My guess is that Fournier will opt-out and is treating this season as a contract year.

Does Bamba even like basketball anymore.

I'd be okay with moving Fultz *if* we receive reliable shot-creation in return.
-
DJ's decline signs are everywhere and he's basically unplayable if his shot isn't there.
-
Isaac's handle needs to improve quite a bit before his offense can go places. I think a Siakam like progression is possible however.
-
I'd be okay with that trade but we'd easily fall to being the worst rebounding team in the league.

If the choice of Okeke was driven by being hard-capped then that's fine, but this seemingly slavish devotion to stockpiling long defenders with developmental or limited offense is starting to seem a little self-defeating.
When does it stop being an overreaction when a known problem from the previous year looks to be continuing? 15 games? 20? And has everyone forgotten that much of the Magic's success in the second half of last year was driven by a very soft schedule?
Okeke isn't a creator but he's a polished offensive player who can shoot from outside and score in the interior.

Bamba over SGA or even Wendell Carter was such a misfire by the FO

At DJ's age + height it wouldn't be surprising if he just fell off completely this year.
-
What the hell happened to Gordon the last 3 pre-season games? Just fell off completely. I agree that MCW and Fultz shouldn't be on the court together since the floor gets really tiny. Iwundu at the 3 is a much better fit since he'll at least let it fly from deep. Fultz right now is more or less a taller Briscoe with better passing which is fine for the short-term but he's got a long way to go.
Kind of worried about Bamba achieving anything past being a solid bench big. Great jumper so he'll always be valuable but his motor on defense and rebounding is unacceptable.
-
MCW's feel on offense is so bad so of course you'd cut him despite his good defense. Fultz is dangerous in space since he's good at getting into the paint and making plays so this minimizes his low gravity from the lack of shooting. That said, he does need to get his mid-range pull-up game going.

Oh yeah, totally forgot about the "What if Bamba is good" potential this season.

6 hours ago, ?4thewin said:Why? He's a young, efficient, two-way player who can defend 3 positions and space the floor. If given a starting role it seems like he's at least a 15ppg guy. We have a 27 game playoff sample (excluding his rookie year) where he's a 17/5 guy on 48/38/69 shooting. And we have a few second round and ecf games where he's shown some ability to carry an offense.
So even if he hits his low end projection and is just shooting guard version of Harrison Barnes, that still seems pretty valuable given a positional group that doesn't have very many two way guys with upside.
Though if you're basing most of your opinion on how he defended Middleton I get it. He hasn't been able to figure him out.
His feel for the game is poor (makes bad decisions a lot) and he can barely dribble. His efficiency isn't that great (middling 3PT% on low attempts, below average foul shooter). I'd rather just hope Fournier gets his %s back up in the short term than hitch our wagon to an expensive role player.
-
He's still young but I've hated most everything I've seen of Jaylen Brown and don't want him here.
-
Fournier hitting closer to his career average %s is a more underrated aspect of a potential win improvement. He had the 2nd highest USG% out of the starters while sporting the worst TS% he's had since he played for the Nuggets.
-
The Team USA squad might not make it out of the 2nd round of the NBA playoffs. Serbia definitely has a good shot at taking them down.
-
That ringer guy is right on the risk that the contract situation has given the RFA signings on the horizon but the rest is a pretty disingenuous hot take. There's plenty of scenarios where we're a 48 win team with enough asset flexibility to make a major trade.
-
Shocked Birch didn't get an offer anywhere else. Guys clearly worse than him (Javale McGee) getting more money is comical.

Nickeil Alexander-Walker looked great last night. Really hope Chuma's good.

I'm just going to be blunt and say anyone advocating a Westbrook trade at this point just doesn't know anything about basketball.
I get that people are unhappy with Vucevic--I guarantee you'll be even more unhappy when Westbrook is on our team and needs to be paid 46 million dollars at age 35.

OKC should give *us* an asset to take Westbrook's contract. What is this horse**** I see where people are saying we give up Okeke or Bamba to get a guy who tanks your entire offense with garbage threes.
-
Any supermaxed player hurts your team but Westbrook on a supermax would absolutely slaughter us for the next 3 years.

Aminu does a lot of small things that help you win and I like him more than Evan but umm, we need ball-handling.

Aminu's a good player but where's he gonna find minutes.
Maybe Gordon's getting traded.

Watching his rookie debut highlights against the Heat he looks like a totally different player. I have no clue how his game is worse today than in his first game.
