FANS Game Thread Bulls @ Magic 3/11 7PM

Didn't get a chance to watch the agme. Was the Gortat/Howard lineup used or was Howard out of the game too much? If so, how did it go?

Gortat is my favorite athlete in any sport.

    Sick

I want the Pistons. BEaing them in teh playoffs will get them and their trolls off our back.
  4. Dwight and Gortat were playing well together. It wasn't like they were just two big stiffs. The help defense coming over the top they gave to each other shot down all post play and the same goes for and penetration. They didn't have to try so hard to stay in front because they knew the other had their backs. Offensively, there didn't seem to be many spacing problems. I think this was due to the fact that Gortat plays the pick and roll so well by rolling so hard.
  5. And with this rotation, Gortat would not only be on the court with Howard, but his backup minutes. That could add-up to nearly starter minutes and we might be able to keep gortat around if he starts seeing time like that.
  6. Omg, Dwight and Gortat. They eat the whole floor up. If we can make the lineup work this well with the two of them we can win a title this year....

  8. I am never disappointed by someone who plays with as much heart as he does.
  9. Last night's game against teh Bulls is case in point. The team was waiting for something to happen, to get closer than 8 points. That something is Might Mouse. It was not hterel. Alston is no thtat type of player for us. We need to bea better TEEAM the whole game without Jameer, because he isn't here to bring us out of holes anymore.

    Brian Cook Appreciation Thread

Whenever he stepped on the court my first reaction always was, who is that guy and where is the NBA player stuffed and gagged in a locker so this guy could wear his uniform out on the court and how did nobody notice?
  14. I am so excited. Giving up a low first for a quality player is awesome. Otis is back on top again in my books.

    To much faith In Turk?

Turk is not a Point Guard! Yes its amayzing that this guy can handle the ball the way he does, but its clear now to everyone who had questions if he can handle the point or not. The answer is ABSOLUTLY NOT! Turk is good had handling the ball in small spirts when we can catch the defense off guard. But he is not capable of being our main desision maker on the floor. Its becomming far to painful to watch having turk turn the ball over on consecutive posesions! Durring last nights game vs the hornests , it was turk that single handeedly gave New Orleans that 15pt lead. I heard Stan on ESPN WIRED , durring the game telling the assistant coaches that there is no need to yell at the players because no game plan or adjustment they have made has worked and he put the blame on hiself and the coaching staff. Well Stan budy, ITS NOT YOUR FAULT! Turk turning the ball over a million times , on multipul back to back posessions is not a coaching error! This is a major problem as we close the season out, im not sure what otis was thinking but its clear Lue/johnson but mainly turk handleing the point is not gunna cut it. If we stay as we are there is no way we will get out of the second round come playoff time, and sad to say we could esily be eliminated in the 1st round, with our Turnovers and lack of offensive flow the way it stands now. NELSON WE MISS YOU BAD BUDY! GET WELL SOON! Because thats our only hope, Otis will not admit he got this wrong and fix it! TO MUCH FAITH IN TURK = BAD JU JU! QFT. Turk plays best in a 6th man role in my opinion. He may play started minutes, but that role is his best fit.

He practices and hits them in practice, he just can't hit them in a game...it's 100% mental. To think that he doesn't care and isn't frustrated is very stupid on your part. I never said he doesn't care. I said that I wish he cared half as much. Putting words into my mouth and then calling me stupid for them is asinine. ok, thinking he's more concerned with his superman persona than his ft struggles is STUPID too. happy? You are a fool if you think FT% means more to him than the adoration of millions of fans and what that translates into in the bank. So let me ask you this, do you really think he would trade in his slam dunk competition, the fan adoration and the "Superman" title to be a 65% free throw shooter? Yeah....right. You are a fool if you seriously think that any All-Star performance could get you the even half the fame a ring would. And if he were to shoot, say, 70% for the rest of his career, I think we would be a favorite for years to come. Man to suggest an athelete cares less about winning games than he does making fans is absolutely insulting By your rational, Robert Horry should be one of the all tiem fan favorites. Why is is that Dwight is the top vote getting in the all star game after his super man dunk, and not all the other players in the leauge based on the number of rings they have? Dwight winning a ring would not increase his fanbase anywhere but within the Orlando Magic community. Or was his workmanlike (but very important) performance of the Olympics that has catapulted him to be the number one vote getter. Yeah, that must be it.... So, Lebron's stardom is just taking off and is waiting on a precipace until he wins a title? OR AI's career of being one of the fan favorites in the NBA in recent memory? Kobe became a fan favorite as soon as he won his first title right? That is what put him over the top? Not winning th dunk contest? Or playing with Shaq in a huge market? Yeah, nobody caired about Kobe until he finally won one. T-Mac, bah. Now Derek Fisher. There is a STAR! Or Shaq, nobody gave a crap about him until he won his first title right? Or Kevin Garnett, man it's s great thing his carreer got validated recently because certainly his fan base was struggling until he won last year. Same with Karl Malone, John Stockton, Reggie Miller, CP3.... The fact that the consensus is that Lebron James will jump ship for a bigger market because of a "secret" Nike contract speaks volumes as to what peopel think matters to NBA players. Lebron has been on record for saying he wants to be first billionare. Or that story that if Europe would pay him enough that he would go play there, that certainly is all about titles. This is the NBA and not the NFL. Careers are not validated by titles. I remember when Carmelo Anthony was being interviewed with Darko pre draft and someone asked him if he would rather be a sixth man of the year every years winning titles or a superstar in the league on a sub-500 team throughout his career. He answered honestly and said the sub-500 superstar and that if anyone in the league told you otherwise they would be lying. So, call me a fool then for thinking that the fanbase doesn't follow those who do the little things for their teams in order to win games.

Yeah....right. if he stopped caring so much about his ft% it might actually go up but it's morons like you in the media that keep harping on it...just like they did with shaq and it gets in his head. asking a pointless 'what if' question to try and illustrate your point...or lack thereof. That's classic. Ahh yes, the technique to achieving success, not caring. All the greats of the world have employed it. Your stupid is rubbing off on me, so time for me to leave you on your journey while you...

    Trade for Amare? True?

Barring the realities of the trade (or lack there of) Amare would never play with Dwight, his ego wouldn't let it. When Amare found out he wouldn't be starting at center for the Olympics, he withdrew his name from consideration for the team.

    Possible Off Season Move

I would love Rasheed here. He seems like the type of player that would be willing to come and take a little bit of a pay cut to win championships with the Magic. I think he is at the point that he wants to cmeent himself as far as legacy goes.
  23. Dunno about you guys, but I feel like I lost something special with Jameer's injury. We were all talk about championships and the like, I really truely believed we had as good of a chance as any other team. Now?? The absolute best that I can think of is getting to ECF, but I think that is a stretch tbh.
  24. I am a Magic fan. I absolutely hate the NBA, the officiating, the manner with which teams build themselves, the style of free agency, the way "teams" shift with players (I find it almsot impossible to be a fan of a non-star player as they move so much from team to team), the attitude of most of the "stars." If it was not of rhte Magic , I would never watch the NBA. As for fixing games don't think so.....but there is so much else to hate. :P
