I'm not all that interested in trading stuff for a thing we already have when that thing is a backup. It'd be one thing if Frank was on a minimum deal and we could just flip a second rounder for him but he makes 4.9 million which means you need to give something real back to them.

Maybe something like a $4.9M injured player exception

Meh. Beasley is the only guy I'd want from that group

Bogdanovic is good but who are you sending back for him.

    Ntilikina is basically MCW.

We don't really have the time to develop Lonnie

Beasley is the guy in this group. Young and good enough to contribute today. but I have no idea what Denver is expecting back for him. Jefferson and our first? But then what do we do with Fournier?

Ntilikina could be a better version of MCW with more years of cost control, I think he fits the mold of this team well

He's a super selfish player that makes terrible decisions with the ball and consistently chooses difficult shots over passing to a teammate.

Genuine question. Do you feel the same way about Devin Booker? He seems to be in the same vein as LaVine where he can score a lot but isn't a good defender and the jury is still out on if he can be a winning player. Like, let's say in a year or two Booker requests a trade. Would you feel comfortable cashing in our assets on him?

Trade deadline is February 6th. Augustin is supposed to be out through February 5th at the earliest. Nobody is going to trade for augustin the player. Some team might trade for his expiring contract.

Could it be possible that we're holding him out because he's going to be traded and we can't have him get injured? This "injury" he has seems like baloney

  5. Just trying to create some intriguing trade packages here. Realistically, what could a package of AG + Chuma + our 1st + the Lakers 2nd fetch us? Is there a player whos not untouachable that we could target with that package? Or what if we swapped out Chuma for Evan? Maybe someone in the same tier as Jrue Holiday? And this seems like somewhat of an overpay for Jrue Holiday.

We'd also be interested in okogie from a pure style perspective

kind of like how it wasn't hard to know we'd be interested in Gary Clark.

But I wouldn't trade for him.

Real question hasn't changed though. What about Wiggins?

Flashed another 10 game stretch early this year where he averaged 28/5/4 and hit 39% of his threes. Since then his production has cratered. Completely cratered.

    Is it worth the gamble?

Can he play next to fultz?

Is he a culture and coaching change away from reaching his potential?

Is he another Rudy gay type guy who looks the part of a first option but never impacts winning due to flaws in his game who earns enough money on a long enough contract to completely destroy your team building?

He's such a fascinating player. Really want to see what happens when he eventually leaves Minnesota. Just don't really know if I want to be the team that gambles.

Okogie is an interesting prospect. He fits the bill of defense and length and versatility, and Minnesota wants to keep KAT happy so maybe they want some pieces to help them win now rather than develop for 5 years down the road.

The Wiggins gamble is hard man. It could either give us the missing piece to build a contender... Or it could mess up our cap and handicap us from building a winner around Fultz/JI and set us back for years, thus ruining the WeltHam rebuild. My gut says we shoudn't try for Wiggins. But on the other hand, scared money dont make none......

  7. Iwundu played PG at K State and he's impressed me with the ball in his hands this season. He has a good handle, he can push the pace, he seeks contact, he defends well. I think he should be the backup PG going forward while MCW plays more wing. I just think Wes is better than Augustin at this point. If he gets consistent minutes, he gets into grooves. That's just the way he plays.

This is purely speculation, but it was interesting that Durant went publicly on twitter of his appreciation of Vooch. Is it possible that The Nets are falling apart?; as Kyrie remains an enigma with this shoulder injury; perhaps Durant sees the writing on the wall and is prospecting his next move. The question for us is, is it worth considering as he is 31 and recovering from an Achilles injury? It usually doesn’t work out too well at that age; see Kobe.

This is 10000% not the case but yes it would be worth taking on

The progression of Markelle takes from Sixers fans (and where we will eventually get to):

    • LOL he's the biggest bust ever dude.  The fact that Brand got anything for him is a miracle.
    • No timeline still huh? He'll be a great cheerleader on your bench!
    • Wow he made a 3, congrats.
    • Yeah he made a couple 3s but his shot still looks atrocious.
    • Nothing has even changed, he did all of this stuff in Philly too.  People just didn't care.
    • 20 point career high lol, is this what we are praising from a #1 pick now?
    • 25 point career high lol, is this what we are praising from a #1 pick now?
    • You really think a 30 point triple double is a big deal? Let's see him do it again.  Luka does it all the time.
    • LOL if he was really that good the Magic wouldn't have needed 6 games to win that series.

"If he was REALLY that good, he would have been UNANIMOUS finals MVP. Not only win 70% of the votes for it"

I’ve never seen a player like Fultz. Maybe it’s been a while but I just can’t wrap my head around who he resembles. He gets to the basket but it’s sorta erratic. He looks uncontrolled but he’s very much in control. Even his passing. So good but you’re like “”wait, huh?” Because he pulls it out of his ass unexpectedly. You think it’s a possible TO but no, he had that figured out beforehand.

Hes the basketball version of Drunken King Fu.

His body movements look a lot like Steve Nash

Yes... but we have the Devos family who interferes

I am 100% certain that Hennigan wouldn't have made that god awful Serge Ibaka trade if he didn't have old man Devos pressuring him to make the playoffs one last time before he croaked. Our ownership meddles with decision making and always has.. and Alex Martins is their henchman.

    Prove me wrong.

The Ibaka trade was horrible from day 1 but at least we were able to salvage it and turn it into T Ross and Markelle

Time to blow it up. It's been time. We tried to make the playoffs for Old Man Devos and now he is gone. Blow it up. I hate being stuck in mediocrity. Trade everyone except Fultz and Isaac. The longer we wait this year the worse our draft pick is going to be. This team is going nowhere.

Blowing it up doesnt make sense but we SHOULD 'retool'. We can trade Vooch and still be competitive (or at least we could have when Isaac was still healthy).

If I'm WeltHam I trade Evan to PDX for Simons, Little, and Bazemore. Gives us a solid stopgap and two upside guys.

I also trade Vooch to Boston for Hayward. maybe not straight up, but I'd find a trade there that works. (Maybe throw in DJ for salary matching purposes)

I think Khem can play starter minutes at C full time, but if you are not of that belief, there are plenty of cheap centers available by free agency or trade (Noah, Dedmon, etc.)

    Fultz/Bazemore/Hayward/AG/whoever

    Ross/Bamba/MCW/Iwundu/Simons

Little can play down in Lakeland to develop.

    Cut Amile

    And you have a squad

Since we are doing stupid trades here is a 3d chess trade.

Philly screwed up and signed Horford, lets "help" them out. http://www.espn.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=yx7egkrp

We send Dj,Evan and Aminu who actually plays again this year and plays his usual 3 and D. Evan and Dj hit 3's at 40% thanks to all the open looks Embid and Simmons create. Philly gets better all year and knocks out out the Bucks and the Celtics in the playoffs before losing to the west. Giannis gets frustrated and demands a trade.Celtics decide they can't beat Philly without Horford and trade with us to get him back.Evan and Dj leave Philly because it's too cold.

Meanwhile in Orlando Thybulle,Horford,Futlz,McW,Isaac and Gordon form together to create the best defense ever! Unfortunately we only score 89 points a game and wind up a mid lotto team. Magic win the Lottery and draft Anthony Edwards who becomes the next Michael Jordon. Celtics trade us Hayward for Horford so they don't lose him for nothing.

    The end.

I would lose it if we got Thybulle. That kid is SPECIAL on defense. Buuuut, he's gonna be untouchable

  14. How would Evan and the Lakers 2nd for Bazemore/Little/Simons look for us? Who says no?

Not sure if this is an overpay from the Blazers end... But they have been rumored in the past to target Evan (believe they offered Harkless and a protected 1st last year for him)... And they're in a position where they need to try and win now with Dame/CJ/all of their injured big men..

I think this is recency bias because it looked alright last night. We were outscored by 1 point with Birch-Vucevic lineups last night.

Off the bench once Isaac is back though it could work. I cant remember, did Birch and Bamba ever share the court last night? If so, what was their net rating? Fwiw, in limited minutes, Bamba-Birch is net positive.https://stats.nba.com/lineups/advanced/?Season=2019-20&SeasonType=Regular Season&GroupQuantity=2&sort=TS_PCT&dir=1&TeamID=1610612753

  16. I think we should take a look at Little; I didnt want us to draft him but he's looked pretty good on D in a limited role in Portland.

I also like the ideas of Knox and Ntilikina from New York, especially if theyre available for cheap. Ntilikina is a philosophical fit here with his length and defensive instincts. Knox could be a good scorer in a few years and maybe a change of scenery could help him.

Some other potential buy low, solid upside candidates are Lonzo and Giles. Would add MPJ to this list too but I dont think hes going to be available.

  17. Do you guys think Khem as a 4 in the rotation is a viable long term option? Even when Isaac is back, I think Khem should get minutes at the 4. Our offense just works so much better when he's out there setting very good screens. Ross got so many open looks off of Khem's screens.

Spacing could be an issue until Clifford gives him the green light to shoot 3's (we saw him shoot a few in preseason-- I hope he's working to bring that to actual games).

I think a 9 man rotation consisting of Fultz-Evan-AG-JI-Vooch-Ross-DJ/MCW-Bamba-Birch makes sense
