Smart move by the Celtics. It's not in their interest to see the Magic get something of value for Redick (if the Magic were trading him). So they offer this garbage which they know the Magic won't bite on, simply to lower JJ's value around the league. Smart move by the Celtics though. I wish the Magic would've wisened up a few seasons ago and done this too. Right now I like our team the way it is, all pieces seem to fit perfectly. That teams are calling Otis with offers like this indicates to me he has no plans to do much if anything. And for the first time since his tenure here I say this is good!

The Magic would be foolish to "showcase" Redick just for a trade to get some average PG for a trade that will make the team look foolish again when JJ continues to get better somewhere else (much like on the Ariza trade). Pietrus is overall our best 2 guard but it's not rare for him to be inconsistent on both offense AND defense. That in part explains why he fell out of favor in uhum.. Golden State. In the future, JJ and CLee will be much more consistent scorers than Pietrus and it won't take long for CLee to become a better all around player than Pietrus. You can take that to the bank. CLee's play is impressive for a rookie and JJ is just beginning to show what he can do, being basically an NBA rookie in terms of playing time and NBA experience.
