I liked having Brook Lopez as a mentor for our young guys last year. Hopefully Harris takes on that role this year. I just don't want to sacrifice young undeveloped talent and lose that asset for nothing to sign a mediocre player at best. Like you said deciding who to build around is difficult so I'd rather have more options while they develop, especially since thats the sole reason we brought Mosely here. Once we identify our core then perhaps we can bring in more veteran players who complement our core.

Gift wrapping Sabonis hurts too.
-
Skiles should also shoulder part of the blame if I remember correctly. He was ready to compete even though we were obviously still rebuilding and nowhere near contention.
-
Last year it was done out of necessity with all our injuries at point guard. We were tanking so I think coach took the opportunity to put him there to force him to initiate the offense and try to get others involved. It wasn't pretty but perhaps it will help his development. Same thing goes for the summer league. He definetely has the athleticism to play the point if he could improve ball handling and playmaking abilities. Until those are developed I'd hope he's used at the 2/3 during the season.
-
No doubt he has talent and it won't cost us much to kick the tires and see if he continue's to develop. Mosley's forte is player development after all.
-
All valid points Mauro! I'm just hoping we continue to take the original OKC route and build thru the draft without blowing it up. How many championships would Durant, Westbrook, Ibaka, and Harden have if they had stayed in OKC?
-
This made me throw-up in my mouth a little. NO WAY do we throw assets down the drain for a soon to be declining diva who never won anything before going to Golden State in his prime. We wouldn't have a team capable of competing during Durant's short window. (Even shorter when he requests a trade after declaring he's a "God" and yet we still lose)
-
Although a great player I wouldn't want Durant anywhere near our team. He was never able to be the guy on a championship team and he's a Lebron level Narcissist and drama queen. We've been patient with our rebuild let's not start trading off our high upside talent before we see what we have for a 2 year window to win it all. Even more so when that established star has already requested trades from several teams. Haven't we experienced enough of this in our short history? Let's continue to build organically until we are a player away from competing and shoot for a star on a similar timeline.

Harris was injured and waived by us in a trade right? He never suited up for Orlando.
-
and to think we had Seth Curry and just let him go....
-
Well you speak of health. Maybe this is a good thing as Lavine had a difficult time staying healthy last year. Perhaps the injury bug bites again and we capitalize!!!

The Magic FO.....Always has you guessing! ;p

No doubt! I'd rather the end of the bench have someone who could develop rather than an old washed up journeyman on this rebuilding team. He's had a few different injuries though so atleast it's not the same injury. Chuma had a pretty rough year, I think it'll be nice to have someone talented behind him to push him to earn his backup minutes. If Bol doesn't work out what have we actually missed out on? To me Bol = A knockoff Holmgren. Yet Bol was drafted in the second round...

Awesome! As I said before I believe the kid has untapped potential. Here's hoping we can bring it out...Otherwise the trade to acquire him and keeping him during his recovery made absolutely no sense.
-
Considering best ability is availability, it's no wonder he's bounced around. He really hasn't had much of a chance to develop. I'm still holding out hope he is given a chance and develops. He's younger than most of our G-league roster with more potential I believe. If he goes unsigned do you think he'd accept a G-league offer? Does he even qualify?
-
He's a 7 footer that can handle the ball, shoot, block shots and play the 3. Still needs to develop and wouldn't cost much. More potential than most older players on our D-league roster. Is he eligible for the D league?
-
So no chance of a Bol Bol signing?
-
I was kind of hoping we'd keep Bol Bol. Maybe we can get him cheaper than his 2.7 QO?
-
It's not that bad...lol. I stop in a few times while working looking for updates.

Assuming you mean Suggs and Wagner as Banchero and Houstan are the first 2 on the left list. (You may have to click the pic). Understandable why you don't have Wagner there but I would think Suggs would benefit from it unless he's still recovering.
-
A big no thanks to Shaq and 3D putting a group together to purchase the team. Shaq left this dried up little pond awhile ago. We've moved on.
-
Interesting when Hammond discusses our forwards he mentions Wagner, Banchero, even Carter but strangely enough no mention of Isaac being back in the fold. As fans we have kind of wrote Isaac off until we see him stay healthy, kind of curious if our management feels the same way.

Thanks!

Hell we should be able to afford a capable broadcast team based on our 2nd round cash considerations we receive every year. I believe it was north of 2.2 million this year.
