  1. Ridnour to be a Magic man. Can't see Gordon starting. I expect Payton to start at PG before the end of the season, but not likely game 1. Pulling for Marble, but the roster is real tight, so maybe D-league. With so many roster changes, gonna take a while to jell...
  2. As of now, by my count, we have 11 players OFFICIALLY under contract. Oladipo Payton Fournier Green Harkless Gordon Harris Nicholson O'Quinn Vucevic Dedmon Marble looks like a keeper too, probably will get a contract soon. Add the "unofficial" vet duo of Ben Gordon & Channing Frye, and that's 14. We may yet offer Nicholson as trade bait, either for a vet b/u PG or future pick.

    Magic sign Channing Frye

This should be a better signing than Gordon was. He's at least been productive the last couple years...

Welcome Ben Gordon- Magic Sign Ben Gordon for 2 years $9M

Good article. Interesting that several on the Magic brass worked with Gordon in Detroit and Chicago. I followed the Bobcats last season (Al Jefferson fan), and am real curious WHY he rarely even got off the bench. Clifford's a good coach. Maybe he just didn't like being traded to Charlotte. Maybe there was a personality clash; dunno. Given they were bad shooting jumpers, it is puzzling they didn't get Gordon in games a lot more. Anyway, hopefully he'll be productive for the Magic.

    Summer League Thread

Marble was just as described when we drafted him; good at everything, but not great at any one thing. In 17 minutes, 2-3 on threes, 3-4 on twos, 1-2 on FT's for 13 points. 5 rebounds and 3 steals, 2 assists.

Welcome Ben Gordon- Magic Sign Ben Gordon for 2 years $9M

Wow; Charlotte needed a shooter last season, had a great low-post game with Al Jefferson, yet Gordon barely got off their bench all year. Well, he's at least got fresh legs, but I'm doubtful anything has changed...

Leader, leader !! Anybody got a leader !!!

Sentinel is mentioning Willie Green. Only reason he was let go after 3 years in Clipper Nation was salary. They apparently need that $1.4 mil for something else. We save $4.6 mil by swapping Nelson out now for Green. I suspect we knew we were gonna be awarded Green before Nelson was let go... Green actually has played in more NBA games than Jameer and is known as a great locker room guy. With that said, I'm sure the young guys already here are being encouraged to step up too.

ORLANDO MAGIC at Toronto Raptors, Dec 21 !! 7 PM

What I'm seein' so far this season is when the Magic offense MOVES and passes, we can beat ANYBODY. When they stand for 10-15 seconds just dribbling the ball, they can LOSE to anybody... We outrebounded them by 13 boards and outshot them by 10%, and still lost. TO's by Jameer and Arron while trying to force plays that wern't there killed us ...

5 months after the trades... how do you feel about the team

Love the 2012 stat line; were the 2011 Magic near that good?? We have done remarkably well for a team that supposed got 'fleeced'. It looks to me like our new GM did the fleecing; Howard hasn't really helped the Lakers win, although if they all get healthy they'll likely be a force by playoff time. The 76ers gave up way more than they should have to get a guy with bad knees. And I'm not sold on Iguadala being worth Afflalo and the #1 we got from Denver...

Official Game Thread: Magic Vs. Timberwolves

OUTSTANDING game. Refs were bad on a few plays, but we overcame! Great TEAM win for sure. SO much better basketball being played under Jacques Vaughn w/o Dwight Howard, who I'd grown weary of 2-3 years ago.... HUGE improvement!

    WHERE IS Al Harrington??

Gotta agree. I like this kid Nicholson; would rather see him get the PT. Maybe we can trade Harrington to a playoff-caliber team once he's healthy.
