CONTRACT WITH TORONTO DONE? (2nd update pg7)

Thanks for clearing that up for me...Yea, I think it's pretty obvious that he isn't going to stay at Toronto.... I could see him going to Orlando, seeing how he's more likely to do a S&T rather than take less money in free agency, and Orlando has the pieces(Bass, Gortat, JJ) to attract Toronto's GM. I still firmly believe he will go wherever LeBron goes, if LeBron goes anywhere.

Is Dwight Howard a Batman or a Robin?

Dwight and Jameer are Batman and Robin...Only problem is, Vince Carter's irrelevant in the playoffs, ala Mo Williams..I'm still a firm believer that Turk was better for this team than Vince Carter, but that's not important... I didn't watch much of Game 2, but Games 1 and 3 weren't even close.

    Believe still?

Guys...Quit having these lousy *ss attitudes..Yes, your team can still win...Boston is a terrible home team, and keep in mind, they took 2 or 3 games at the Q last round. They play better on the road.

    To all Magic fans...

Although nothing has been achieved just yet, I'd like to congratulate you guys on your trip to the ECF...It's a shame that the 2 best teams in the league(IMO) couldn't duke it out for a spot in the Finals. I will be pulling for Orlando to go all the way since my team won't be. Again, congrats and good luck the rest of the way.

Not really...I'm bummed that we lost, and that I didn't get to see a Cle/Orl ECF, but I said a while back, if they lose, it happens...It saddens me that I don't get to witness the most anticipated ECF since I can remember, but it happens. Orlando is a great team. I don't like them, but the majority of the people on this site, save a few, have been, at the very least, hospitable to me, and I felt it would be gratuitous to give credit where it is due.

Those guys love LeBron, as he is a great teammate. I can't see one of them disrespecting him that way, but who knows?? Maybe she's easy.

What is the reason for this change of perspective? Elimination three years straight or the fear of LeBron leaving causing havoc and panic? I'm not sure...But the way I look at it is, the team has improved talent-wise every year since their demolition in the Finals. Gilbert has spent a lot of money on the team, and Ferry did a good job getting the pieces to win a championship, but sometimes it just isn't enough. To me, what's going on right now is the same thing that has went on for years...Players win, coaches lose!...Someone's to blame, and they're not going to blame LeBron. You saw it with Woodson getting booted out of Atlanta. Although they will never contend with teams that play defense and have big men, their front office felt the need to get rid of a good coach. Mike Brown needs to get the boot, as does Mo Williams. See the problem is you guys assembled a bunch of talent but never really considered how those pieces fit together. Building around Lebron is fine but why trade for jamison if it pushes hickson to the bench? What was the point of signing powe? Why sign moon (a guy who excels in a fast paced running offense) if your plan is to slow the game down with Shaq? The best thing that we've done is stick to a basic gameplan of what we want to do and make minor tweaks to hide our weaknesses. I understand exactly what you're saying. That's where the rotations come in to play. I would love a lineup of Mo, West, Moon, Bron, and Hickson on the floor. I still don't understand why they couldn't just play the Celtics and give Shaq 15-20 a game, and let Hickson do work like he has all season. He's not a great player right now, but he thrives off LeBron attacking, and they execute the pick n roll to perfection. Shaq would have helped tremendously against the Magic, but Perkins is no Dwight Howard. He can't run the floor, he can't jump out of the building, there is no need for a 350 lb. man to guard him. I honestly think anyone could have coached this years team. Mike Brown is a great guy, and always take criticism well, but he just isn't cut out for a championship-driven organization. He'd be better suited for a lower level team.

With Jameer, he will absolutely KILL you if you do that, and if you try to take away his jumper, he will drive to the rim, collapse your defense, and either make the layup or kick out to one of several three point shooters (or toss a gimmee lob to Dwight). He has stepped up his game this post season to mirror his pre-injury all-star season and it has been a thing of beauty. I'm not sleeping on him being a lesser matchup. Facts are facts. Rondo makes that team go. Without Nelson, the Magic made it to the Finals. Rondo is a 10000000000000x better passer than Nelson, not to mention he's barely 6' tall...Again, not sleeping on him, as he is more than capable of putting up #'s...But Rondo scares me more than he does.

They are athletic and with teams not being able to prepare solely for them, they win a lot of games because of that. But in the end, basketball is a team sport and when ti comes down the a playoff series, their superficial ability to win games is negated. LOL..The Hawks have no Center. They're not built for anything. They are a solid team and would cause problems for any team without a true Center. The Cavs aren't built for the regular season. Their players are. Mo Williams is a no show every year in the playoffs, and if you take 16 points a game and 43% from 3 point land away from your lineup, to go along with terrible defense, your point spot is lackluster. It's not about how a team is built. The team isn't the problem. No coaching, no preparation, and no balls is the problem. I've said it on here many times before, and I'm even featured in someone's sig saying it..."Mike Brown is a terrible coach." And to whoever said LeBron needs a coach with a small ego, you're wrong. LeBron is quite possibly the most coachable player in the NBA. Analysts say it, teammates say it, former coaches say it. I don't know what his motive is, but if it's winning, I would bet money you could put him with any great HOF coach and there wouldn't be an issue. But again, Mo Williams has killed this teams chances in the playoffs. If they are somehow lucky enough to get by Boston, at least Jameer Nelson isn't as tough of a matchup, but I doubt that happens. Shaq has played fairly well, same for Jamison. LeBron's not played like LeBron, but with a team with the talent that Cleveland has, what he's doing should be enough. I haven't looked at the box score from last night, and I'm not going to, but I would imagine everyone off the bench played horrendous.

One of the few negatives about LeBron is the attention he gets for being so good. Stat wise, it wasn't even a "bad" game. He shot terribly, but still distributed the ball and did a few good things. It almost seems as though he's not trying. How can you come out in game 3, dominate every aspect, and then lay a goose egg in game 5 at home?? If I had to lay blaim on one player for this series being the problem and potential letdown that it is, it has to be Mo Williams. His inability to guard Rondo has forced Mike Brown to make several changes with the matchups, leading to other mismatches. I still don't see why Mo can't come out of the game for someone else. He's shot the ball terribly.

Dwight today or Shaq in his prime?

Between Dwight now and Shaq in his prime, you gotta take Shaq. The man broke a backboard, and on a completely different occasion, took down the basket. Physically, the most dominant player to ever play the game. Shaq managed to become an amazing post player, with quick feet and great hands. The Lakers in the early part of the decade were one of the best teams of all time, and he was the reason for it. I don't think Dwight will ever develop a low post game like Shaq, especially with the decreasing size of NBA centers. Teams keep getting smaller and smaller, and Dwight can do what he wants with them down low, with the exception of Perkins, Shaq, bigger players.

Obviously half the people on there, possibly more, have no intellect whatsoever. On a side note, this is how they always act after losses. When we got Shaq, and lost a couple straight, they panicked, same for Jamison. LeBron having an off night doesn't bother me. A lot of people forget that he rarely plays bad, and they have come to expect his best performance every game. He is human, just like the rest of the guys, and although they have the best team in that series, that means nothing. Boston wanted to play, and Cleveland didn't. Now, there's like a 10% chance that Cleveland wins the series.

Wrong...I remember hearing everyone talk about how the Cavs were yet to face adversity and if it could make a difference against the Magic...Some said it would, some said it wouldn't...Bottom line is, adversity makes teams play better, like it or not...I'm not saying teams need to lose, but hard fought games, come-from-behind victories, games where your bench needs to come through when your starters aren't, that's adversity... The Magic faced a lot of adversity against the Bobcats even though they swept. Dwight was always in foul trouble, and Charlotte fought hard every game, and most of them were close games.

It all depends on LeBron's elbow. Gripe and whine all you want about how much it gets talked about, but taking only 15 shots for the game, and a LARGE majority of them in the 4th quarter isn't what they need. He won't shoot jumpers the first 3 quarters of the game, and his defense is even starting to lack. Rondo is killing us as well...Sheed has sucked all year. I look at his performance as a fluke, but I may be wrong. KG, Pierce, and Allen are going to show up most of the time in the playoffs, but LBJ has to step up and quit whining about his elbow if he wants to get to the next round.

He knows if the Celtics win he'll have a legitimate excuse, and if the Cavs win the national media will praise his toughness, grit, and fight which powered his team through to the next round. Classic win-win. The only thing he has left to do is win a championship..There won't be any excuses. Back to back MVPs, the league's best record, and putting up #'s that only Jordan and Robertson put up before...Let him play it all he wants to, and let the media praise him for it. Fact of the matter is, the Cavs are expected to win, and when/if they do, there will be no praise, just concern about the next series. And for you to say that it's not hurting as bad as he makes it out to be...How do you know?? Am I saying it does?? Definitely not, but I am saying you don't know, and I don't know..Only he and the trainers know. Let it be. I think Cavs in 5, but if they lose, it happens.

No I think you missed the part on how Lebron can mug people on D without getting called for it too. I didn't miss anything...I see plays like that in every game that I watch, regardless of the team... I also think it's funny that every time Dwight gets a foul called on him, the refs and the NBA are conspiring against Orlando. I understand this is a Magic board, and you guys are Magic fans, but every foul on Howard isn't a bad call and every no-call on the Cavs isn't a bad call.
