How many times have we heard the Kentucky of college football say this in the past two decades? Honestly, I think a big concern for Calipari at a high profile school is that his dealings with World Wide Wes will come under a lot more scrutiny that they ever did at Memphis. Notre Dame? or Michigan?

I don't know what Calipari will do, but I can promise you he won't be dragging the top 3 recruits in the country with him to Kentucky. Cousins, maybe. Henry, would either stay or go to KU. Wall isn't even committed to Memphis yet & has pretty serious ties to the other schools he's considering, none of which are UK. Calipari has been linked to about 5 schools this year and granted none are as powerful as UK, but I would temper my hopes a little. He loves the attention and is a master manipulator. I would bet he only goes to UK if Memphis doesn't pony up the same $. I think the challenge of UK would appeal to him, but he also knows he can't do at UK what he does at Memphis. Memphis developed into a solid team this year, but would have lost 10 games easy if they played in the SEC & probably never developed into a quality team. Don't know all the details Kitno...I've heard that Memphis actually offered Calapari a counter offer larger than Kentucky. What I do know is that Calapari is now the new head coach at the University of Kentucky...and that makes me very happy...trust me, I definitely don't hate the Memphis program, j/k... Anyway, one coach down...hopefully more of your stud players to follow him... Good Time are Back in Wildcat Land!!! At the end of the day there are only two things you can be sure of. Memphis will miss Calipari & Calipari used both schools to get exactly what he wanted. This isn't sour grapes, but I think Calipari is going to find out what Bobby Bowden has learned in recent years. It's take more than talent to win in major conferences & major conference play exposes a lot of weaknesses simple recruiting can overcome outside the major conferences. Calipari is a poor man's Petino, that worked great at Memphis eventually, not so sure he'll enjoy the same success at UK. agreed. it doesnt seem fair though. They essentially get to combine two recruiting classes. Now the squid is going to screw alot of the current kentucky players out of scholarships. How is that fair to them? Fair ?!?!? We're talking about a system that pays it's coaches multi-million dollar annual salaries, while the players get nothing (not even the option to market themselves). Oh, that's right. They get an education. How could I forget. The NCAA is the most morally corrupt organization in all of sports. They make Vince McMahon and Don King look like choir boys. yeah, but this sucks more.

Don't let cunningstunt, Jareth Cutestory, and Kberto read this it might lead to their early deaths from shock. lol i didn't see anything in the article that shocked me, i took unc to win it all in my brackets because tyler has a whole team around him and blake is a beast of a person and they both have apparent intensity, why was i supposed to die of shock? Something about Tyler not being first round material sounds like these scouts disagree with your opinion: "Tyler is more athletic than people think. He doesn't have cement feet. In fact, he's deceptively quick. He moves well around the basket. He has a better perimeter shot than Griffin right now and he's competed at a very high level for four years. He certainly shoots better from the free-throw line than the 59 percent Griffin shoots, too." as a qualifier, they are memphis scouts.

Just curious is a lot of that hate stemming back to when Spurrier was the coach and he would run up the score, etc. Or is it because there are bandwagon fans? I hope not the latter becuase there will always be bandwagoners for any team that does well, especially if that team is from the state you live in. yeah, but it would be nice if they knew some of the other players some bandwagoners dont know anyone except for tebow.

Furthermore, calling him a big is kind of a stretch. What's his NCCA listed height 6'9? So in reality he's probably around 6'7. When you're that short and play PF, you better be really strong or athletic to survive. I don't know if Tyler meets those qualities. I'm a UNC basketball fan, but I'm just being honest. props for the most truthful analysis ever.
  20. quote: Originally posted by cunningstunt: quote: Originally posted by KillingInTheNameOf:College: All 3 Florida schools lack tradition & their fans are as a whole d-bags who think college football began in the 80's as a result. All 3 fans bases lack respect & appreciation for the college game. The game day interraction between UF & FSU fans is disgraceful. UM has already proven time and time again they are fairweather fans & their fan base has demonstrated they are little more than Oakland Raider wanna be's. Notre Dame has such a sense of entitlement the leprichan should replace uncle sam on welfare checks. Can't stand the Cowboys, Braves, & Lakers lol i remember how i became a canes fan, it's because i like my teams to be built out of speed and have a strong defense, and growing up in florida the dolphins and the canes provided that to me. plus if one of my guys knows how to pull off a drive by or mug someone it's a plus, alright i'm kidding. but growing up in florida means that you follow college football and if you don't your an outcast, you better pick a team, be behind them or just don't talk at all, and if you switch anywhere in between just move out of the state. also, the fact that it's in state talent that usually gets the job done is a sense of pride for alot of people. i've met nice fans of each college as well, that inter state rivalry gets pretty heated down here though, and it's fun to watch as long as your not throwing fists or something retarded. I love the rivalries. Yes it gets heated. Yes people do stupid things. But the most fun i've ever had at a football game was this year vs UF. We got our asses handed to us but it was so much fun going crazy in the pouring rain.

We all know Memphis wasn't as good as their record said, but c'mon dude, 10 losses in the SEC? The SEC isn't the Big East, it isn't even the Big East bottom eight. No, I'm saying if they played in an elite conference they would have lost an additional 7 games. Memphis looked ragged early in the season, developed a lot of confidence running over conference USA opponents, and then blew Gonzaga out on their home floor. But, take away those easy victories, and I doubt that this team would have ever found themselves, & developed that confidence. In a tough conference, it's far more likely they just struggle all year long, and that's exactly the line Memphis took two years ago as well. Put Arizona in Con USA this year and they probably develop just like Memphis. Put Memphis is a legit conference and they are probably just like Arizona. nah, i dont buy that. All teams have a crappy 5 or 6 games to start out the season. Arizona and Memphis are quite similar though. Both programs draw in a lot of top notch talent year after year. Since when is the SEC an elite conference for basketball? The Atlantic 10 has more competition. of course it depends on what conference you put them in. In the big 10 and the ACC they would lose 5ish game. In the Big east they would lose more. not only because of talent level, the big east plays a rougher type of basketball that doesnt fit into memphis' style of play. They dont have the right type of players.

The SEC isnt good enough for memphis to lose 10 games there. In some other years maybe, but what did any of the SEC schools do this year to warrent that statement?
