  1. quote: SHANGHAI, China -- LeBron James and the Cleveland Cavaliers are headed to China. The Cavaliers will play preseason games against the Orlando Magic on Oct. 17 and Oct. 20, the NBA announced at a news conference on Thursday. The first game will be played in Shanghai and the second will be in the former Portuguese territory of Macau. Sandwiched between those games, the Magic will face the Chinese national team on Oct. 18, also in Macau. The preseason games will be the second for the NBA in China. In 2004, the Houston Rockets -- led by Chinese center Yao Ming -- and the Sacramento Kings played in Beijing and Shanghai. The meeting between the Magic and the China national team will mark the second time an NBA team has faced China's top team on national soil. In 1979, the Washington Bullets - now the Wizards - played two games against the China national team. For James and Magic star Dwight Howard, it will be the second trip in two years to China, where the NBA has worked to strengthen its presence before the 2008 Olympics. The United States played tuneup games there last year on its way to Japan for the world championships. Great, now we get to humiliate ourselves in front of the world.

Who will decide if BHILL stays or goes?

quote: Originally posted by futuremg:The other day I had a chance to share a bottle of Texas Kool Aid with the drunks outside the RDV and some interesting points were brought up in between the gulps and burps! In defense of himself, Bhill told Vince that MJ can be a real asso can't he! He also told him that he did really want him on the team but Jameer really was the one to veto him off and it really wasn't him....honest! Jameer feels he would not get his 20 shots a game with him on the team. Jameer has also threatened to tell Dwights father that Bhill has not taught his son the fundamentals of basketball yet, contrary to what he has heard, you know fundamentals like scoring in a different way besides a dunk. Jameer said he would stay mute as long as he kept starting and playing and did not have to pass the ball to JJ. Ernie the tall drunk said he did see Jameer and Hedo butt heads once it was when Jameer made hedo bow to him for winning the Knicks game at the buzzer. Hedo did not bow low enough and they slammed heads. Oh yea he said he also butted heads with Trevor thats why he had a migrane the other night. He butted as they were coming out after half time. Burt, the short drunk said there was talk about trading the Magic Kingdom and Brian Hill for Coach K or G ( either one) and the Duke Chapel and if that falls though they were going for Chapel Hill and Coach Williams. Bhill was happy that JJ had a high BB IQ and he wondered if JJ could help him spell IQ for his next press conference. And the last drunk named cookie said that she new the FutureGM and was wondering when she was going to get her tooth brush back she needed to brush her tooth really bad. HAHAHA CLASSIC. Whoever is the poster behind all these characters, you're pretty creative.

    Playoff Race 6-10 seeds

to update Skywise: Indy vs. Orlando and they might be playing without JO = loss for us, lol. NY vs. Dallas. In their last game, Dirk and Josh Howard both tweeked their ankles. I'm not sure how healthy or serious Dallas will take this game. Of course they don't want their gems to get hurt playing some meaningless game. So, keep an eye out if Dallas plays without their Aces. This is a winnable game for NY. Detroit vs. NJ. Seems Turk has been hanging out in Detroit because Rip and Webber have missed the last two games with the flu. I'm not sure if they will play tonight. And, NJ just lost Eddie House for the year/playoffs due to a minor consussion and torn hip muscle suffered playing vs. Indy on Wednesday night. I swear, if any of Indy's players hurt our players, i'm going to blow up their team bus on the way to the airport.

    Losers

I agree with the opening comments of the thread... 1) we are losers if we are below .500 2) Knicks are losers too 3) Knicks are a better team than we are. They beat us 2 out of 3 times, and we stuggled to beat them with 3 of their top players out and 2 others feeling "flu-like" symptoms. They have offense AND defense.
  6. yeah, I agree. You and emory did a nyce tag-team job on that one.
  7. quote: Originally posted by djmase20: quote: emory, your original post was completely out of line and inconsiderate. I'm ashamed to have Magic fans like yourself. Who will decide if BHILL stays or goes?

First off, welcome back....bandwagoner ;-) Now, on to your comments: quote: All this talk about the coach should be fired is non-sense. Or that Otis is the one who will decide. It all comes down to what D-Howard thinks and wants. He is the one who holds B-Hill
  9. emory, your original post was completely out of line and inconsiderate. I'm ashamed to have Magic fans like yourself. Please, grow up.
  10. Here's Indiana's version of a game thread. IMO, pretty d*mn nyce =) http://www.realgm.com/boards/viewtopic.php?t=642342 You will not be disappointed!
  11. John Gabriel, you scare me. You know a little too much Magic history in greater detail than anyone here. Are you really the ghost? hmmmmmmmmm..........

No obligation to buy. . . I will glad take this one. quote: Billups, Deshawn and Atkins Good try emory, but I think you're wrong. Because of that, you still have to attend the presentation AND AGREE with Devos' support for "That Coach". My guess is Chauncey, Deshawn, and Zaza. *At the presentation, I will have a demonstration protesting why "That Coach" is the wrong man for our future.
  13. quote: Originally posted by SmackDaddy:After Deshawn Stevenson scored 28 points last night for Washington, is he on this list for making only $800,000? Yep, he's number 11, lol. Here's the whole list since I forgot to provide the link. quote: 1. Chauncey Billups, Pistons ($6.4 million)This was, quite simply, the greatest midlevel exception signing of all time. Billups has made two All-Star teams and won a Finals MVP while becoming the key crunch-time shot-maker on one of the league's most successful teams. Not bad for a vagabond who had been a backup in Minnesota the year before he came to Detroit. But the gravy train is about to end for the Pistons -- Billups will be this summer's most coveted free agent. 2. Alonzo Mourning, Heat ($2.5 million) Gotta love those hometown discounts. Mourning knowingly signed for well below his market value this past summer so he could stay with the Heat, providing Miami with one of the league's best defensive players as well as its best backup center. In a market where even mediocre centers earn four times as much, he's provided the Heat with a tremendous advantage in their title defense. 3. Jose Calderon, Raptors ($2.3 million) Man, where did that come from? On a per-minute basis, Calderon has been one of the best point guards in all of basketball this season, averaging 16.9 points and 9.4 assists per 40 minutes while shooting 53.4 percent from the floor. He's a big reason behind the Raps' surprising run to the Atlantic Division crown and, unlike a lot of players on this list, he's still under contract for another season. 4. Chris Webber, Pistons ($407K) After appearing on Wednesday's bad contracts list, it's time for C-Webb to take a spin on the good side. Going to Detroit for the veteran's minimum propelled the Pistons' second-half surge that has them sitting atop the Eastern Conference and, perhaps, poised for their third trip to the Finals in four years. Helping matters greatly is C-Webb's uncharacteristically accurate shooting -- he's at 52.1 percent after hitting 39.1 percent, 43.4 percent and 38.7 percent in parts of three seasons as a Sixer. Like Billups, he's due for a big raise this summer. 5. Mo Williams, Bucks ($1.9 million) An enlightened free-agent pickup three years ago when the Bucks plucked him off Utah's roster, Williams has emerged as one of the league's top young point guards with averages of 17.5 points, 6.3 assists and 4.9 rebounds. His continued improvement has been a bright spot in an otherwise lackluster Milwaukee campaign, but as with Billups it's time to pay the piper -- he's a free agent after the season and, at worst, will triple his income. 6. Manu Ginobili, Spurs ($8.2 million) When Ginobili signed his six-year, $52 million deal two years ago, some wondered whether the Spurs overpaid. Not anymore, as the Argentine star is currently having his best season. He's averaging a career-high in points while playing just 27.6 minutes per game, shooting 41.9 percent on 3-pointers, and ranks ninth in the entire league in Player Efficiency Rating -- ahead of Gilbert Arenas, Steve Nash and Tracy McGrady, among others. He's likely to win the Sixth Man award, and best of all he's under contract for three more years. 7. Steve Nash, Suns ($10.5 million) Here's all you need to know -- the league's two-time MVP doesn't make the max. Far from it. In retrospect, I don't know what's more amazing -- that Phoenix was able to nab him at this price, or that Dallas thought the offer too rich to match. Either way, his bargain deal is the reason Phoenix has been able to pay its other stars and skirt the luxury tax ... at least for now. Nash is having his best season yet (47.3 percent on 3-pointers? With almost all of them coming off the dribble? Are you kidding me?) and is under contract for three more years, though the last one is an option year for the Suns. Hmmm

    Brian Hill Show cancelled

quote: Originally posted by SmackDaddy:What's all this talk about Jameer ignoring a play call? Did I miss something? Apparently, "That Coach" designed a set play at the end of overtime to possibly win us the game. However, your boy, scratched the play and took it upon himself to try and win the game with his "O-Lord, please let this go in so I can use this during contract talks" shot. As far as why the show was cancelled, IMO, he was still recovering from the beating Diener and Augustine gave him for not playing them. After each loss, if those guys didn't play, they whoop his A$$ because they are the next legends of the NBA and can help this team win. "That Coach" got it pretty bad last night cause it was a loss to the Cs.

    OrlandoMagic.com Beat Writer???

This may be dumb, but what exactly is a "beat writer"? I don't know what it is, but I'm all for having one if it means more information for us fans who live and die by the message boards.
  16. LOL @ Hutch If I knew in advance that we would for sure have Vince and a new coach, I would seriously plan a trip to China. Not only to watch the Magic but because that country is on my travel "to-do" list.
  17. Some good news... Our boy Trevor Ariza comes in at #23 quote: 23. Trevor Ariza, Magic ($3.1 million)Orlando's second-unit energizer slipped through the cracks in free agency, allowing the Magic to retain him cheaply. Though he missed several weeks with a knee injury, he's been a godsend when healthy. Ariza is shooting 53.3 percent, rebounding like a power forward and providing wing defense that Orlando's other 2s and 3s simply can't. At only 21 years old, he figures to get a whole lot better, too. Glad we got him cheap, but when he's up for an extention, he's gonna want/need/deserve more money.

  19. quote: Originally posted by The Dude Abides:If this team were to play a Suns style offense, you would still hafta worry about their Low B-Ball IQ's - the Suns system is filled with people who understand what it is they are trying to accomplish as a Team, and they play together and to each others strengths - what you have in Meer and his clone Arroyo are NOT team players, and they have the B-Ball IQ of stumps, how can you expect them to thrive in a more intense system when they cant even handle the dull dump it low system that we try to get them to play (without success or commiting to it at that)? The Magic dont need these type of B-Ball mavericks out on the court. Nycely said, Dude.
  20. IMO, here's my list of Magic players WITH BB IQ: JJ Redick Travis Diener Grant Hill Trevor Ariza Pat Garrity James Augustine Darko Milicic
  21. quote: Originally posted by Drain-O: quote: Originally posted by Adam_Magic:What drives me absolutely crazy is EVERY summer since Shaq left we have talked about how "this is the off-season that will make the difference", sorry but I am sick to death of waiting for the future, we need someone NOW. Get me VCs address and I will personally go to New Jersey pick him up and bring him to Orlando. Why go to NJ when you can just show up here after the regular season. Ill drive the van if anyone wants to come..... I'll bring the snacks! Any preference?
  22. During the game last night, I was YELLING for Grant to call a time out during the inbounds play. After watching that cost Denver a game, I didn't want it to happen to us. JJ should have been out there during crunch time; the kid has ice water in his veins. He also played well the first half, but got "butt cancer" the entire second half. BS. If I was coach, I would BENCH Jameer's A.ss. He disregarded the coach and his "game-winning" play and took his own shot; which, would eventually cause us to lose. That's BS. Denton, was right, drawing up plays is one of the FEW things "That Coach" can do right, and our starting point gaurd chooses to ignore it. KCUF that, man. He better be riding pine the next game.

Post GAME Reaction THREAD***Magic vs Celtics

you know what's funny to me? FENDI locks a thread that states why Battie shouldn't be starting after this loss; but still leaves up the thread that states why Tony should be our starter after the win in NY. Our mods are just like our team...INCONSISTENT.
  24. Nyce_1

    Why we lost this game!

our starters played the 4th quarter and 2 overtimes with no subs. No matter who you are, that's tiring and we didn't have the legs for that. Sure would've been nyce to see Ariza out there during 1 of the OTs
  25. This is why we need Vince.
