Even Harder being a Magic fan for me!!
The Magic Word replied to @Burrows316's topic in Orlando Magic Forum
I'm impressed with your commitment to the team, because so many people are giving up hope. http://www.itsthemagicword.com/the-angry-fan-in-orlando/ People tend to come up with any excuse to abandon their team during tough times and then come back like they were never off the bandwagon. Cheers to you and the rest of the fans still trollin' the internet everyday to connect with the handful of us that are still left! -
When I first saw the trade, I was a little taken aback. After reading all of the ins and outs (http://www.itsthemagicword.com/a-full-guide-to-the-orlando-magic-following-the-j-j-redick-trade/), I feel pretty good about it. I still don't understand the Warrick/McBob trade. I don't really see what that accomplishes in the short term or long term. The rest makes sense, if there was nothing better on the table.

If you were Rob Hennigan, how would you rebuild?
The Magic Word posted a topic in Orlando Magic Forum
Obviously using those 13 draft picks over the next 5 years is going to happen. Where would you spend your money while using those draft picks? Would you save for the huge FA class in 2015? Instead, would you pick up a player this summer to build around and then save money to bring in someone else the following summer? Just curious what the die-hard fans have to say on the mater. Discuss. -
Game Thread: Indiana Pacers @ Orlando Magic ***Home Game @ 7:00pm EST*** - Get back to winning ways
The Magic Word replied to barnettej's topic in Orlando Magic Forum
Roy Hibbert could easily notch that many blocks against us...it'd pair well with his 40 FG% for 9 points and 8 rebounds. Hibbert has seriously regressed this season offensively, but is still a very good defensive player. He needs to uncure himself of the Disease of Me that he must've had during his contract year last season, because they really need him to be more dominant down-low on offense. Side note: Indiana Pacers are the best defensive team in the league so far this season, but they are soooo boring to watch! -

Smart man. I'm hot on McLemore, as well. He's got all the makings of a very good NBA player with a game that should translate pretty quickly. Fortunately, I think he is a realistic pick for where we're likely to pick, too. -
Is D12 the most overrated player in Magic's history?
The Magic Word replied to UEBERMORTAL's topic in Orlando Magic Forum
I resent Dwight and therefore root against him and LA. However, he was not overrated when he was here. He was the key piece that led us to the level of success that we found during his tenure here. The most overrated player in Magic history is Rashard Lewis. Of course, he was only overrated because Otis Smith paid him far more than he was worth. -
Projecting the Magic's Record at Season's End

So, assuming they get a pick somewhere between 4-7, who do you think they should draft? -
Projecting the Magic's Record at Season's End

Good info. There are a few solid players at the top of next year's draft, aside from Shabazz Muhammad. Maybe they won't be stars, but they'll be contributors. -
Projecting the Magic's Record at Season's End

27 is the exact number I was thinking. -
With last night's loss, the Magic have tied their longest losing streak (8 games) since 2006. The skid has been tough to watch, because they have lost so many of these games in the 4th quarter. I'm just curious what you other Magic superfans think the record will be at the end of the season?

2012 Orlando Magic Regular Season Thread

Jameer has never had incredible court vision, but it also didn't help that a big part of the offense for a chunk of his career was giving the ball to Dwight to back people down. Can't tally a lot of assists sitting on the perimeter watching your center play back-to-basket for 5-8 seconds every play. -
Jameer Nelson - Leadership
The Magic Word replied to Beast From The East's topic in Orlando Magic Forum
I definitely think that veteran leadership is important. The New York Knicks looked silly when they went out and picked up all these old farts this summer. However, it has led to an unprecedented style of unselfish play, particularly among players that are known for being selfish (J.R. Smith and Melo). I think Jameer does a good job of leading for the team, but I don't know if he always plays with the kind of energy and determination that can inspire teammates. -
To add to this conversation, AA has never been tagged as a playmaker. He is a scorer and man-on defender. He has done exactly what he was brought here to do, neither exceeding or falling short of general expectations.

Hopefully, he gets back on the court and shows why he has been a successful contributor for his entire career. He has no place on our roster, other than to be a trade chip...but I don't know what people would be willing to deal without him showing how he has recovered from his injury. -
