Apparently they think like we think and believe he's fixable by getting him out of Minnesota

There is some merit to it though. It's legitimately debatable. We can't argue fit improvements on offense because Oubre is a shooter like Gordon is a shooter but he is a defensive improvement and would put the ball in fultz's hands. And a first in this draft isn't great. But we're still overpaying in a vacuum to avoid resigning Fournier.

If golden State values Wiggins like we valued Wiggins what kind of deal could we have come up with to match that?

Is a first rounder worth possibly downgrading slightly but getting out of a Fournier decision this summer? Debatable. We'd get trashed in all of the trade grade stories

He's relegated to the bench here and paid like a bench player so I don't see the problem

Yeah. That's kind of what I'm talking about. From our vantage point he's problematic and he's been on the team forever so he's probably not tradable. But we're just making inferences with a tiny part of the picture. I hope the front office didn't sign a player to an untradable contract and they have 100% of the picture so they would know better. That's what I'm hoping.

Aminu isn't terrible. This isn't even a me trying to justify a move the magic made thing, look at how people who cover Portland talk about him. Look at how West coast media members talk about him. He's a player held in high esteem amongst objective third parties.

That's the debatable one and the one I was against. It was time we moved on. You just gotta hope he has significant value on the trade market and the front office has objective proof of that which we don't.

It's only bad if they're untradable. Ross was a good signing regardless because he has some value and 12-13 million contracts are crazy important for salary filler in trades because you can trade him for a guy making 7 million or a guy making 17 million. I'm never going to regret that move. Aminu was fine and would have been all over the place in rumors this week until he blew out his knee.

He's trying to find the balance between getting his team involved and taking over. The pendulum swung way too far to one side last night

MCW is probably the long term backup. Ideally you run something like Fultz-Wiggins-Gordon-Isaac-Bamba (because with this lineup you don't need scoring from your center) MCW-Ross-a 3 and D guy who can reliably shoot. If that's iwundu great (and it could be iwundu as he's now having that weird stretch where he's shooting 45% from 3 again) but it just has to be a guy who can reliably shoot and reliably get you 9 ppg. -okeke at 4-a Bobby Portis/Randle/face up center at backup 5 who can get you double figures. Then you fill out the rest of the team with a developmental guy. A veteran third string pg who can play for a month while MCW is hurt. 1 or 2 Gary Clark type hustle guys. And a giant tree trunk type center for situational play.

Last year he shot 42.4% on open and wide open threes. This year he's shooting 36.9% on open and wide open threes. Though to be fair, wide open threes accounted for 12% of his offense last year and 7% of his offense this year.

Something like that. If DJ was healthy I definitely think they'd do DJ and Fournier.

The problem this year is missing Isaac. He was very important to everything we do. He rim protects for Vucevic. He makes us a weird team to play against. He makes opponents have to make tough decisions with lineups. He gives us positional size and the ability to go small. Missing him and we're not much different than the teams over the past several years.

So typically by the end of the season guys tend to get pretty close to hitting their typical averages. When Vucevic had a hot start last year he had a decline to normalize his shooting numbers. When Fournier had an abnormally good shooting November his numbers declined since and he should end up in the 37% orbit by the end of the year. Gordon's play recently is showing signs that he's moving in the positive direction. Ross isn't doing that. He's still bad. He was bad early and he's bad recently and I don't know what we're supposed to do with that. His numbers aren't normalizing

You missed a pretty good one. Score was pretty much single digits the entire game until they pulled away in the last 5 minutes.

It's one thing when he's a 4th year guy. You're held to a higher standard when you're a 29 Year old on a 100 million contract getting the most shots on the team.
