I'm gonna rep Gortat for a while i think. (Since the Peach de'Fro is gone)
-
I'm game if you'll have me; i'm only in a Dutch homie league and the roto one somewhere else on this forum so far, so i think i can handle one more for this year. mail: john_tropic@yahoo.com

I'm signed up; this is probably going to be a disaster; i'm terrible at fantasy sports. looking forward to a head to head between forum members; roto is annoying.

Which eastern conference team has a greater chance of beating the lakers in the finals?
John Tropic replied to Die Mannschaft's topic in Around the NBA/Globe Game
fail: you can only select one answer; and i would say all of those 3 could beat the lakers, although i'm not sure if we have a great shot against the (injury-free) Lakers, with the level of play that Gasol has reached lately. -

It's obvious that this guy is underrating Shard's defense (he has his moments, but he struggles with powerful PF's as you might expect when you see his build), and yes his rebounding is bad but he's playing out of position (he is a long SF, in my opinion), and next to the best (Defensive) Rebounder in the league. -

To be clear; this is a projection of the upcoming season, not a review of the one that ended last june. -

Looks like OJ Mayo is the one getting (ab)used in the pictures this time; hard to find any logical pattern between him and Ty Lawson though. Also Vince has got to be a bit too low; i mean this means he's a below average (starting) SG in this league? really? I would've hoped this could motivate him to some degree; but it's Wince we're talking about here. -
We will have Chris Paul and Carmelo Anthony by 2012
John Tropic replied to Jareth Cutestory's topic in Orlando Magic Forum
@ MagicLA: Why would Philly try to trade their core for Melo if he won't sign an extension there? oh and btw; this whole Melo thing is just another pipedream until further notice; wake me up when he's actually in Orlando for the press conference. -
And the power shifts back west yet again.

I doubt SVG would be the kind of guy that enjoys Paris; also; does anyone know if Peaches has lost his 'fro? (since the bet is over by now)

Around the NBA...........

Whatever is left of Cleveland will implode if Z follows LeQueen to Miami.

... 'and fillers' ? also how would Al play with Dwight (yeah SF-PF-C = Shard-Al-Dwight), both need room in the low post to operate. Also i'm kinda critical of all rumours right now; i'll believe it when i see it.

Now that this whole ****ing 'welcome party' has taken place; i'm sure; the Heat is and deserves to be the most hated organisation in all of sports (lakers/celtics at least have something to be respected for), the heat was an organisation with the smallest fanbase in the league and now they're acting like they've already won 8 championships in a row. (censored) em, i hate those (censored) more than anything right now, (censored) em and their (censored)ing fair weather fans.

If this happens (it won't), i will stop watching the NBA (esp. in the middle of the night) for real.

Redick offered 3 years $20m from bulls
John Tropic replied to Captain Hindsight's topic in Orlando Magic Forum
If we match; we have to ship Wince and start J.J. , otherwise it doesn't make sense. sigh.... this week is starting to get really depressing sports-wise... book it that we're losing the World Cup aswell.... (if we do win; that makes up for this whole NBA offseason B-S to me) -
Here come the Heat "fans"!

Good god; caught a glimpse of this 'heat welcome party'; this gives the term "Fair Weather Fans" a new meaning. -
on to the big six six six! (once again)

-
Don't forget they got DaSean Butler aswell (who is still recovering from injury); i suppose he'll be a backup aswell.

If you looked at their home crowd last year; in a good market like Miami; you've got to think they have the smallest 'real' fanbase in the NBA; so we can just assume Heat fan = Bandwagon fan, because 99,9% will be just that. -

This will push all the would-be contenders all around the league to get better; problem is; there isn't a supply of great players that's big enough. hopefully the heat will be filled up with scrubs but i fear the ring chasers.
