    Game Thread: Celtics @ Magic 01/28 8PM

There is no "D" in "JAMEER" Please watch Jameer on the defensive end of the court. You will rarely see him within 4 feet of a player on the opposing team. He stands around under the basket, gets an occasional steal, and an occasional rebound, but almost never defends anyone. If you get a chance look at the height difference when he stands next to J-will during the National Anthem. He is definitely 3-4 inches shorter. J-will is 6-1. Therein lies the problem. Jameer plays the best defense he is capable of playing. When he attempts to defend a player, rarely does any player in the NBA have any difficulty shooting over him. In addition to being too short, he is too slow. Defense wins championships, and there is no "D" in Jameer. The next time you watch a Magic game, watch Jameer closely on the defensive end. You won't believe your eyes. At one point in the first quarter, the Jameer had scored 10 of the Magic's 14 points. Some fans would have thought he was having a great game. However, he was playing zero defense, and the Magic were down 26 to 14. There is a clear reason while the Magic are out played when Jameer is in the game, and hwy they are almost invincible with J-will or even Anthony Johnson.
  2. This only my opinion, but, We would have not gotten out of the first round. The first half of last year was the first time Jameer was the best playing PG on the Magic team. I attribute this to the fact that nobody in the NBA believed the Magic were for real. They were flying under the radar. Jameer was shooting wide open shots. Nobody was defending him, and he wasn't defending anyone either. Fortunately, the shots were following, unlike the bricks he put up in the previous post season games we suffered through with Jameer as point. It is no coincidence that the Magic have lost 7 of 9 games since Jameer returned from his injury this year. The two game we won were won in the 4th quarter by J-will while Jameer watched from the bench. I am certain that we would have beat LA had Jameer not returned for the NBA Finals last year. We will never know, and we will never get back there with Jameer in the rotation. In previous years the consensus was that the Magic were a point guard away from an NBA title. That has never been more true than it is today. Almost every guard in the league can shoot over Jameer, so he is no help on the defensive end. Even if the other teams stop defending him again. He slows the game down too much, and he is a deficit on the defensive end of the court. Defense wins championships. I don't blame Jameer. He is paid to play. SVG is to blame for putting him in and allowing him to play stall ball. I guess he is afraid Dwight will fire him if he doesn't play Dwight's best friend. Unfortunately, he will be fired anyway if he keeps playing Jameer, and the Magic don't start winning. If DH doesn't want SVG to critique the team, then he needs to step up. Like I said, this is just my opinion, and everybody has one. I hope I am wrong.
  3. It is no coincidence that the Magic started playing poorly when Jameer started playing. Jameer was not part of the team that won the Eastern Conference, and made it to the NBA Finals. It is unfair of SVG to complain about the Magic not playing defense - Jammeer is 5-10 and almost every player in the league can shoot over him. It is unfair for SVG to complain that the Magic are not moving the ball. Jammer is playing stall-ball. He walks the ball up court, stops at the point, and then calls his own number or passes the ball with little time to do anything but shoot. At the same time the opposing team bigs have had time to position themselves to foul DH (mug DH). You have to blame SVG for continuing to play him. It has to be confusing for all the players. SVG says defend, but he leaves the team a man short on the defensive end. He says run and move the ball, yet he leaves the co-captain in the game (the quarterback) who does anything but run and move the ball. AJ was part of the team that got us to the NBA finals, and SVG keeps him on the bench. There is no floor captain who will demand the effort on the floor needed to win. Jameer is the co-captain, and losing the appear to phase him. MJ would not accept poor play from his teammates, neither will Lebron or Kobe. Until a player steps up as flour leader, we need psycho Stan back. Rashard has been inconsistent at best since before last year's all star game. Ryan Anderson has played better and more consistently this year. Rashard needs to work his way back into the starting line-up. RA needs to be starting. Jameer should play behind J-will and AJ. SVG needs to find a leader, hopefully DH, and we need one team captain. DH needs to be the leader, and not accept anything but the best from his team mates. SVG needs to start playing the players who show up to play, and stop playing the ones who are paid the most for 38+ minutes. I know what they say about opinions. Everyone has one. I am not an NBA coach. I can not fix my TV either, but I know when it is working.

  5. The Magic do not have 5 new players from the team that made it to the finals. They have 6. Jameer Nelson played no part in the Magic reaching the NBA Finals. I believe he is the reason they did not win the NBA Finals. His stall-ball style of play does not fit in with the team that made it to the finals. Dwight can run up and down the court faster than any of the bigs assigned to foul him. SVG wants the Magic to move the ball and run the court. Jameer is openly defying him. We need the nice SVG to go home. Look at the results the nice SVG has gotten. Sit Jameer down, Start J-will, and let AJ backup J-will. Rashard has not played well since before last years all-star game, but he did hit some key shots in the playoffs. Ryan Anderson is laying better than Rashard ever has since arriving to Orlando. Ryan occasionally has an off game. Rashard usually has an off game. Three things need to happen before the Magic again become an elite team. Psycho SVG needs to return. Jameer needs to be benched and play behind J-will and AJ. Ryan Anderson needs to start in place of Rashard. Hopefully, Rashard will be able to work his way back into the lineup as power forward. With J-will, VC, RA, Rashard (If he can get his game back) and DH, the Magic are a better team that the team that made it to the NBA finals last year. With Jameer, and any line-up, the Magic will find it difficult to win the East.
