    Dwight Howard's impression of Lebron

That was Dwight's impersonation of Billy Bob Thornton's character Karl from Sling Blade doing an impersonation of LeBron James.

  7. From Brian Schmitz's blog on OrlandoSentinel.com : Magic shooting guard Grant Hill said he still had some pain in his left foot and will sit out tonight's game against the Milwaukee Bucks at Amway Arena. The Magic had expected Hill to play, but he did not participate in the Monday shootaround other than to take part in shooting drills. Keith Bogans will take his spot int he lineup.
  8. http://sportsillustrated.cnn.c...d.Celtics/index.html quote: The Big Three -- Ray Allen, Kevin Garnett and Paul Pierce -- play the game right, but I'm tired of seeing Garnett in his Big & Tall Men's Shop suit standing on the sidelines chest-bumping teammates. I don't like Kendrick Perkins; I don't know why. Eddie House wears his socks too high, for my tastes. I also wouldn't mind if, just one time after hitting a three-pointer, he didn't go frolicking back down court like he just won the lottery. Big Baby Davis is, well, a big baby. Stephon Marbury is a walking, trash-talking billboard for underachieving pro-athlete dysfunction. Brian Scalabrine -- didn't he used to be on "Saved By The Bell"? Then there's Ragin' Rajon Rondo, emerging as a top point guard and a top punk artist. In the Bulls series, he stuck out his leg to trip Kirk Hinrich in Game 5, smacked Brad Miller across the mouth later in Game 5 and flung Hinrich into the scorer's table in Game 6. A friend of mine excused each act as "borderline dirty." Feh! Before becoming a Celtic, I believe Rondo was a bagman in the John Dillinger gang. The guy has a general distaste for all things Boston basically, but his impressions of the players were amusing to me. I would add Pierce to the "big baby" group - His drive-to-the-lane-make-contact-and-act-like-you-were-hit-by-a-bus move gets a little old every single game.

  10. #3 Orlando vs. #6 Detroit Oh, CRAP. I know things will change and the standings will shift, but it's still a possibility. Detroit is regressing, and Orlando looks to be a bit re-energized. I want to beat Detroit in a playoff series more than anything, but at the same time they make me really nervous. They've consistently been the kryptonite to our Superman. What I don't get is how a team like Cleveland (a team we matchup well with in my opinion and could beat in a playoff series) could destroy Detroit the way they did last Sunday. Yet, every time we play Detroit it's a tough battle - and in the playoffs it's a battle we continue to lose. So is this the year? The year to beat Detroit in the playoffs? What say you? Would you rather bypass the Pistons come playoff time, or hit them head on and show them that we are the better team?

He didn't confront Sheed in the post once, who seems to get amped up when he faces a big-time post presence. Gotcha. Dangit, Dwight! Work on those jumpers!

  14. Stephon Marbury WILL NEVER wear an Orlando Magic uniform. These "sports writers" are wasting their time with their BS theories. Marbury would officially become a cancer spreading across everything that has been successful in Orlando this season.

D12 How awesome is my Hand?

Glad to see some others were annoyed by Dwight's antics early on vs. Boston. If he hits a running hook shot that gives the Magic the lead in the 4th quarter, okay that's fine. Game winner? Sure, by all means. BUT COME ON. His first two shots that go in within the first few minutes of the 1st quarter? Uncalled for. For the rest of the game, Dwight pretty much laid an egg and was fouled out. I sure hope someone called him out for it after the game (SVG or Ewing preferably). It reminded me of the garbage DeShawn Stevenson would do (still does?) - he would hit a three and wave his hand in his face (the "you can't see me" bit) - all while his team is down by 32 points mind you.
  16. http://blogs.orlandosentinel.com/sports_magic/2009/01/n...rd-this-season-.html quote: If more proof was needed that the Magic don't win by Dwight Howard alone, it was Tuesday's news of point guard Jameer Nelson being named the Eastern Conference's player of the week, his second such honor this season. Nelson averaged 24.7 points, 8.0 assists, 2.7 rebounds and 1.7 steals in leading Orlando to a perfect 4-0 road sweep last week. He was sterling in fourth-quarter runs against the San Antonio Spurs and L.A. Lakers, and hit 5-of-5 3-pointers against the Sacramento Kings. If Jameer is not added to the All-Star team this year, the NBA is a complete joke.

  19. http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2008/basketball/nba/12...oundtable/index.html Some of SI's NBA "writers" weigh in on the Magic's impressive start. Tidbits: Most believe Magic are the 3rd best in the East behind Celtics/Cavs (a quick look at the standings would tell you that, nice research!). Jack McCallum doesn't like Rashard Lewis very much. Chris Mannix gives mad love to Orlando and Jameer Nelson in particular. "Fast developing into one of the league's top point guards."

    Stephon Marbury To Magic??

quote: It seems Stephon Marbury could get his buyout and release from the Knicks Monday, and there'll be no shortage of suitors, though as I often say, Life is too short to have Marbury on your team. Anyway, it seems the Mavs, Heat, Warriors, Raptors, Magic, Wizards, Timberwolves (now that would be funny) and Suns also seem like possibilities, though Dallas, Miami and Golden State seem to have expressed the most interest if Marbury is freed and they have to pay just a veteran's minimum. (NBA.com) Not too keen on adding poison to the locker room. Slim to none this happens.
