Just to point something out for comparison. It's only been 3 game days since the end of the all star break and Boston, Miami, Chicago, Atlanta, and Oklahoma City have all lost games. Atlanta has lost both games this week.

everybody has played good defense at one point this season. The effort on defense just isn't there.

every guy in this rotation has shown they can play. They can score and they can play defense. They just haven't done it consistently or at the same time.

Right, you don't take back players that don't fit into your plan. So you either let dwight walk for nothing, or make a trade. If you make a trade you try to combine some sort of returning players that fit into a rebuilding plan, dump contracts, acquire picks. If you trade dwight for players they better be young guys you can build around or other players you can dump for picks.

It depends on what happens in may/june. This is the team Otis built. It can still succeed. It has talent. If it doesn't then probably. They call it a gamble for a reason. Otis put his job on the line for these trades. We didn't make the deals to beat teams in february.

if we could land Brewer and a center who is alive, has full use of his limbs, some height, and weighs over 225 lbs then I'll feel a whole lot better. Brewer doesn't even need to be in our rotation, a lanky sg/sf on our bench who can defend is something we need for specific situations. Edit: thats why I wanted Thabeet. He's not good at all and you cant count on him but he can play for 12 minutes and make it difficult for people to drive into the lane.

I can't say anything about arenas because he's only approached meeting expectations in one or two games with us. If all he can be is a decent backup pg then whatever. We know J Rich can succeed here because he's had several good games with us. He's just not playing well right now. We know Hedo can succeed here because he's had several good games with us. He's just not playing consistently. We know Jameer can succeed here because he's always been good for us in the playoffs. He's just playing scared right now. We know Anderson can succeed here because he had a 14.8 pt 6.5 reb in 25 mpg January. He's just shooting poorly right now. We know Bass can succeed here check out his numbers against Boston, Miami, NY, Chi. He's just coming off an injury. We know JJ can succeed here because he had a great december and a good january. He's just shooting poorly in February. Things don't look good for us in the east. It's going to be tough. Not all hope is lost though. We have talent, it's not like we're counting on guys to do things they haven't done before. We just need it to all come together.

We have 24 games left and 15 of those games are games we should win. The other 9 games are OKC, New York, @MIA, CHI, @LA, @NY, @NY, @ATL, CHI. If we can go 4-5 in these games and 12-3 in the other games we should be in good shape.
