Everyone will blast Weltman for not making sweeping changes but this clearly shows why he, and the rest of the FO, think we can take a step with the same core, as long as we stay healthy. Only 7 games with our top 7 players out of 82 and we go 7-0; that's encouraging. Obviously, we're not going 82-0 but we don't have a true picture of how good or bad we are. As fans, we think we do, because we've seen these players for years and ready to move on from most, but sometimes all it takes a minor tweak here or there, new voice to coach, and some internal growth and things can really change. hopefully, we get a full year of minimal injuries and ball out.

A lot of teams will have money. NBA projected cap to be $108M next summer. It's why a lot of teams offered 1 year deals this summer, and why most restricted FA will sign their QO to hit the market next year, when there will be more spenders. We just have to hope we're smarter with our spending.

Vuc is a good offensive player. He can show Mo some post moves and what to expect when defending post players. He can help him learn to quickly read defenses and the right play to make out of double teams. Yes, we have coaches for all of that, but sometimes it's easier to understand when coming from another player. If kept, Vuc is a good vet (as long as he doesn't pout) to lean on.

Really good job here. Besides complaining he wasn't free, can't say anything bad about this deal. A+ for our FO. First Simmons, now AG; I'm trusting them with FA negotiations.

You know what, I'm not against it, but I've cooled on it. If the ball will be in JI and AG's hands more, I'd prefer a PG that can do more off-ball. Someone that can contribute to winning without being ball dominant and still help our guys' development.

yeah, he also says it would be tough to sign a player with different motives than developing the young guys. To no fault of his own, IT looking to prove himself and cash in next summer. I still hope they're waiting on Ball/Laker situation. Ball would be a great piece to grow with our core.
