    Hi everybody,

It's my first post, even though have been following this forum for some time, so would like to start by congratulating you all and hoping to bring something positive to it.

I'm not going to write about the contracts just signed, there has been already a lot of posts about it but one thing that I can't avoid worrying about is our options for guards at the moment... First of all, there is some quality but for what we are aiming for this coming season, I do believe we are very weak in our back-court position, especially at PG...

It's amazing to have TRoss back but what about the rest? Yes, DJ performed well last season, MCW contaminated the team (and us fans) with his on-court hustle and Fournier had some good calls on the clock... But are we really resting our back-court hopes mostly on them for the entire season, and hopefully playoffs? What if anyone, gets injured? I can't wait to see Fultz fully recovered and back in the court but, let's be honest, there is absolutely no guarantees that this will happen.

Please correct me if I am wrong, but I believe there is currently space for 2 more players in our roster. One, I presume will be for Khem Birch. As for the second one, I would definitely try to bring in some guard that can become an asset straight away and also fit within our long-term plans. Someone like Frank Jackson!

I don't know exactly how a deal for him would be done (though his salary is not high, not sure we have too much margin) but I would say he is very worth the try. Not only due to the skill-set he shows but also because he looks to be behind Jrue-Lonzo-NAW in the Pelicans court priority. What you guys think?

    Welcome.

Yes, we have 2 spots left and the FO hope Birch takes one, but their still negotiating. I'd say its 50/50, and by reading between the lines, we should have an answer on Birch very soon.

As for Frank, he's ok, but wouldn't play at all. With DJ, Fultz, MCW...no room for a 4th PG. Especially as we figure out what we have in Fultz. Maybe next year when we have a better POV of our PG situation.

Our last spot should go to a combo guard that has some experience and some untapped potential. My wish is for us to get Ntilikina.

Are there no other options...other than..Derozan?  Please.....basketball gods..spare us from any trade regarding this player.

I mean, he's probably the most attainable SG of his stature without us, hopefully, sending out anything of real value. And his contract is short, so if it doesnt work, it's not crippling for our future.

Ideally, give me Beal, but I don't know if we would pay Beal money and still field a competitive team.

  3. Re: Fultz

I dont remember where I read it, but basically, he's in the last stage of his rehab. That does NOT mean, he's ready to play. That just means once rehab is done, he can begin basketball activities. Start with 2 vs 2, then 3 vs 3, then eventually 5 vs 5. I think he should be cleared by September, when the players migrate back to orlando for pickups and conditioning.

For that last spot we either need to go for an upside play (Jeffries, briscoe, random summer league guy, young first rounder that's close to being out of the league but might be worth a second or third look) or a veteran who can fill a role for a week reliably like Jamal Crawford, Meeks, sefolosha, Raymond Felton, luol Deng.

Couldn't Abrines frill both roles: kinda Vet with a little upside? I like his ability to spread the floor.  Certainly him over Meeks or Felton. Deng....washed.

  5. Prediction: 40-45 wins.

Roster: Mozgov is really a waste. Waste of money and roster spot. Ideally, we trade Timmy & Fournier for better(?) shooting guard. I'd love to get Birch back and a shooter.

Stauskas anyone? I wonder how Jeffries will look in summer league. I also hate Frazier is hurt cause I want to see what we have in him.

  6. FO have a lot of faith in Markelle. If he shows any signs of potential....we're good.

Starting the LeVert bandwagon for next summer. If Evan opts out (and we renounce), we'll have Fournier, Mozgov, DJ expiring. With a projected $118M cap in 2020, that'll have us with ~$27M. Can make a big offer for LeVert. Would Nets match?

Maybe Fultz doesnt workout and we plateau, Vuc for DLo next summer, reuniting DLo & LeVert, and adding them to our forward studs.

Really happy with the Ross and Amino signing.

Not sure what to say about Vooch contract but will wait until all details are available. I am just hoping that there is at least one year team option in there.

Indiana has had a really good free agency so far. Scoring TJ Warren, Jeremy Lamb and  Brogdon to pair with Oladipo. A lot of good offensive players that can score.. Meanwhile, we have only Fournier as our only and lonely decent SG in our team. How is that possible?

There has to be something else cooking.

    Ross is also a SG.
