cant we trade vince for carmelo at the deadline? carmelo aint gonna resign with the nuggets and they could use the capspce.

Why not just trade gortat and lewis to the mavs for josh howard and dampier. they wanted gortat. and they could have a sf in lewis to go nicely with marion.

2 THINGS: First, how bout we trade lewis and gortat to the mavs for josh howard( expiresat the end of season, team option), and erick dampier( contract says if he doesnt play at least 25.6 min. per game the team can release him). this will gives us cap space at the end of the season to be potential players in 2010 free agency market. Also has anybody looked at recent mock drafts, they have us picking charles garcia out of seattle and the guy looks impressive, reminds me of odom.

First oF all, Happy New years everyone. Sorry to bring up my dads thread from a 2 years ago, but i think its quite necessary. Im really worried about our team, i know our record is 22-8 and thats solid but, remember houston last year, they won 22 straight games and it meant nothing in the playoffs. There are many factors that worry me: 1. Defence- were not playing great team defense, a lot of teams are scoring on us at will. our guards are getting abused, and we cant stop penetration. 2. Jameer- this is one of our biggest issues. We need a pg that can play at least 75 games, and jameer has shown hes injury prone, hes supposed to be entering his prime and give us his best, and hes just hurting us. Otis has made jameer his boy, and wont bring anybody on board that can challenge him for minutes, thats why were stuck with old pg's. Otis should star thinking about trading jameer, and dwight needs to understand this is a business. 3. We need a good offencive coach, sometimes our offence looks pathetic, i like van gundy, but 4 shooters around dwight doesnt always work, we need to slash to the basket more and get to the line. thats the area were i thought vc would help us but the guy just doesnt have legs anymore. we need to be more agressive to the basket and stop settling for 3's all the time. take pietrus and lewis for example, pietrus can slash but he doesnt, he just takes bad 3's, and lewis, the guy is friggin 6'10 and when he does drive to the basket(rarely) he doesnt even dunk it, he goes for those stupid layups and misses them a lot. 4. Dwight- I love this guy, but, he'll never be a complete player like ewing, dream, admiral because of his poor offensive game. and dont get me wrong dwight is great , but just like the thread a couple days ago, our organization messed dwight up , trying to make him the next shaq. dwight is great , but imagine what he couldve been, scary. We use our 4 shooters dwight in the middle style so we can free up dwight down low and hes just not producing, only against mediocre teams, this will hurt us in the playoofs against perkins, wallace, shaq, bynum,gasol, and what makes it worse is that on those nights that dwight isnt producing, our shooters dont know how to do anything else than to shoot 3's. I think in the future or next season we should star thinking about using a traditional line up with a true pf that can dominate the boards, this will benefit dwight because he wont get so much beating and doesnt have to worry that he's the only one out there to rebound. Miami di d it a couple of years ago with shaq and haslem and it worked, got them a ring. 5. chemistry- i really dont think our team chemistry is good right now. thats something we lost big, compared to last year. once again it is demostrated that to get to a ring defence and chemistry is necessary (spurs) and we are one step behind compared to last year. I hope i dont hurt the jameer lovers but we have to face reality, hes hurting our team. I hope the changes we made this off season star giving production and start mixing well with our team, because we dont look good right now if we were to start the playoffs now. Go MAagc!!!

Well, take it for what its worth but, bill ingrams chat at hoopsworld, some guy asked bill if the blazers can get a quality 5 after odens injury, and he replied "yes, they just have to talk to the magic and get in line". Maybe tragicfan was on to something

u have a good point there echo. maybe have bass start and anderson our sixth man but i really prefer pietrus off the bench, he plays better

J.J has been impressive so far.He's been scoring, giving great passes and rebounding, not so say defending decently but I dont agree with him starting. I really think that once lewis comes back our starting five will be jameer, carter, lewis, anderson, and howard. that way when our second unit comes in we have scoring in pietrus, jj, and bass.

Why not trade gortat for j. green or for ibaka and a lottery pick

There's a way to beat phily, i know they are not to use to play zone defense, but a team without great 3 point shooters, you play a 3-2 zone defense and you control the paint. If you watch international play, like when P.R. beat U.S.A, on that U.S.A team they lacked good 3 point shooters, plus they werent making the shots. Thats why P.R. with that zone defense controled the paint and was able to beat them. the magic are now in the same situation, but i know we can beat phily if we play that type of defense. any opinions?

I agree. i really hope Dwight takes all of this and turns it into energy and dominance and crushes phili in the 1st round. Anyway i just posted my message to dwight in his blog. Its the really long one, that says from J.C. which is my real name. Go Magic. Go Dwight.

I've only read up to page 3 but, im just thinking, if we have the chance to get wade or bosh just by trading lewis away, im all for the risk. And even if we dont land wade or bosh, dont you think a line up of aldridge and gay would be better than a line up with lewis. Plus aldridge gives us that complementary pf we need next to dwight, not to mention the potential and talent he has, plus a young up coming all star player in gay. just my opinion. trying to be creative.

i agree with u trufan21, hedo is sucking really bad. he was 3-16 fg and still wants to chuck shots up. i say let him walk or try to get something for him.
