Get your head out of your *** for once. Please. Do it for me.
H4TW bringing the heat...nice break down of the last play. I noticed that too when I watched the game. Turk was so desperate to get out of his shooting slump that he thought hitting a big shot would help. It didn't.

As far as the Jackson talk goes, I don't know what he has done to not be considered a good coach. He's been around the game, he's played the game at that level, and I may be one of the few on this board, but I enjoy his commentary much more than JVG. I just think he understands what it takes. Another big part of this is what type of staff is he going to surround himself with. That will also be key to this whole thing.
As far as the Ellis to 76ers talk. I'm like everyone else, I don't think it makes any sense for Philly unless GS throws in Biedrins as well. I judt don't see it. If it does happen, that is a nice young nucleus for GS (Curry, Iggy, Lee) probably not championship ready, but definitely a step in the right direction.
All we can do is hope that Otis is going misdirection again and comes out of no where, snatches up Iggy and leaves Philly sitting there sore and unsure of what just happened.

Frank, Adelman, Casey, JVG if he decided to coach. Not Jackson.
Respectfully disagree -
Frank the coach in New Jersey? Who had arguably the second big three in the common era, behind the Spurs, and couldn't win with Jefferson, Kidd, and VC all playing probably at the peak of their careers? Pass.
Adelman. Fired in Portland. Fired in Golden State. Teams elected not to renew his contract after he would give them good regular seasons and fail in the post season. Also old school coach who never had the best reputation of relating with players. Those types of coaches aren't successful anymore. So Yea, pass.
Casey. He seems like he could be a legit possibility. Successful in Dallas so far.
JVG is an idiot. Pass.
Off your list, I would probably put Casey over Jackson, but I still think Jackson is better than most other options.
-
No. Not in this universe.
Who else do you have in mind? Adleman? That seems to be a favorite of many posters on this forum.
-
LMAO.
I think Jackson will be a good coach. He knows his stuff. And probably is the best option out there.
Edit: Oh by the way, don't worry guys, I solved all of our problems

I'd love to get Smith here. I think his game fits with the Magic, but I honestly don't see anyway the Hawks trade with us. Unless they were getting some player from another team that they really wanted and we were giving a player to a 3rd team that they really wanted. But even then I'm doubtful.
I think since Dwight and Smith are such good friends, there wouldn't be any conduct issues. Dwight would keep him in line.
Acquiring Smith and Prince/Hayes/Buike are great beginning pieces to not only keeping Dwight but getting to where we would like to be. Even though I wouldn't be opposed to getting Boozer, Smith is younger and a better friend of Dwight. I think that would work out better in the long run.
Which player is probably more unrealistic to get in a Magic uni? Josh Smith or Iggy? Because I think if we can't get Iggy, trading for Smith, then signing Prince at the 3 and Mayo at the 2, would work just as well.

Not only what was said by Jec and everyone else, but there is not much to compare him to. He barely played at Kentucky the one season he was there, and then he injured himself. He gets drafted and then injures himself again after playing like crap in summer league. Right now he seems more likely to have an injury prone career than a career as a solid backup. I do think everyone is hoping for the best with him though, we need him to step up enough to atleast become trade bait.
He didn't get injured at Kentucky, he got injured toward the beginning of his senior year of High School (just to clarify that the injury wasn't as close as people might think).
The reason he didn't play much at KY wasn't because of lack of talent, it was just because there was better talent available (Patrick Patterson and Demarcus Cousins). But when he came in, he was a good rebounder and an excellent shot blocker. Struggled with switching on PNR and helpside D, but those hopefully he'll learn while he's with the Magic.
He could be a valuable asset especially if the Magic can't get any via free agency or trade. Can't rely on him for a lot of points, but as long as that knee is healthy, he is decent on the rebounding end.

I wanted to step on the pitch myself. It was only a friendly but for the sake of national pride, I thought we should have tried a little harder to avoid a shutout. We have the Gold Cup coming up to prepare for, but this performance made me sick.
Yea, I'm with you on this one. That was pretty disgusting. I understand not wanting to play players, rest em up, etc. But that was just pathetic.
Our defense was basically letting them walk all over the box and if they had even a half a yard opening, Howard was in trouble. They really showed that USA just really isn't even close to Spain and probably never will be. But after beating them a while back, then having some solid shows during the WC, I thought we would put up a better effort.

Anyone watching the USA v SPAIN???? Now on ESPN

PG: R.Felton/Duhon
SG: Arenas/JJ.Redick/Q.Rich
SF: W.Chandler/Hedo/E.Clark
PF: Fran/Ryno/E.Clark
C: Dwight/T.Murphy(Or Dwight/G.Davis)
Assuming Jameer,Bass,J.rich(S&T) will be traded
Glen Davis is not a Center and Arenas wouldn't be our starting sg. But, I wouldn't mind getting Chandler in here.

Monta doesn't really know how to play basketball but hell, Derrick Rose doesn't either and he's the MVP. I'd take him if we were able to hide him on defense by getting an Eric Snow equivalent somewhere.
Your posts literally make me want to jump off a bridge without a parachute.

I'd take Boozer
Boozer, Batum, Smith
Sign a big, Sign Hayes, Sign Buike, Draft Point.
Stew.

Lol, dude, it's great that you're becoming a fan of "futbol" but Donovan scored against Algeria, not Angola. I'm part angolan so I found it funny :D
Don't judge me. Haha it was like 4 am when I wrote that.

I think we should trade for Brewer, Speights and David Lee.
I'd be totally for that because I look at the talent instead of the former college. All of those players could fill a need that the Magic have. But Lee isn't going anywhere and I doubt Speights is either, unless we have him thrown in with an Iggy trade.

So i'm a troll because i'm making fun of the fact that all you talk about is trying to get as many Kentucky players on this team as possible. Really? And Cal isn't too far fetched actually. If you think that program is clean you need to get your head checked. I wouldn't be suprised if Calipari fled to the NBA.
No, you're a troll because you brought up all this KY stuff for no reason. Jareth was the first one to start making the claim that we should go after Chuck Hayes not me. Soul Bro just mentioned replacing CLee with Patrick Patterson, not me. BMP was the first one to say that we should go after Kelenna Azubuike, not me. I've never said we should go after Cousins or Wall. I did mention that if we did draft up into lottery range, then we should consider Brandon Knight because this kid is a solid PG. But you go ahead and bash just because a KY fan mentions a KY player. I guess that gives me the right to bash anytime someone mentions Speights or Noah or Brewer right?
Go troll somewhere else.

I'm really enjoying watching some of the Euro games on ESPN now a days.
I'm a recent futbol fan (my universities college team calls it that, so I've gotten used to calling it that).
Anyways, started enjoying watching the USA team play while it was qualifying for the World Cup in 2010. Then watched Green Street Hooligans (probably not the best soccer movie, but I love it none the less). Then saw Donavon's extra time goal against Angola in the WC and I was absolutely sold.
Now I'm watching MLS, even though their all-stars got royally spanked against Man U, I think.
But we have the beginning stages of qualifying for the 2014 WC starting in like a week. This upcoming Sunday, USA vs Canada. I cannot wait.

Shaq would be in Dwight's ear all year long convincing him to leave.
exactly

Okay... I've made up my decision. Should Otis stay and Dwight leave... I will be done with the Magic Organisation... seriously. I'm a die-hard Magic fan since 1992 and can't take it anymore... We lost in the Finals in 95, lost in the Finals in 09. We lost Shaq, we can loose Dwight... the Heat will get their 2nd title in a couple of weeks... and we got what? GA, Steve "The Franchise" Francis... J-Rich... Grant Hill...
Great Post!!!!! Will read again!!!!

Its exciting to hear these statements from Dwight.
I know he's been saying stuff like this, but it seems like its a bit stronger wordage, which brings comfort to the Magic fan.
-
And then we could trade for John Wall and Demarcus Cousins. And Eric Bledsoe. And don't forget Jodie Meeks. And then trade for the #3 pick and take Brandon Knight
Oh, I hadn't thought about that....then maybe we could fire SVG, hire Calipari then change our name to the Orlando Wildcats...

Didn't see it in the offseason thread until now. But, this is the most positive and encouraging statements we've heard from D12 and his manager. So, it's probably big enough news for its own thread.
OTIS-- get the man the help he needs!
I agree it probably does need its own thread. That post will probably get lost in the craziness of that other thread in a couple of hours.
I think Otis will do his best, but ultimately I think the Magic will be interviewing for a new GM soon.
-
This was also posted in the offseason thread.
But, thats good news for Magic fans. I say now that Dwight has sort of told the Magic organization what he wants. They give Otis this offseason to get Dwight happy, if it doesnt happen. Give him his slip and send him on his way. That will give a new GM a year to try and figure something out.

If ownership doesn't care about money, this isn't a bad way to re-secure MagLeeto, who is a solid, young asset. Meanwhile, Miller is terrible at this point in his career. Still he's better than M. Allen or Bass at center.
EDIT: Substituting Patterson for Lee would be fine by me, too.
How about substituting Patterson for Miller?
CLee/Patterson/Hayes for whatever combination we need to make it work
Scotty Hopson.... 6'7 SG Draft Prospect

I'm surprised Jareth hasn't posted on this yet. He had like a Hopson loving rant a couple of weeks back.
Hopson is a decent player, don't think he'll turn into much, but he could address a need that the Magic have now, so sure why not.
