Magic vs. Celtics - Prediction Poll

Rondo didnt go off until he was defended by guys like Williams. He is good but Nelson will give him loads of problems.

    Magic vs Celtics

Dwight has to step up if he is a true star in this league and make them pay when he is single teamed. If he cant do that then it will be hard. We still beat them 3 out of 4 but it will be easier if they can get the pass to him when he is in position .

Nelson out 4-6 Weeks with Knee Surgery

I think Iverson is exactly who we do need for a couple of reasons. J Will is fine to start IMO. All we really need is a guard to take 20 minutes a game. The bigest complaint I have of this team is that they stand around chucking 3's. We need guards who are faat can break down defenses and be a scoring machine. Your talking allan Iverson going against their backup point. He can and will hustle, might not be a great team player in that he wont distribute the ball as much as he should but he could be a real scoring threat that teams would have to worry about.
  4. Boys boys. I dont think SVG is hiding the lineup to surprise the other team at the last second. I mean it takes them 2 seconds to send in someone else. Most important for this team right now with all the new players, and i think we are seeing it in the high turnovers, is continuity and familiarity with what the other guys do. I dont think a consistent rotation will be set until maybe 20 games in. All that said, it doesnt really matter who you start overall. If you start Lewis he may have an advantage on the offensive end but a disadvantage on the defensive end depending on who we are playing, so as that goes during the course of the game you switch in someone else. Bass is interesting because at the PF spot you give up the 3 but you get a consistnet 2 and good board play to help Dwight. Now if Lewis takes on average 8 3-point shots per game, say he makes 4 of them, your down 4 points production in that spot but what do you get in rebounds? To me, you start Bass to wear down the starters then bring in your shooters later who are fresh as a general rule. So i would personally start Bass at PF bring in Anderson later at PF, keep lewis at SF and relieve him with Barnes or Petry dish maybe.
  5. Call me crazy but I think Redick would do fine as a limited minute PG. He can handle the ball, is a scoring threat and plays with energy when he is in there which is what you want.

Barnes & Watson - Check, now what next??

Why does this mean Lewis stays at PF ? IMO, I would think it might mean he stays there when Anderson is in at SF, playing the Hedo role, but if Bass is in, he moves to SF.
  7. Only problem is Carter needs rest too. Carter then has to stay in for Nelson to get rest. That wont always work out. IMO you always need 3 guys who can bring the ball up.

Delusional Cav fans happy with VC trade...

Why is everyone thinking VC will take the small forward spot? He is a guard, we lost 2 guards. He has to take that spot not Hedos SF spot.

    Sheeeed

Howard needs help with rebounding. Wallace or McDysse would be great for that. Both can shoot both have inside game. True PF. Move Shard to SF where he can abuse 6'8" players, Carter SG, Nelson of course at point. Off the bench. Anderson Pietrus, Gortat and whoever we could get on the cheap.

    Who is this Ryan Anderson?

He does what Hedo does except he shoots the ball high like Lewis and goes for rebounds more often. But he hits the 3 and drives to the basket like Hedo. About the same size too and also more agile. If we dont get a PF and move Shard to SF, he coukld start at SF. His points per game would probably be in the 14 points per range but with Vince, that would be enough. I know Nnets fans arent happy losing him.

Please spare us the panic topics.

yeah and they had many wide open shots, i think they might have been too anxious. hit the shots and that gives more room for dwight and less rebounds for them which means less points for them. We will have those occasional cold nights. Just cant have it again,

Orlando's Worst Game of the Season

everyone had alot of open looks. it looked to me like jameer was afraid to shoot a long ball, perhaps with his shoulder but other than that the guy was doing great, great passing, knowing how to run the team. we will be in great shape at the point next year. When noone hits its easy to sink in on dwight and hack him. The team that this is is one in which we willhave games like that. If noone hits open shots we lose and lose miserably. I dont think we will see that again. I expect a win Sunday. Although with regard to minutes, SVG has to make some choices. Meer got 23 minutes last night, which he probably deserved, but splitting minuites down the line might not allow either guy to get into rythym. But clearly, Nelson is the better PG.

    The Meer Effect

we didnt make wide open shots. simple as that and if we did it would open up space for howard. Just one of those games when everyone is off. Look at it this way, early in the game when we hit, we were taking them to the cleaners, when they all went cold the lead just wiped away. You have to hit open shots. That said they have to step it up on defense. Lakers were shooting the lights out.
