  1. Emory, I have to jump in. It is really annoying the hell out of me when people start talking hypocritical and calling people ' you dont know me' when they know nothing about other people. first, hedo always said money is important for him (as you claimed title more important than money) second, filthy rich??? 60% of NBA Players Broke After 5 Years.. http://ballhype.com/story/60_o...broke_after_5_years/ third, Hedo is being offered 15 mil more. I dont see how you refuse that. Finally, Orlando does not need Heod and Hedo does not need Orlando at this point. Orlando have their playmaker now. Hedo's role would be substantially lower with VC's presence
  2. quote: Originally posted by ball junkie:How can Hedo get 10 mil a year when all they have to spend is 8...? They will renounce the rights for former draft picks Koponen and someoneelse. that puts them 9.7 mil to offer for the first year
  3. How about a S&T with Miami sinse D-wade wants Hedo. Maybe for Haslem and someone else
  4. Guys, I dont think we will be signing Gortat. too expensive.. VC is an upgrade for sure but loosing so many pieces from championship team and diluting the roster. This makes it very vulnerable to any injury. I dont feel good.
  5. Guys, how about looking at this angle. Hedo signed with Magic for a decent MLE 5 years ago. but I think he was underpaid last two season based on his production. The fact is there are a lot of player that are grossly overpaid. Wouldn't you try to get the best deal out there. you cant entirely blame Hedo for asking 50 mil even though it is a terrible market out there. After all, Sheed is making 2.5 times more than Hedo with a slightly better production. I think my point is I cant blame Magic not wanting to sign Hedo for less and cant blame Hedo for asking more since he deserves it. So we stop the blame war (Turk haters and lovers). and personal attack to each other
  6. Drain-O interesting take on Millsap. As far as I know they really like Millsap there and owner was very critical of Boozer's D and his commitment to the team. I think they will keep Millsap. unload either Boozer or AK47 in the mid-season or pay tax this year and wait for the expiring contracts (they have around 15 mil expiring)
  7. quote: Originally posted by chosen12: I could be wrong, but if you are not #1 on anyones list...$44 mil is nothing to walk away from, not to mention a starting position on the most powerful starting five in the league!!!!! well he was #1 on Ric Buchner's list :P
  8. quote: Originally posted by chosen12: This is what I did not understand about Hedo, the $$ available today are to lean to chance! Hedo had to take his chances this year. no one will offer a decent contract to a would-be 31 years-old player. this is Hedo's last big payday
  9. oh and also Boozer is in love with money. he said he will opt-out ahole he was still injured. and we all know how he left cleveland to go to Utah. how can you trust this guy?
  10. I dont get the Boozer love... He is a very good low-post player. what happened to the the idea that Howard is gonna develop a good low post game. Are we gonna have two players waiting for the ball in the paint. You need shooters around Dwight and a rebounder... For this reason Okur would compliment very nicely. He can shoot he can rebound. he can play PF or C if D12 gets into foul trouble. I would pay Okur 10 mil instead of paying gortat 6 mil.I say Hedo is not really needed at this point, he will go somewhere else. Forget about gortat and go get Okur. Now Boozer opted-in. Jazz will loose either Okur or Millsap
  11. I have to jump in and make a comment about Okur. I dont think Utah will let him go since he has been very good for them. But he would fit very nicely in Orlando. It is true that his defense is not great but it is nt bad either. besides when you have Dwight you dont need a defensive stopper in Pf position. dwight will protect the rim. Actually Okur does a good job defending big and slow guys like Yao and Duncan Okur's strength is he can shoot the light out, stretch the floor for dwight and he is a very good rebounder. but unfortunately, Magic cannot afford Okur at this point.
  12. Echo, I see your point. As I always say the offer Otis made is very reasonable and has nothing to do with disrespect. The point is (I will say it again) the MAgic shut the door for Hedo too early. There was no negotiations, just one offer (as far as we know). Now MAgic cannot afford to sign Hedo for 7-8 mil at this time. To me It looks like they decided to move forward without Hedo. Think about it if they really wanted him back they would wait for couple weeks see what the market is for Hedo. you can argue they made better choice with not waiting and getting Vince. That is understandable. after all basketball is a business
  13. I agree that this mess is on Hedo and his agent. if those numbers are correct (we dont know for sure) Otis made a fair offer. But the point is what the magic offered and what Hedo wanted is not far apart. they can easily negotiate after July 1 when Hedo realize it is a good offer. Otis said he will let Hedo test the free agent market. Now bringing Carter in means they dont need Hedo and they cant even offer him 5-6 mil per year. I did not hear Carter's name in any rumors recently. this trade could easily happen end of July or something. No rush, right? My conclusion is that they made a choice between Hedo/Lee and Carter. and obviously they picked Carter. I guess it makes a lot of sense business-wise. As I said I cant believe it happened, I am bummed about it.
  14. As a turkish fan I am very bummed about Carter trade. As we all know that means bye bye to Hedo and since I really really like the Magic team, this came shocking to me. My prediction was that Hedo would settle for 5 years 43 mil. but surprisingly he did not. Now my question is : Carter trade did not involve any draft picks so there was no rush for that trade to happen. Otis said he will let Hedo test the free agency market. but he made his offer and he just moved on. Maybe Hedo would realize after July 1 that Otis is offering him a reasonable contract. was the trade premeditated? did they plan on getting Carter or another superstar since he is a fan favorite and it means a boost in ticket sales?
