Payton is shooting an unsustainable 54% from the field in March. Even with this tear, his overall TS% for the year is still at a below average 52%. He was closer to 50% for most of the season, that's not what anyone wants from their point guard in today's game.

Payton padding his stats in March long after teams have stopped taking the Magic seriously doesn't mean much. He gets lots of assists and boards and not many turnovers which boosts his advanced stats but his overall scoring inefficiency and inability to shoot hurt the team a lot.

DSJ had a rocky season at NC State but his skillset is so built for modern NBA PG play that I feel he's being underrated. I'd definitely take him above Tatum and would consider him over Ball or Jackson.

Paul George is an All-NBA level player. He's totally worth a decent starter (Crowder) and bench guys (Smart, Brown). Ainge is an idiot.

I'm actually hoping we don't do anything else. Lakers and Kings are gonna be tanking ultra hard to finish out the year, we gotta stay in the mix.

Trade for him and let him rest that knee for the remainder of the season

NBA twitter talking heads are complete idiots sometimes. Why are Oladipo and Sabonis almost always made out as some huge gets? Sabonis has been trash but gets minutes because OKC has no depth. Ross and Oladipo have almost identical per 36 stats with Ross having slightly better advanced metrics AND he's on a much cheaper deal.

Ibaka's max is 177 million. I think we did about as good as we could given the circumstances.

Getting a 1st (in a strong draft too) for an expiring is always good.

We're now 7th in the tankathon--Sixers have jumped us in the standings. February schedule is brutal--it would be better long term to just bottom out and get a Top 4 pick. Have no shot of catching Brooklyn but we can probably be in that Miami, LA range.

Haven't caught the last 10 games and have been just box score watching but is Payton good now--TS% is almost at 52, WS/48 almost at .100, is positive in both OBPM and DBPM. He was bad tonight but seems to be doing okay prior to that.

Well right now we're 8th and lined up to get someone like Isaac or Ntilikina which is pretty solid. We've still got a pretty tough schedule really all the way to April so we could definitely threaten for a bottom 5 finish.

Dunno if we'll be bad enough to have a shot at Fultz, Ball or Jackson but Smith looks very achievable. Monk is the one guy I absolutely don't want. He's making a mint on nailing really tough shots off the dribble right now--that's probably not gonna happen once he gets to the next level.

Oladipo hasn't been good this year and he's playing next to an MVP level player. Sentimental value still persists but paying him a max deal would've been bad.

Gotta figure Portland would at least think about it if we give them all of our assets + unprotected 1st and the Lakers pick I'm more speculating that Portland has a ton of long-term money lined up on a pretty bad team and that they may have to make drastic moves to get out of that pit.

Curious if it would be worth throwing everything we've got at Portland to get Lillard and do a Deron Williams to the Nets style trade.

I just remember that Boston got Isaiah Thomas for literally Marcus Thornton and Cleveland's (late) first round pick. Ugh. It's more about what P4W was saying--stop sending away young talent without getting something significant back. Fournier is doing too much now but put him on an actually balanced roster and not the clownshow we have going on and he'd flourish.

Yeah you don't move Fournier unless someone like McCollum or Butler is coming back.
