Who will we replace Stan (generally considered to be a top 5 coach) with?
If it comes down to Dwight signing long term or Stan, than Dwight, but we better not lose both. That will put us back in the stone ages.
-
For the biggest issue with Lopez are the injuries, which have been repeated. He simply isn't a talent worth the risk with his contract imo. There is the "we must get something for Dwight" idea, but getting an injured salary cap hit is worse than nothing.
-
If we fire Stan, we will be getting a Johnny Davis. He might dress like someone else, talk like someone else, but he will be Johnny Davis.
-
Its just all the stuff thats happened this year, really lately; from teammates spilling their convos to the media, to the coaching issue, to being booed at home, to players not checking on him, he's hurt physically but really hurting emotionally more
What do you think his requesting to be traded has done to the team, the fans, the coaches??
This is totally hypocritical.

Yes! Read my earlier post! Great point. If he did have a herniated disc, virtually impossible to do that 20/20 -- seriously. Something id DEFINITELY not right here. DWIGHT IS QUITTING ON THE TEAM THIS SEASON. YaBoyR, any clarification on this? Norman and I are calling out your boy faking this injury!
Once a liar -- always a liar.
Not all herniated disks are created equal and herniated /= bulging.
Think something along the lines of being diagnosed nearsighted: Is the disk a 20/30 vision diagnosis or 20/500?

I do see your point about the fresh voice. Ultimately, I think it will happen, and there may even be some benefits from it. Everything I've read and seen/heard with my own eyes indicates that Dwight is the main player with a problem with Stan. Surely this doesn't mean he is truly the only player that would be glad to see Stan go. But it DOES mean that our situation is different from the one in NY. The Knicks had had several bad seasons under D'Antoni before the cavalry arrived last season. Then, even with the influx of talent, they still were under performing. That is a far cry from the success the Magic have enjoyed under Stan. That honeymoon period with the new guy is usually only a short-term phenomenon.
To any fresh blood argument:

Dwight has made it so hard to root for this team. I don't care how good he is, dude's a douche and I'm behind Stan 100%. This entire year has been full of shady ass "business" decisions and I'm glad Stan was the one guy to always work hard and be honest. He deserves much better than this.
Agree.
Barring Dwight signing a 5 year extension, which road leads to a better Magic team in the future: Just getting rid of Dwight like he wants or getting rid of Dwight like he wants AND Stan like Dwight wants?
Like Woj said in the article, Stan is a top five coach. I can't wait for another Johnny Davis to take over. Will be great.

I like your logic for having him (Rasheed Wallace I presume) but I'd be afraid he would upset whats going well for now.
Where does the part where he is missing a couple of knees come into play?

John Denton @JohnDenton555
Wow, shocking that @DwyaneWade would openly mock Dwight Howard for showing "loyalty" toward the Magic. Strange from usually classy guy.
What I got from DWade's tweet is that he's scared.

Most important move will be to get rid of Otiz.
-
deals can still be made after 3pm. we made the biggest deal of the day regardless!!
How does this work?

Thank you in advance for when Otis is fired.
If I had any +1 left, I would give you one.
On topic: There is no doubt at the presser that Dwight and Alex worked together in this, and Otis was simply there at best, or at worst, it was despite Otis' best efforts.
Also, I think it is pretty clear that Alex is calling all shots now.
-
Won't be reporting what? That Dwight is resigning here? Or he won't be reporting on Dwight at all? What a shame that would be, what a clown.
It's like Cartman: "Screw you guys, I'm going home."
"Good, we don't want you here anyway."

Sorry I'm a little late to the party here, but did ya'll enjoy Dwight OWNING that ESPN reporter??
Best moment of this 4 month long drudgery. I wish more players did that tbh.
-
What a *****ING DOUCHE QUESTION BY ESPN REPORTER.
And AWESOME answer by Dwight.
-
You can definitely take from this press conference that Alex is the total reason why Dwight is staying. Otis is an afterthought, if not a major part of the problem.
-
You know, Dwight could just be a genius: Doing this forcing the team (management) to really refocus on getting quality pieces and not follow the path of the Cavs making moves to keep Lebron.
-
Most of those restricteds will probably be matched. Monta, Iggy, Josh Smith will all definitely available though.
Not that there is a chance, but could imagine the defensive POWERHOUSE of Iggy, J. Smith and Dwight????????????

How difficult is it for these reporters to understand that the all-in and opt-in conversations were TWO different occurrences?

Adrian Wojnarowski @WojYahooNBA
Three Magic players tell Y! Sports (2 to @SpearsNBAYahoo) and one to me that Dwight Howard did not tell them he was opting in for next year.
:beatcomp:
Didn't Dwight tell his teammates that he was "all-in" for this season and SEPARATELY inform the Magic front office about his decision to not opt out?
-
In all the excitement let's keep in mind: CLee gave his word that Dwight will not continue with the Magic.
Urine, tear and saliva samples for evidence please.

What's the most people we have had looking at one thread at once?

BeastfromtheEast please provide documentation of your sources in the form of blood and stool samples. I like to be sure what I am reading is legitimate before I get excited.
Thank you.

Christian Bruey My source has just told me that Dwight told the team he is going to opt in for the final year of his contract. @wftvsports @chris_broussard

Dwight lacks maturity and grace. Seriously tired of him.
That being said, I hope he resigns, but only because of basketball. Outside of that he is dead to me as a fan.
