  1. From the same source, he's also tied with Tim Duncan for 8th in double-doubles.

    PSA: Free Tijuana Tacos

The Tacos are great, and few people know about them since they announce that we have a taco coming after the game when most have left or are leaving. Unfortunately, the chicken sandwiches (which you got last year if the team made 10 free throws) now come only on certain nights. On those nights, inside the front cover of each program is an ad for one of three sandwiches. At some time during the game they have a "Plinko Game" in which they select which ad will be good for a free sandwich.
  3. I'm looking forward to the return of "What did Hedo say?"
  4. Would Nash be as good or better than Jameer on our team? Sure, if he's healthy. You are talking about an old player who is kept on the floor by a training staff that is so good that they turned old Grant Hill into an iron man. So we would have to trade for Nash AND the Suns' training staff. Better yet, just get the trainers.
  5. It really was. It has to be phenomenal for a tightwad like me to pay $12 for a sandwich. Unfortunately, it is no longer available.
  6. So this guy is saying the 16 oz beer used to be large and now is small and has gone down in price. That seems as strange as the comments about the turkey sandwich. The turkey sandwich at the Carvery at the old area was huge and very good for turkey. It came with a giant pickle, and there were a variety of sauces to put on it. I remember it as $7, but I might be wrong. The Carvery also had the single best item at the arena, the $12 filet mignon sandwich. I would get it two or three times a year as a special treat. I think it's $17.50 this year, but I can't tell. The Carvery has moved to the Club level and is not available to us peons. I've tried to read the menu from the escalator, but it's hard to see. I have looked at this year's turkey sandwich. It doesn't look as good or as large. A spoonful each of cranberry sauce and coleslaw doesn't add value IMO.
  7. Good point, but for sure this is screwed up. One has to question the fan cost index data when it says you pay $5 for a program. What I do know is that I bought the $5.75 draft beer every regular season game last year, and that beer is $7.50 now. And I just happen to have a "souvenier" glass from last year, just measured it's capacity, and it was the 16 oz beer (the size given in the table). There is a small beer, although I have never seen anyone with one, and that may now be $5.75, but it definitely isn't the 16 oz size. A hot dog that was $4 last year is $6 now. There is a small soda, and that may be $3.50, but it is not 16 oz. It's probably 8 oz. In other words, this "data" is a work of fiction.
  8. Gee those prices sound pretty reasonable. The problem is, those are LAST YEAR'S PRICES. The beer that was $5.75 last year is $7.50 this year. I haven't had a soft drink this year, but it's over $4 (4.50 I think) -- one of the smaller changes. Hot dog is $6.

The Works: Sizing Up the Celtics and Magic

Definition of INDIGENCE : a level of poverty in which real hardship and deprivation are suffered and comforts of life are wholly lacking The only interpretation I can come up with is that he thinks our players are underpaid.

OT: League to expand Technical rules for Refs

He has a point. One of the things I appreciate in watching the WNBA is how little flopping there is. Not that there aren't players that try, but the usual result is her team playing 4 on 5 until she gets up and catches up. Announcers express disgust at flopping, and refs tend to ignore it. It isn't considered OK. All you have to do to stop flopping in the NBA is set a policy that a ref can't call a foul if he doesn't see the contact. Then fine him any time reviews show a foul called when there was no visible illegal contact but dramatic reaction by the "foulee." Much of what is called a foul in the NBA is called good D in the W. There's a reason for this. WNBA centers are big, strong women, with about the height and weight range of NBA shooting guards. If she has "sharp elbows," she will break noses, cut faces, knock teeth loose, and cause a concussion from time to time. If Dwight got away with what she did, there would be fatalities. The guys have to be kept on shorter leashes because of their size and strength.

    Cops Called on Dwight Howard

Of course. The kid was excited to be with Daddy and then gets taken back to day care and told he can't be with Daddy. Traumatic. And all Dwight's fault.

    While CP3 rumors swirl...

"Back from Bahamas w/the fam. Evrybdy askng about the Heat. My focus is gettng this ring-not beatng one team. Well, back to business." That's Jameer, and why I want him on my team.

Poor dope. If I remember correctly, didn't Darko go to Memphis for 7 million a year when he left Orlando..?? Yes.
