    The Dwight Howard Drama Unfolds

Lakers would have to send out more salary. Definitely Eyenga is going, probably Blake and probably McRoberts.

Harrington is the report but he is awful. None of these teams have very good 4s to offer though.

They've got a $13M TPE also. Reports are saying that it is an important part of this deal.

He's more valuable than Gasol. Easy flip to Denver for Affalo, TPE, picks. Turner is a really nice pick.

Cut Denver? Bynum to Philly Iggy/Turner to Orlando Howard/JRich/whatever else to LA?

There's really no way Orlando wants Gasol. Affalo is ok I guess, but then you're still trying to trade Gasol and in a similar position with a worse asset. You didn't just give Jameer all that money to ride the bench or give up Howard for a back-up PG. For LA, I don't see them giving up Gasol/Bynum, especially with Kobe's comments and the fit that Gasol has with Nash. Denver makes out like bandits if they give up Affalo and Harrington(who's no more than a glorified bench scrub) for Iggy. Sixers make out like bandits also, giving up Iggy for Bynum.

This deal does not make much sense. I don't think it gets done.

I don't understand why people are ok with Dwight just walking at the end of the year. All that happens with that is delaying the rebuilding process a year. If he stays for a year, you maybe make the play-offs, maybe not, but they're probably not in the lottery. The when he walks, yes you lose the $20MM or so that is on his contract, but you still have about $40MM committed to only 8 players depending on Jameer's deal(Hedo, Jameer, JRich, Ayon, BBD, QRich, Duhon, Nicholson). If Redick comes back(he makes $6MM this year) and with the cap holds, you're looking at close to $50MM committed. No big free agent catch, not that they will be too interested anyways, no high draft pick, and that team still is good enough to not be one of the worst 5 teams in the NBA. Look back at Cleveland post-LeBron. They lost Shaq, Big Z, Telfair, and West along with LeBron. Varejao and Davis both got hurt which allowed them to finish with the 2nd worst record in the NBA. Even after 2 seasons of being right around 20 wins, they're still not a play-off team and they are not really relevant. Had they been able to get some picks and get some players, and in Orlando's case, get some cap relief, that rebuild process would go much quicker and leave you with a better team. I wouldn't be a fan of Bynum coming, unless you plan to flipped him at the deadline for more picks/cap relief, because you're pretty much in the same situation. Yeah you get rid of JRich or Hedo(maybe both), but you're still not terrible and I don't think the assets are there. Houston clearly presents the best offer, but I don't see them pulling the trigger on Dwight and being left in the same situation that the Magic would be left in if he left for Dallas after the season. They'd have no assets, no picks, and meaningless cap space. I think it would have to be a 3 team deal with Bynum going to Houston. For Cleveland, getting TT or Waiters and maybe Zeller, plus picks and Varejao(who could be flipped to a contender at the deadline for more assets), does work. It's not perfect, but it's realistic considering the other options. Keeping Dwight though makes little sense. Edit: Also, Cleveland was competing for a title. They went to the ECF that year. I don't think Orlando as currently constructed is a title contender.
