Think I read Ross is waiting to see what Vuc does. If we lose Vuc, i wonder if Ross has any interest to come back? We'll see.

The ESPN writer that covers the Lakers already threw his name out last night as potential player to target. The notion was instead of 1 max player player, break up the money to 2-3 really good role players. If we don't keep Vuc, and Ross isn't feeling our moves, LA isn't bad for him.

I've see 1 instance of us linked to DLo; I wouldn't say that's "a lot of smoke". Now, if you've heard things from people in the org, that's great to hear; but, if not, I can't buy into fan hype. Once I read we've salary dumped a large deal, I'll strap in.

Hypothetically, we trade #46 for Ntilikina, then make moves so we get DLo as an UFA. Could a starting backcourt of Russell/Ntilikina work and develop into something good? We'd still have Fultz and high-potential guard rotation.

I agree. Not worth max, but at 23 yrs old, could he not continue to improve more? What was CJ at 23? Imagine DLo 4 years older from now with Cliff and our development staff. I'm not advocating to get him at max, but I would understand why they'd do it. His court vision and passing is top 10. Doncic, Rubio, Young, Paul, Ball, Rondo, B.Simmons, Wall....? He is in that group.

Honestly, who knows. On the floor, absolutely. Kyrie's ability to penetrate and draw fouls is what separates him from DLo. All-NBA for a reason. As for locker room stuff, Nets, or any team that signs him, can only hope that since he CHOSE to be there, there won't be any issues. But that's the gamble. Anyone expecting DLo to be a superstar is crazy. He's a really good combo guard, with elite passing, and at 23, still improving with experience. I'd put him on the same tier as CJ McCollum; but less consistent scoring and better playmaking. Someone like this doesn't always become available, and if he's renounced, I hope we're aggressive to snag him. We got lucky with getting Markelle for cheap. Could we get lucky again with aquiring his backcourt mate via FA?

C'mon, kyrie is an upgrade, that's why. And Kyrie may be the means to another superstar FA. Kyrie is a big name and brings star power to the nets. Ascends them to the spotlight. I'm not a fan of him but I'd be ecstatic if Kyrie wanted to come here. Hopefully, with their upgrade, we can catch what falls through the cracks.

I think I trust our FO and if they go/don't go after a player, I believe their immeasurable amounts of data and research to support their decision. Not about today but down the road.

I wouldn't hate it either. I would hate paying him max. If Nets renounce him, we just have to offer something attractive. We have the role for him. Just no money. Ideally, money dries up, and he comes for our full MLE. Like Julius Randle last summer.

I want to be excited but no real shot until we see what happens with our FAs first. Once we hear we're trading Fournier or stretching Mozgov, that's when we have serious shot. I fully expect him to be a UFA and I hope we prepare ourselves.

Russell/Thybulle/Isaac/Gordon/Bamba Fultz as 6th man.

I'd be interested to see if Nets renounce DLo to get their FAs. They would have to if they wanted Kyrie AND another max guy. If he's unrestricted, I think we'd have a shot. In 2 years: Russell/Fultz/Isaac/Gordon/Bamba

@YahooSportsNBA: Ricky Rubio says the Utah Jazz let him know that he is no longer a priority for them, per @ernestmacia. I wouldn't mind Rubio here. His IQ and court awareness would be great for a developing Bamba, JI, & AG.

Same guy said we were part of a 3team trade to get Lonzo last year; with Vuc going to NO.

I'd be happy with that Fournier trade. A lot. I like Bjelinca more than Martin and hoped we'd get him when he was a FA.

Who cares. I let his age be a factor early on, but that's a mistake. 23 is same age as AG and him being a senior, means he's more experienced and ready to contribute right away. And don't forget WeltHam like older, senior players, but mostly in the 2nd round. Maybe they tweak their trend and take a senior in round 1? He's a 6'8 knockdown shooter, with good IQ, and decent athleticism. Can play SG/SF and has a 6'10 wingspan. I think he's a safe bet to be a top 7/8 player in a rotation. I liked him since February but I let mocks and his age dissuade me seriously liking him. Everyone else, NAW, Langford, Porter, etc. are just meh to me. CJ is the only wing prospect I can get remotely excited about; super role player, that knows his role and can SPACE the floor. He's the shooter our core needs.
