Barnes was nice, yes, but the drop off you argue between Barnes and Q isn't as much as from Nelson last year to Williams and AJ. Not to mention how much we've already discussed how important the 3rd string PG is considering Nelson's inability to stay healthy.

We are not in the business of developing this position. Again, we are not the Memphis Grizzles. We are trying to win the whole thing. THIS YEAR. And we need a 3rd PG that can get the job done if called upon.

Round and round we go. First, the guy you want is only slightly cheaper. Second, given the starting PG's injury issues, it is important to have a 3rd that isn't still learning how to dribble. When we point out Nelson's injury issues, you talk about how much Williams sucked, yet you advocate signing a guy who can't stay with a team and is obviously a bust. Then you talk about how much Williams costs, yet the cheaper options are COMPLETELY unproven for the role they might have to take on. Round and round we go.

Or you have a PG that is going to miss 15 games for various reasons and that 3rd becomes the 2nd. But why would a contender want stability for that time when the 3rd is the 2nd, rather than some unproven guy more suited to be a risk for the Sacramento Kings?

It's not that. It's just if Nelson goes down, which he more than likely will for 15 games. When that happens, the 3rd is now the 2nd. For a Nelson led Orlando Magic, the 3rd string is more important than you are arguing.

It's a risk/reward situation here. Do we sign some young kid who will likely never contribute and might end up being a problem either on or off the court? OR, do we sign someone who will never be an All-Star, yet we know exactly what we will get? This isn't a video game. There are a lot of factors to take into consideration.
