    Dwight Howard Summer 2012

Funny thing is, I think Lebron going to Miami has helped us. Dwight wants everybody to like him. He prides himself on being the nice guy, the comedian. Look at the reaction to Lebron now, the amount of people who hate him. Dwight doesn't want that.

how many points in the paint did we give up in those games? Maybe teams have stopped trying to challenge him as often?

    Orlando potential suitor for Nash?

not to mention he played pretty well (17ppg 43%shooting) against who many think is the best defensive pg in the nba (Rondo) in the playoffs.

Does Otis need to be fired? Revisited!!!! You know you missed it!

Our drafting has been pretty much up to par in the league. Fran was terrible as Sean May, Joey Graham, and Granger were at least projected as late lotto picks. You cant use guys like Rondo or Millsap because they were projected nowhere near #11. In 2006 we were looking at foye, carney, brewer, and JJ. carney, brewer, and jj were all availabe when we picked. We ended up with the best player out of that group. Many draft experts had fields going undrafted. When you look at teams like this you can find faults with anyone. Look at the Spurs. 04 they drafted beno udrih, could have had Varejao, Ariza. 05 Ian Mahinmi, could have had David Lee, Bass, Illyasova, Turiaf, Blatche, Amir Johnson, Gortat. 07 they drafted Splitter, could have had Carl Landry, Glen Davis, Marc Gasol, Sessions. 08 they traded goran dragic for malik hairston. 09 in the second round they selected Jack McClinton, could have had AJ price, patty mills. 10 James Anderson, could have had Landry Fields.

He averaged 19 points per game in the playoffs last year on 48%/39.4%/82%

    That's a 20.4% increase in production. Nelson has 7.8 assists/36 minutes. Rose has 7.8/36; Conley 6.9/36; Parker 7.4/36;

can't knock his offense at all but i doubt he's going to get all that better defensively.

Stephen Curry is the worst defender in the league.

your hyperbole is irritating. do you want me to go game by game and count all of the "elite" type of games he's had in his career. You know I'll do it. Though we should all be happy you're on Jameer's case now. The vast majority of your opinions end up being false or fictitious.

Jameer is playing better than Collison. If you're just looking to critique those guys Steph Curry might be the worst defender in the NBA but he's an offensive genius.

    Zach Randolph a target?

or we could trade them arenas and let zach expire at the end of the year.

yeah. Usually the technicals that dwight gets are legitimate based on the written rules. The problem is it seems like Dwight is the only player that's being held to those rules.

    Trade Dwight.

Don't mention that Dwight might leave. We're all more comfortable dealing with that in the moment if it ever happens and we don't want to think about it otherwise. On the other hand, i got bored yesterday and made that post you saw. Not really serious but i do figure our best move would be 1.LAC 2. memphis 3. idk OKC? (assuming you cant get the "elite" guys [Wade/Lebron/paul/williams/durant/kobe]). I came to the conclusion that our best bet would be to turn Dwight into one great young player, a salary dump, and as many lotto picks as possible. Thats as far as i want to take this conversation though.

we lost both games. Dwight is our leader. Dwight had phenomenal (not even a bit of hyperbole there) first halfs and disappeared during the second half in both games. I guess it doesn't matter when you score your points (if you score 40 points in one quarter or 10 in every quarter it should hold the same value) but I'd like to see Dwight play dominant games instead of dominant stretches.

Jameer can do that. He did that most of november. He did that in the playoffs last year. He did that for the entire 07-08 season before his injury. For some reason he's deferring too much since the trade. Hopefully he gets back to where he should be.
  18. at least the playoffs are usually night games during the summer.

not much you can argue about there. If you're going to mock your opponent at least win the game after wards. You can argue that goofing off before the game messed with our focus.

Ken Berger's latest on futures of Howard, Arenas

Gentlemen, I think the lot of us suffer an affliction of living in the moment. Collectively, we remember the recent struggles of our clan and disregard the historical norms of these athletes. The statement that one, Jameer Nelson, can not fulfill his duties during the pinnacle moments in his career is preposterous! Poppycock I say! His detractors need only look at his recent performance in the playoffs to understand that his slandering does not hold up to the most elementary of investigations. I'd continue this diatribe but Mrs. Thewin has me under a strict schedule. 'Tis already past midday and I've yet to attend to some important business. Good day.

I loved kings bibby. Also, if he follows bibby career path, the next three seasons he's going to be an elite point guard. Bibby's best years were 7-9

You do realize sb nation writers are just normal people right? Heck, I'm a moderator-writer for a sb nation site. Their opinion carries the same weight yours or mine does. and posting the comments on any blog sports or otherwise is just inviting ignorance into your life. Not all comments are bad, but some of the dumbest things I've ever read were in the comment section of blogs.

yeah i keep thinking it's still 2010. It's difficult to shake a habit you've developed for a year. This is a pretty good place to start. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_v4CoBggncY 28-8-6 in that game http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X5S911OGNa4 21 points in second half vs spurs. http://www .youtube.com/watch?v=JgOBh7cOG5E&feature=related not allowed to post more He had 20/2/9 in game 1 against boston, bad games 2 and 3, 23/9/5 in game 4, 24/5/5 in game 5, and a bad game 6.

The concern isn't with nelson though. It's with Nelson/Arenas/Hedo/Jrich. It's not a Nelson issue. He's taking less shots and playing less minutes as a way to incorporate the new guys on the team. In November he helped carry us though when he averaged 14.5 and 7.5 in 30 mins per game on 48% shooting. In November he attempted 157 shots in 13 games. In January he attempted 135 shots in 16 games. The team is still trying to figure each other out.
