  1. This was also posted in the offseason thread. But, thats good news for Magic fans. I say now that Dwight has sort of told the Magic organization what he wants. They give Otis this offseason to get Dwight happy, if it doesnt happen. Give him his slip and send him on his way. That will give a new GM a year to try and figure something out.

If you could form a realistic team around Dwight

How about substituting Patterson for Miller? CLee/Patterson/Hayes for whatever combination we need to make it work

Just finished watching the Hangover 2. It sucked. No where near as funny as the first. Basically a remake of the first movie. There were a couple of lines that were funny, but all around it was sort of dull. I'm disappointed, but not really surprised.

Could be the end for a lot of guys

Did KKC just say Jareth was the only one on this board that made sense? Is the world really coming to an end?

Barkley seems like an idiot, but the guy knows his basketball. He knows what would work and what wouldn't. I honestly think that he would make a decent GM and a better one than Otis. He understands the game and if he needs to he can surround himself with a staff that compliments his flaws. I just think a basketball guy running a basketball team makes sense, but maybe I'm missing something Since McHale is off the list, I'd just slid everyone up one position. Still have Kerr as number one and Barkley number two.

    Mike Brown new Lakers Coach

Cavs made it to the Finals under Mike Brown in 2006-2007 and were swept by the Spurs I think that Mike Brown is a better coach than people give him credit for. I thought he always took a back seat to Lebron and how nuts everyone was for him. I think he'll do good in L.A. but the toughest thing is for him to get all the players on the same page and to make sure they realize he isn't trying to replace Phil or be better than Phil, just move to another chapter in Laker history. Other than that, I expect the Lakers to be back next season and have another team that can make a deep run in the playoffs And I honestly don't get several people on this board being Adleman homers. He was an underachieving coach in Sacramento and in Houston. He isn't a good coach. He won't win you a championship.

At first I thought I would make this into a new thread, but I figured I'd throw this question on this thing and see if it sparks convo a little bit. Lets say that Dwight resigns with the Magic and we get Batum and Smith but not Boozer. Decent pieces but still not where the Magic want to be. Then lets say that the Magic fire Otis. Who is the best replacement GM available for the Magic? Honestly, listening to some of these guys, I really think they would make excellent GM's and definitely be a major upgrade over Otis. 1) Steve Kerr 2) Kevin McHale 3) Charles Barkely - I know he seems like a goof, but watching him do college basketball analysis and listening to him a lot more this year, he knows his stuff. 4) Mark Jackson - I think he'd rather be a coach than a GM, but it could work 5) Reggie Miller - I think he'll probably just keep doing commentating, but he could do well too I think Who do you think would be an upgrade over Otis?

I think the Hangover is going to be awesome. I'm looking forward to it. I just saw Fast Five on Saturday and it was freaking amazing. Probably the best of the 5 movies and it looked like there could be a 6th. Currently watching Romeo and Juliet (the DiCaprio version) and I'm about to throw up, this movie is so bad....

See I think if we hadn't made any moves and kept the team we started the year with, we would be in a better position now than we currently are. We were still probably a first round team, but at least we had tradable pieces. Now we don't have anything and things look bleak. I'd almost would have preferred to see us stand pat and see what would have developed during the summer. My guess is that we probably could have made the trades we made at the mid-way point, during the summer months. I'd give Otis an F. He needs to get out of here. Time for a new direction in management.

Could be the end for a lot of guys

Even though I understand that the point is to get the offense flowing and if that calls for the point to make some plays, then so be it. But when you have the 2 time scoring champ on your team, he HAS to get more shots than you and it is your job to run the offense correctly in order to make that happen. I feel like Westbook has a little bit of an ego to him and ultimately that relationship will fail because this will continue to be an issue next season. And to throw my two sense in the Duhon/Vasquez argument - I'd take Vasquez as a back up only if we still have Jameer. If it was just Gil, then I wouldn't trust Gil's knees, if they go, then Vasquez is no where ready to run a team. I wouldn't mind having him and letting him learn for another year or two before getting legitimate playing time, like JJ did.

Could be the end for a lot of guys

That might be one of the greatest things I've read in this entire thread. If you add Batum as well, thats seriously a legit team again. And if all of this happens, what does our team/depth look like?

It's the End of the World as we Know it

Apparently the world is going to end tomorrow at 6pm -- this is according to some lunatic religious man in California. So just for fun, since this is the slowest offseason ever, if the world does actually end tomorrow at that time, what would you want to get done between now and then?

If Magic trade Dwight Howard, Chicago Bulls ideal destination

You're wasting time by posting unrealistic, Idiotic, fantasy basketball trade ideas. Even if we think it would work, it doesn't result in anything. Please stop.

It's the End of the World as we Know it

This wasn't supposed to turn into a religious debate. It was just supposed to be a fun thing to think about, if the world did end tomorrow what would you want to do? And lets chill with the stereotypes being thrown around. Just cause you don't believe it or whatever don't trash the people who do or what they believe. Let's show a little respect.

Could be the end for a lot of guys

I wasn't even saying Liggins needs to be drafted. I was just saying, he's a solid defender. A solid college defender is still better than some of the NBA players making millions. I think Liggins could find a role on a team because he is long and athletic. He's got a decent shot but needs work on the all around defensive end of the ball. I think Liggins is a lot like Q. Put in for defense but can hit the occasional shot. I know that I'm biased for KY guys, but I also know basketball, I know when guys aren't ready. Liggins can make it as a role guy who gets limited minutes. Thats about it. Orton on the other hand, was a waste of a pick. He wasn't ready for the NBA after one season. He needed about 3 more seasons at KY. He's got huge upside, but at that time, Orlando shouldn't have picked him.

    The Official MMA Thread

I just wrote some number down haha...I guess I was thinking that he held on for the last 2 minutes of the first round. Then the one minute break, then the first minute or two of the second. I just don't think he was in it, shouldve been called, but i guess we'll agree to disagree

    2 down, 1 to go

Yea, thats complete crap. Jones is the man. He's lengthy, athletic, and incredibly accurate. Also has a very good killer sense. He's like a younger version of Anderson Silva, without the flashy knockouts, and just insert dominant wins. Every person put in front of him he's destroyed. Don't be bitter just because he knocked you boy out. Give him props. He deserves it.

Are the Thunder a good trade partner

Personally, I was thinking about this today.... IF, IF, IF - Dwight comes to the all star break and says I'm just letting you all know I'm not going to sign - trade me. I would think the Thunder would be the best landing spot for the Magic. I honestly think we could get some good talent in return, as well as draft picks. If there was any way to get multiple first rounders, then have a bad season without Dwight and end up with 2 lottery picks (like the Cavs this year with 1 + 4) that could seriously help out.... BUT none of this is going to happen because we ALL know we're getting Paul, Mayo, Prince, Okafor, and resigning Dwight. We're goin to the ship...
