I see Fultz as our future, but he still has a ways to go especially on defense. I love his progression thus far. I was hoping for a solid combo guard like Brogdon who can play off the ball or distribute in a pinch.
-
Sounds logical. Maybe that’s our long term goal while our youth comes of age. I was hoping our vets would be more competitive, but it’s early yet and we could certainly use a tweak for now.
-
We’re in a tough spot because you have to have players that others want and not mortgage your future. We are in that dreaded zone of mediocracy that is so hard to move from. Some say it’s the worst position to be in versus dare I say a lotto team for a few more years, but then I see the Heat always reinventing themselves.
-
Our future is two guys in their early 20s, we can’t expect much I suppose. Our vets are average; let’s not sugar coat this. The team is flawed as currently constructed. I have to keep reminding myself of this because it seems like we’ve been on this treadmill forever.
-
Yeah, If we can’t defend the pick and roll and hit shots then it’s going to be a long year. AG has been horrible! Bamba shows why we needed to sign Vooch; although he’s making incremental gains. TRoss is as streaky as they come. Can’t fault DJ for his role and what he’s paid, JI/Fultz need time, Aminu has not gained traction and Evan is a sixth man on good team. We need a change!
-
Agreed, but we look better on paper then last year.
-
I’m beginning to think our run last year at the end of the season was a fluke. By all accounts on paper we should be better this year; yet we’re really stinking it up. Bottom line, we are a very average team and it looks like we won’t break 40 wins and 30 is beginning to look concerning.

I think it’s the opposite. The way we’re built we have to score off our defense and if we don’t we don’t have enough firepower on offense.
-
If we think we can exchange baskets with these guys we’re in trouble.
-
I don’t know what going on with AG. There has to be a mental aspect to it at this point.
-
I would be more of a AG advocate if he would stick to defense, cutting to basket and spot up 3s, but I agree he is trying to be Mamba and he just doesn’t have it; he’s a bull. I’m also not sure his ego will allow him to be the best role player he can be.

For sure, you never know in the NBA as everything doesn’t always transfer with the tougher competition and the demands on the player’s bodies.
-
After viewing Okeke film I do see his shooting potential however I think this is a new wrinkle for Bamba; he has worked very hard on shooting since being drafted. I’m pretty excited on what Okeke may bring, all the more reason to move AG as I’m hopeful Okeke will be more balance then AG.
-
I’m beginning to wonder if our philosophy of drafting defense first, serves us best in every draft? The idea being that we can make them better shooters, but when I see a guy like Hero it makes me wonder.

I feel like everyone can see the problem with DJ running the point and Fultz standing in the corner. It just doesn't maximize either player's strengths and it seems sort of like a no-brainer. Problem is Cliff is probably the most stubborn coach we've ever had, so I'm unsure if he'll ever wake up to this. I'm not sure what is happening at halftime and coming into third quarters but something has got to change right now. There's no excuse for the runs we're allowing coming out of the half. AG needs to go. There's been something off with him even chemistry-wise right from the beginning this year.
No doubt Fultz needs the ball in hand.

What a horrible pick Mario was! I can’t believe he is still in the NBA.

We can cash in Gordon but I'm not really sure what we're supposed to get for him. A high volume wing is going to harm the development of fultz and Isaac. Gordon is taking 11.9 shots per game. Where is a high volume scorer getting the extra 4-6 shots per game.
I hear ya, and agree we get impatient at times, it’s been soooooo long. We may have to wait longer unless someone out there really values AG. It’s tricky for sure. I’m just saying be open to a reasonable opportunity.
-
I’m hoping AG comes around more, but still feel we need to cash out on him if the return is right. Where else are we going to improve our roster? Unless you think he has another level. I think he’s close to his ceiling and is mainly an energy guy with solid D most of the time (role player)#1 Fultz is the future at the one, #2 Evan is outplaying his contract now, future remains to be seen, #4 JI is the future and #5 Vooch isn’t going anywhere. The only spot to replace is AG or EF but we need his outside shooting if price is right. We already have Aminu and Okeke in AG spot. We need a younger Derozen type with a 3 shot at least 35% who can create when offense goes stale especially in playoffs when it’s a different game or we will be exposed again like Toronto did to us.

Something’s off with Gordon.

I agree with most of your analysis, but TRoss can play decent D when engaged.

Couldn’t agree with you more.

I find it very difficult to make an assertion that one peticular player is better then another when the tiers are so tight. I feel that it all depends on the system and the core that player is playing on as to whether the said player will excel at the level that many would project him to.
-
It is temping and I see your angle as far as balance of rotation goes, but Holiday is going on 30 and Reddick is 35. I would like some youth or pick to sweeten the pot for a very solid role player at 24 with a good deescluating contract.

To tell you the truth I have tried in the past to align with him by complimenting him when I felt his points were spot on and agree that his stat work is solid, but he is too negative for me.

This is a very significant game for us. If we lose then we drop out of 8th spot. We’ve got our main guys healthy and we’ve had some practices so there’s no reason to lose and if we do this is not good. It’s time to step up men....
