.4, .9. Several stats are higher, though it should be noted that there is a huge discrepancy here between Shaq and Dwight in terms of both FGAs(20.2 to 11.9) and Usage rate(31.9, first in the NBA to 24.2). I won't argue Shaq wasn't better, but I will argue that the difference was smaller than most think, especially when considering Shaq was an even worse FT shooter, and who didn't further develop his post game until after he took off for LA. In fact, Dwight last year compares incredibly similarly to Shaq's first year in Miami. Shaq took a a couple more FGAs, and was a better passer, but Dwight was a better rebounder and had a better FT draw. Actually, it should be noted that Dwight's FTA/FGA rate last year was distinctly higher than anything Shaq has ever posted. But the most important thing to recognize is that if Dwight spins off his man to get an easy alley-oop dunk, he's used his post game. If he seals his man in transition in the paint, to get an easy layup and-1, that's using his post game. If he catches the ball, spins baseline, and dunks on someone, that was using his post game. In fact, if someone uses their post game to get easy dunks, they're clearly using a pretty solid post game. Completely agree. Some people talk about dunks like they are a negative, but again if they look at field goal percentage and the field goal attempts Howard takes while putting up 20 a game, he is one of the most efficient players around.

    Ball Junkie or The Thief

Real GM?? Really?? Junkie hands down.
  25. Run the offense through him and play from the inside out. Post moves or not, opposing teams will double team him anyway. Then let our shooters do what they do. However, he does need inside help.
