  1. WHY CAN'T THE MAGIC WIN THE NEXT 2 GAMES AT HOME AND GO WITH MOMENTUM TO CLEVELAND AND BEAT THEM IN GAME 5?

WITH ALL THE RESPECT TO EVERYBODY, I'D SUPERSIZE THE LINE-UP AS MICH AS POSSIBLE:

    JI on Mitchell

    Jalen on Garland

    Franz on Strus

    Paolo on Mobley

    Wendell on Allen

The Cavs are big and rebound well, BUT WE ARE A BETTER DEFENSIVE TEAM THAN THEM. Play Goga if necessary....play & stay BIG !!!!

I still like the Magic in 6 , but if it takes 7, bring it on.....I live for win or go home games

  2. Doubt 2nd round pick will be kept because of the young guns "we have" to continue to develop: AB, Jett and this year 1st rounder.

The second 1st round pick we have in 2026 is a product of trading a bunch of 2nd round picks....so this year's could easily be traded for a better asset in the future.

" The Orlando Magic have acquired the unprotected swap rights to a 2026 first round draft pick from Phoenix or Washington in exchange for three future second round draft picks – the 2024 pick from Denver, the 2026 least-favorable pick between Orlando, Milwaukee or Detroit (via the L.A. Clippers) and 2028 pick"

"During the next seven NBA drafts (2024-30), Orlando has eight first round picks and 12 second round picks."

The Lakers winning last night was kinda good for us. Pushed us into a 4 way tie for 16th-19th pick rather than a 3 way tie for 17th-19th and gave us a chance at pick 16.

If we get real lucky on this one and pull another rabbit with #16.....is like kinda picking in the lottery.

  4. A FRUSTRATED AND TIRED (CAN'T EVEN JUMP) BANCHERO HAS THE TEAM FRUSTRATED........

AND COULD VERY WELL FRUSTRATE A BUNCH OF US IF HE CONTINUES TO FORCE IT.....

AND EVERYTHING IS BY DESIGN....BALL IN HIS HANDS, BALL IN HIS HANDS.....

THE DESIGN HAS TO BE MODIFIED AND A FAST PACE OF BASKETBALL HAS TO RETURN TO THE TEAM.

  5. The Magic proved me wrong, I admit. Lost 3 straight games by and average of  4 points.

In these 3 losses, Paolo committed a total of 15 turnovers, good for more than a dozen points for the other teams.

Paolo owes his teammates to play better, much better.

Wish that the free agent (Klay Thompson hopefully) that we sign this year explains him how other teams play him and forced him to commit these errors.

  6. FOR NO REASON, THE STAGE LAST NIGHT SEEMED TOO BIG FOR THE MAGIC.........NOT FOR COLE !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

MIGHT BE TIME TO INSERT HIM AS A STARTER.....AT THE END OF THE DAY THE STARTERS ARE THE PLAYERS THAT TEAMS RELY TO WIN GAMES.

TEAM NEEDS A PG THAT CAN CREATE ASSITS (5 PER GAME / 36 MPG), SCORE, SHOOT 3'S, REBOUND AND REFIEF PAOLO OF HANDLING THE BALL SO MUCH.

The Magic has 11 games left in the regular season.

You all know that I am a huge, diehard Magic fan. Now hear me out.

In looking at the teams we play in the remaining 11 games of the regular season, my opinion is the Magic will lose 9 of them. Look at the schedule.

If the Magic players try to play iso instead of moving the ball around to find the open teammate, we are going to be in a lot of trouble. We need to play at a faster pace and make our free throws. Lastly, the coach needs to make better rotations.

Other teams are going to take advantage, scoring wise, if the Magic chuck too many 3s and they are not falling.

What do you think?      I HOPE WE WIN 9 GAMES OUT OF 11!

    I COULD BE PROVEN WRONG.....

BUT THE MAGIC AS THEY ARE, CAN PLAY AND DEFEAT ANYONE, ANYDAY, HOME OR AWAY.

I REALLY DON'T CARE IF WE ARE A TOP 4 OR TOP 6 SEED.

  8. Let's not forget that sometimes the tree (coach and staff) has to be shaken too. Their strategy is not working anymore....tempo was too slow and  passive last night, they play like this some games and it simply doesn't work.

Personnel adjustments to tonight's game? Absolutely, IMO. Markelle has been ruled out already, so start Cole instead of slow and  passive AB (nice player though) and give that guy #7, Kevon Harris and opportunity now that he is back healthy.

  9. Paolo with a total of 78 turnovers (3.3 PG) as of today ranks 8th worst in the league....Cade Cunningham is # 1 with 104.

If Markelle doesn't return soon I wouldn't be surprised if Cole is inserted in the starting line-up......sometimes you have to tweak things and I think Paolo and Franz, especially Paolo needs to freelance more and not handle the ball as much as he has been. Time will tell.

Players that could make an impact for us, that are maybe under the radar, could be..

    PG: Monte Morris

    SG/SF: Josh Green, Kispert, Moody

and dark horse player Vassell (if they’d decide not to want to pay that contract, cause it’s Wembys team now)

For that SG/SF group i’d actually be willing to trade a top 10 protected pick, alongside G. Harris.

Monte Morris would be a trade i’d make if Fultz looks like he’d be dealing with that injury too long or if it would keep being a nagging injury for him.

Id trade Morris for Okeke and some of our 2nd round picks

Doug McDermott......career 42 % 3PT shooter. Shooting 47% this year in a team that is going nowhere, the Spurs.

  11. The Magic Survived SURVIVAL TIME #1: Went 12 - 5 with key wins over Lakers, Bucks, Pacers, Nuggets, Celtics.

Here comes SURVIVAL TIME #2: This stretch of games versus: Cavs, Celtics (back-to back), Heat, Bucks, Pacers, Philly, Knicks, Suns, Warriors, Kings, Nuggets on the road, before returning home.

If the Magic are 100% healthy they have a chance to defeat many of these teams and do well in this stretch = FUN !!!

I hope this is the case very early in the stretch and Markelle, Wendell, Jalen and JI play inside the white lines.

Too early to say who'll be available at certain spots in that range.

Also pretty pessimistic to presume we're now a lottery team after 2 losses.

Injuries a galore....the Markelle one on his surgical repaired knee could linger for a long time. So far, how many games he been out? Fifteen and counting?

Never pessimistic, always realistic. I'd bet the FO is looking at late lottery alternatives.

We all know that there are enough good teams in the East that can leave the Magic in the dust. Go Magic.

  13. Last night games (Dec 6), 3 points baskets made by each team:

    Memphis 11, Detroit 11, Philly 8 , Wash 14, Bkn 11, Atl 12, SA 8 , Min 12, Mia 14, Tor 14, Cha 10, Chi 12, Okc 8 , Hou 15,  Utah 12, Dallas 22, Por 16, GS 10, Den 12, LAC 12

    CAVS 14, MAGIC 2

HOWEVER, THE WORST PART IS THAT THE MAGIC ARE THE 2ND TO LAST 3 PT % TEAM IN THE EAST !!!! Only the Raptors are worst.

Defense, especially by the DPY (Jalen) was carrying the team...so what happens the next couple of weeks might not be fun to watch. Go Magic.

There's no way you win a game in 2023 with 2 made threes.

Franz was horrible for a large portion of the game, struggling to score and letting that affect his defense. Final line doesn't look too bad because he shared the ball and got to the FT line.

Losing Suggs sucks. Really hope that isn't major.

The all bench unit (or even majority bench unit) simply does not work defensively without Jonathan Isaac. Too many mismatches to hunt, too many guys who don't impact it on that end of the floor.

Missing WCJ terribly honestly, his mobility and toughness would have been huge against this very quick perimeter Cavs team with 2 bigs down low.

It's a testament to our relentlessness to attack the paint that that game was kind of close.Paolo was awesome, feel bad that literally none of his teammates could help him out on that end for an extended stretch.

Honestly I'd have liked to see more Anthony Black. Thought he was great in the minutes he played.

Cole Anthony infuriates the hell out of me. Sometimes he's phenomenal. Sometimes he does the dumbest stuff. Like you just force a turnover and he dribbles it down straight into a pull up 3, nobody else touches the basketball. He misses and they turn it into early offense and score. That's a 4 point swing on one possession off of a dumb shot. I get when he's feeling it he can hit those but only one Magic player was feeling it tonight and it wasn't him.

I'm starting to wonder if the way this team played in that opening 15 or so games was more of an anomaly than who they were. We were relentless on the glass, we were everywhere on defense and we were forcing a load of turnovers. This was another game where we quite frankly looked bad defensively for large periods and got out rebounded massively including on the offensive glass.

Uncle Joe was "guarding" sideways a few times last night....did anybody noticed?

Zero points, 3 fouls in 17 minutes....don't understand why Okeke can't crack playing time under last night circumstances.

Disclaimer: this is not a reflection of where we are as a team or me giving up on the season or anything like that I just like talking about draft prospects.

NCAA season has started so thought we could start to use this.

Because I expected us to be better this year I haven't gotten a jump on draft prospects as early as I usually would. Learning as I go but trying not to focus in on the top guys.

Last few years we've been looking at top draft guys. Top 5, top 10 etc. Have a feeling we'll be more in that 14-20 range this coming year (or maybe we even trade the pick? Who knows?)

Looking in that range I'm really looking at guys who fit. For me guys that fit this team (i.e. fit with Paolo and Franz) are: big guard or wing shooters, stretch bigs or mobile rim protecting bigs.

Jakobe Walter, freshman from Baylor, caught my eye yesterday:

    https://youtu.be/3VNZPAdy3ZU?si=nTaOpYONElbvyqP9

Clearly not a shot creator but he looks to have incredible touch and can shoot the 3 off of movement. Givony has him at #16 at ESPN early on.

Another guy I like (don't have any highlights from this year yet) is Trevon Brazile, stood out to me at times watching AB film last season at Arkansas but only played a handful of games due to injury. 6'10, super athlete, mobile on defense and his 3 point jumper looks good. (He's currently at #25 on ESPN)

But there are loads of other guys I'm interested in seeing, some guys we shouldn't be in a position to draft and some we might be, playing in College, overseas and for G League Ignite.

At 10 to 13, at what options are we looking at?

The injuries to 3 starters, the 2 losses to the Nets and the loss to Cleveland last (Dec 6) and the upcoming schedule makes me wonder.....

Upcoming Games: Cavs, Celtics (2), Heat, Bucks, Pacers, Philly, Knicks, Suns. In-between these 9 games, one with the Pistons and one with the Wizards.

I agree with CT on all these and will continue to preach - we're drafting good players, creating culture, and then signing them to long term deals to generally stay within the cap.

We're not going to take a big swing on a free agent that puts us at the cap with a need to extend Paolo to a max in 2 years to send us way over the cap cliff. We're a small market team and we want a championship, but we're not going to put ourselves in cap jeopardy by signing someone to a deal just to make a splash.

But if we do... it's definitely going to be before we sign Franz / Suggs to deals.

Recently, the high end free agents never make it to free agency, some examples are KD, Harden, Kyrie. Reason why IMO, what's going to happen IF WE ARE GOING TO TRY TO MAKE A QUICK JUMP is a blockbuster trade in which most everybody is available except Paolo, Franz, Jalen and maybe Cole and JI.
