    No Arenas on Thursday

Should be a rout. Will be fun to see John Wall though.

Your face is ugly but I don't ask you to get a new one.

We may have a sneak peek at the black unis!

I actually just bought the limited edition black carbon fiber from the NBA store yesterday: http://store.nba.com/product/index.jsp?productId=4393042&cp=10817391.3337125.2871576.2482948.2806589 I actually kinda like this slightly (only slightly) more than the new alternate blacks. It has a bunch of magic basketball logos in black in the letters, numbers, and sides. FYI - They have $10 off this jersey through today only for those that are interested.

FYI - stopped by the magic store at the Amway Center this weekend, and I asked one of the employees if he knew anything about the black alternates jerseys. He said the Magic will definitely be using them this year, and the jerseys will go on sale to the public on December 10th :happypuppy:

    Paul wants out (with link)

Didn't see this posted yet, but on the sports report on the 10pm local news, the sportscaster said Chris Paul's mom was in town for a charity basketball thing with Dwight's mom and Rashard's mom. She said how Chris really loves the idea of playing next to Dwight, and she thinks it would be great fit for him here in Orlando. Way to go Dwight and Shard, bringing in the big guns!

    Paul wants out (with link)

If all this is true that NY is his first choice, he's obviously letting friendship get in the way of logic. Like others have said, he's definitely got the best chance of winning now and for years to come if he comes to Orlando. If a true contender is what he wants, I sure hope his advisors are curbing the friendship cloudiness that is deviating his better judgement.

    Paul wants out (with link)

I couldn't see the Hornets being that dumb to have Paul join up with Kobe and the Lakers, or any other West team. It's like us being forced to trade Dwight, would we really trade him to another East team?....never in a million years. If the reports really are true, we have an unbelievable shot at getting him if NO actually does oblige.

    Update from Magical

I personally think we shouldn't throw Joe Johnson out as a possibility. I'm not saying that's the guy I personally want, but I really don't think he's going to get max money. And I think Atlanta would definitely be interested in getting something (ala Vince + another) in return for Joe. Joe's offense is developed, his defense is not bad plus he's got length, and obviously he's an Otis kind of guy with a good attitude and character. I'd much rather go for Amare, but I think JJ is still a very real possibility.

The great Hakeem finally helping Dwight?

Watching sportscenter right now, they just said that hakeem is helping Dwight to help the magic make history by beating the celts in this series. It was said as a lead in to the story they'll talk about more in a little. The help is definitely late, but glad that he's finally getting it nonetheless =)

The great Hakeem finally helping Dwight?

So who knows what the heck Hakeem said in the interview, because it was so hard to understand him. From the little that I could make out of it, none of the answers seemed like they were of any substance. And apparently it was just a conversation with Dwight prior to game 4, versus actually working with him during practice. Of course, ESPN had to change the subject at the end of the interview and ask Hakeem if he were Lebron, where would he go. Ugh it makes me sick.

Howard leaves agent - UPD. PG2 Could skip W.Championship

Timing is awkward though. I think if it were simply a change to family thing, he would have waited until this summer to do it. So I'm thinking he and Aaron probably had some disagreement that one or both parties weren't willing to work through, and so they decided to call it quits...and Dwight may have already had the "family" card tucked under his sleeve.

Kenny Smith picks Magic over Cavs!

This raises a good question... do we want to be picked to win or would it better statistically to be chosen to loose? I don't know but i'm now a little scared of these guys picking us... this is a bad omen... News flash...no one picked us to win last year either, and by my recollection, that still wasn't the omen we needed to win the championship.

    Kings Waive Joey Dorsey

quote: The Kings waived forward Joey Dorsey on Monday. Sacramento acquired Dorsey on Feb. 18 in the three-team deal with Houston and New York that brought Carl Landry to the Kings. http://www.realgm.com/src_wire...s_waive_joey_dorsey/ I know this isn't exactly Magic related, but I posted this here because I know a lot of you were interested in Dorsey coming out of college. Do you think Otis should go after him...at least to give him a test run til the end of the year? I personally wouldn't see Stan playing him at this point, and he is probably too similar to Bass. What do you think?

LeBron James Interested In Playing With Johnson

Dwight was a top 5 center when he was 21 and the Magic also competed on a nightly basis I simply think the Nets are lacking a vocal leader that will rally the troops with a will to win and overcome challenges on a nightly basis, even if that means putting all on their own back to make it happen. I'm personally in the boat that if Lebron went to the Nets, the Nets would be really really good in about 3 years.

    TOTALLY DISGUSTED BY ESPN

quote: Originally posted by fishybashi:Did anyone on ESPN talk about how they didn't honor that totally legal alley hoop for the Magic? And what about the 2 non fouls called against Howard??? The refs sucked balls yesterday against us, and WE STILL FREAKING WON!!!! LOL Have you guys noticed the difference in officiating when we play the big teams (LA, Cle, Bos), as opposed to when we play everyone else? The difference is incredibly obvious. Every time we play one of the big teams, they seem to get so many bogus calls go their way, yet I don't count the same amount of bogus calls go our way. I really feel that the refs are told by the NBA office to either keep the game close with the calls or try to make a particular team win (usually not us). It seems like the last couple of big games we've made just enough shots down the stretch to barely get the win. People thought it ended with Tim Donaghy, yeah right. This is just a different kind of fixing that doesn't involve betting, it involves ratings. How come we never hear any news of what the refs go through. The league says they review every game, when do we ever hear of a ref being talked to about a bad call or several bad calls during the game? Do these refs ever get reprimanded or go through re-training? I bet the only time they get talked to is when the team the NBA office wanted to win didn't happen. //end ref frustration rant

Is Wade to Orlando A Serious Possibilty???

I actually think there may be a better chance of us getting CP3 than Wade. Now Collison is obviously no CP3, but he has been putting up very impressive numbers in his rookie season, it's got to have the Hornets brass at least considering what they can get for CP3.

OMG i have to vent. Our PFs are playing terrible, they don't seem to know how to stay between their man and the basket. Why don't they understand they need to keep their eye on their man, all cleveland's PFs do is cut. Pietrus and Barnes have made stupid fouls. Refs are calling a litle touch fouls on us only. Oh wait, Anderson finally made his first 3 in like 10 games.

The Magic are interested in trading for Steve Blake?

Would anyone be interested in Ridnour? He's been playing great for the Bucks this year. http://www.realgm.com/src_wire...r_warrick_alexander/
  24. quote: Originally posted by Noonskadoodle17:from real GM, TheRevTy said he got this info from an "insider": quote: As I said in my other thread, I've been MIA due to Safari not liking this website. But I've been lurking on my phone, and figured I'd give you guys an update on what I have heard from Magical. First, his general feeling is that unless something big happens (significant injury or a star becoming available) the Magic will stand pat. They are finally gelling and don't want to disrupt chemistry by making a move for the sake of a move. However, they are listening to offers. That is where the Salmons/JJ rumor came from - Chicago called Otis and offered him Salmons and Tyrus Thomas for JJ and Gortat. Otis didn't bite. That is just one of many offers, Magical isn't sure why that one made the media and others didn't. He also stated that EVERYONE around the RDV is dreaming of pairing Chris Paul and Dwight Howard. He said Otis will make a strong push for it, but it will likely require a third team due to Paul's BYC status. Another source that I have confirmed this, and even went so far as to state that Otis has offered Meer, Gortat, and JJ. Neither source is sure if CP3's injury hurts or helps this cause. In the case that Orleans isn't willing to deal Paul (likely), Jameer is your guy, with Otis making another run at CJ Watson for depth. Finally, as I stated earlier, Magical still believes the ultimate goal is to pair Dwight with a younger elite swingman this summer. He said that he isn't sure if the previous targets, Joe Johnson or Dwyane Wade (pipedream), are affected by their teams' success. I believe that is everything. I'll have to look back over the e-mails to see if I missed anything. It's not really a big deal or anything, but I actuall got a chance to talk to some of the players and Otis Smith yesterday at a Magic/sponsors event at a pointe orlando restaurant last night that I was very fortunate to go to...by way of my fiance who was the one who got invited (trust me I'm a nobody). Just wanted to repost the above that was in another thread to build my platform for my conversation with Otis. Mods you can move this back if you feel it's best, but I thought I'd post some of the things Otis and the players spoke to me about here so it didn't get lost in that thread. I actually met and spoke to Otis yesterday for about 5 minutes (he's a real cool guy BTW) Now in no way am I proclaiming he's being honest with me, because why would he tell a nobody like me of his exact plans, but his main message to me when considering a move was...will it make us any better? I asked him about the JJ to chicago rumors but we both agreed on the fact that JJ is playing great right now, and Otis said "what can I get for JJ that's going to bring me back something better?". I completely agree. If you had a team dumb enough to trade you say Joe Johnson for JJ, who wouldn't do that? But something like that would have a .00005% chance of happening. The other thing he told was that he still feels like he likes this team, and that just about every team goes through growing pains at some point. He said that he felt he was happy that it happened to us relatively early in the season. He said he'd much rather have that then have a team unravel towards the end of the season. Pretty much he said he plans on standing pat unless there's some deal that's a no brainer and he can't pass up. Other than that, he said he prefers to change his personnel in the offseason so they have all season to get acquainted with each other. He also told me that several months and even several weeks before the deadlines, teams just really talk and talk and don't do much, but he said the climate in the front offices really changes during the two weeks before the trade deadlines. He said that's where you find out which prior trade talks get really serious. Wish I would have had more time with him so I could have gotten to juicier conversation like his plans for the offseason. Also got a chance to talk to March and Bass for a little. With March we talked about his insane BMW, 2003 M5. Still claims it's best in the NBA. Some other interesting tidbits about our conversation was that I talked to him about his nicknames, and something we may not have known, but coming into the NBA, the nickname he wanted to have was The Polish Machine. But he said that got derrailed when someone thought up Polish Hammer and it stuck. He said he's not a big fan of it and would much rather people call him the Polish Machine. I said I'd promise to do what I could to change that for him =) Also I talked to him about the Warlock nickname. I asked him if he had any idea where that came from, and he said he's always wondered, so of course I told him the whole story. When he heard it came form a bad polish to english internet translation, he started cracking up. At least I was able to close the loop on that one for him. Bass was cool too, seemed very humble. Him and JJ were hanging together a lot, but I didn't get a chance to talk to JJ. I told him I liked his game and I liked his energy. Bass said he's just trying to get on the floor during games. I told him I understand it's a tough situation to be in, because sometimes coach wants you to do something completely different that how you as a player feel you can be effective. So I talked about how SVG probably wanted him to rebound and play D more, and then I said if he can do that to get on the floor, then he'd have his chance to play his mid range game on offense, which has always been a big hole on our team. I told him to keep his head up and to always remember JJ's journey. Like I said he was a very cool guy too. The coolest of all players was MP hands down. My fiance and her boss were playing roulette (they had a mini casino thing going on at one of the rooms) and he and Adonal Foyle were playing at the table. MP played with them for like 30 minutes. The dealer let him spin the wheel and he spun it so hard the first time that the ball when flying off the wheel and it took us all 5 minutes to find it! That was hilarious. Adonal said he still live just outside of Oakland in the offseasons, and that his summers kick his a** because he still goes to school during the summers, some university in california, to be a sports pyschologist. He said it will take him 9 years. Those were the players I talked to the most. Most players were busy playing one of the many casino games. Talked to Dwight for a minute, but not very long because he was playing blackjack. Got a pic with him thought so that was cool. Also on his way back to the table at one point he tapped me and this other guy we were with on the shoulder as he walked by. You know how some of your friend might do that to you to make you think they're on one side of you but are really on your other side?...he totally got us both, lol. Talked to Nick and Bo some, but I have already spoke to them a lot on many occassions because of work stuff. Very briefly talked to Rashard, Matt Barnes, and Jameer, they all seemed in a hurry to leave. I told Matt we were happy to finally have a slasher on this team. So the only players I didn't get a chance to at least say what up to was JJ and Ryan. Ryan seemed to only be there for 10 minutes and then he disappeared. Vince was hardcore into a game of poker, so I only said hello real quick. Oh yeah a lady who was with us is a huge gators fan so she had to talk to J Will. She said he was really nice and he said he's really hoping he can play in the new arena next year. SVG wasn't there, and neither was AJ. Well, that was my magical night. Not a lot of things of substance towards trade rumors and specifics about team chemistry, etc...but it was definitely an interesting night nonetheless, and was an honor meeting and talking to the guys. Once again, coolest guys that night were Otis, MP, and the man from this day forward to be known as...The POLISH MACHINE!

So I didn't want people to think....who the heck does this guy think he is. But apparently some people do care...lol
