This is hands the the BEST thing anyone has posted on here in weeks. As I was reading it, I felt like I was the one typing it. So spot on. I know some still wanna defend our coach, and make this and that excuse, but take the record out of it and just look at the way we play with our personnel and I think it proves what a train wreck of a coach JV is. I honestly don't know how someone could sit next to Pop for multiple years and learn so little.

I'll agree with learning from mistakes as far as the players go, but not the coaching. I'm sorry but JV turned that into a **** show the last few minutes. We ran no offense. It was helter skelter, Charles Manson would have enjoyed watching that meltdown. At some point it has to become about winning, not about learning from mistakes. We should have learned enough by now, at the very least our HEAD COACH should learn something. WILLIE GREEN FTW

Are we better without Victor Oladipo?

I agree with most the previous posts. We aren't better without Victor, not even close. We are, however, better with Payton playing point and Victor playing the 2. He is not a PG. He's obvioulsy more than capable at brining the ball up the court throughout the game but Payton is the PG on this team. So in short, I blame Vaughn, not Victor.

I had the misery of being at that game. Vaughn is beyond the worse coach in the NBA. I've never seen such a lack of coaching down the stretch in a game my entire life. For some reason, the last 3-4 minutes of the fourth quarter JV had the brilliant idea to turn it into a street ball game. Nothing but ISO's at the top of the key with Dipo and Payton. Harris never touched the ball except for his one bad charge turnover. Why we went to a 1 on 1 street ball offense is beyond me. His rotations sucked as well but it's like beating a dead horse stating that on here anymore. Fournier doesn't play in the 4th and Willie Green plays almost the whole time. And, are you kidding me with not having Harris take the last shot? This is not Oladipo's team, at least not yet. And I hate to burst some peoples bubble but that's the truth. For now, Harris needs to take that last second shot 10 out of 10 times.

So much eaiser said than done. I would consider it a win if we don't get humiliated like we have been last couple games. If you honestly feel like were going to win tonight you should go to topbet.com right now and bet on the magic. 100$ bet will make you over 400$. Oh wait, no one would ever bet on the magic tonight even if you did say it.

Exactly! It needs to happen sooner than later. What's the point in delaying? Let Vic get used to going back to his natural and let the two of them get used to playing together. I see absolutely nothing we are gaining from starting Dipo at the point. And I'm not just saying that because he has been playing bad. I'm saying it because it's counter productive.

I was at the game, not like it makes any difference but I like to think I had a front row seat to see how horrid our team defense was. I have never seen a team look so confused from the high pick and roll. Both of our guys would constantly either go under the screen, or follow the guy with the ball, leaving Bosh wide open. It was hard to watch. The communication was poor but that's something that I would hope gets better as these guys continue to play together. Oh and my only other comment would be, PAYTON SHOULD START.

I'm to lazy to read through all the posts, but are we actually debating who the better pg is, Vic or Payton?? It should be clear to anyone with half a brain and any bit of basketball knowledge to know that Payton is leaps and bounds a better current PG and PG prospect than Dipo is or will ever be. Though, to me, that should go without saying. Victor is a 2. I think he can be a damn good 2 starting next to Payton. We would not have drafted Payton had we thought Victor was the PG for this team going forward. I get more and more confused each game that Vic starts at PG. Our ball movement on offense is not near as good. It's like players stand around waiting to see what Dipo is gonna do when he is running the offense. When Payton is playing, it's, "let me move around a lot cause if I'm open he's gonna find me and get me the ball". The other reason I am virtually dumbfounded when Victor starts at PG is the fact that it's slowing his development at learning the SG position. He's spent a year running the point. It's time for him to settle in playing shooting guard and learning to play with Payton, assuming those 2 are our backcourt of the future.

GAME THREAD: Orlando Magic at Charlotte Hornets

He did not suck for 2 weeks in any way. He had ups and downs but he was setting us up nicely on offense and I felt the team was developing nice chemistry with him running the point. When Dipo came back, that all went to the crapper. In no way shape or form should Vaughn have had Dipo starting at the point. If Vaughn felt Payton really needed to come off the bench than start Ridenour. Dipo is a 2 guard. Not a point guard. Can we please stop with that failed experiment? Sure he's capable of brining the ball up the point and making some nice passes but theres more to that than being a good PG and Payton possesses those qualities. I think to many Magic fans are to head over heals for Victor. It's like he can do no wrong. When he shoots 3-12 no one cares or says anything. When he's passing the ball out of bounds no one cares. But if it's Payton? Better bench him. As for who goes to the bench, I see Dipo being best fit as the 6th man with how guys are currently playing. As the season progresses I could see Fournier being a really good 6th man but our team needs him from the start of games until Dipo gets his rhythm back.

GAME THREAD: Orlando Magic at Charlotte Hornets

Why can't our coach tell that Payton should have been playing more all a long? It's no shocker Dipo absolutley cannot play the point near as well as Payton can. Our ball flow and chemistry on offense was off ever since DIpo took over. He is a 2 guard. Payton is the PG. Play our PG more please and thanks. Oh wait Vaughn will start Dipo at Point tomorrow night regardless.

    Aaron Gordon out indefinitely

I agree from a wins/loss perspective it does not have a huge impact but, for me, it's just frustrating that he will miss half the year. That's just wasted development time and I personally thought he was getting better almost every game in terms of looking more and more comfortable. It could always be worse but this still sucks.

I'm really hoping Dipo does not start at PG unless we have injuries and have no other options. I absolutely do not like him at PG and his future on this team is at the 2. Payton needs to start at point in my meaningless opinion. Dipo needs to get used to playing off the ball. Do I think Oladipo should run point in certain situations during the game? Of course. He's very capable I just don't see him best suited there especially considering we used a top 10 pick on as pure of a PG I've ever seen. Let Payton play. Once Payton and Dipo get used to playing with one another I think they could be really dynamic and cause teams constant headaches on defense. I am no on board with how much the kids minutes have already been cut this year.

Has this really become a Ridenour Vs Payton thread? Come on fellas. Luke gives good minutes in a reserve roll and brings a little more offensive than Payton. But to assert that Luke should play more than Payton or that Payton playing against good players is gonna hinder is development is a laughable claim. I was unaware that we used a first round pick on Rindeour in the draft this year and I also keep forgetting he's the future of our team.

Good point. I could see something like that having triggered his response. I would like to have seen JV have that response not Channing Frye, but that would never happen.

GAMETHREAD: Orlando Magic @ Toronto Raptors

I don't get how any fan with any type of basketball knowledge at all can stand up for Luke. I have no issue with him starting the fourth and playing 5-7 minutes he was having a solid game and has been playing well of late. But it was absolutely painful to watch how badly Lowry was abusing him on the other end of the court. If he wanted to go left, he went left. If he wanted to go right, he went right. It was an absolute beating he dished out to Luke. Payton would have at the very least made it harder on Lowry. And, again, it's not like Luke did anything at all on offense in the fourth to warrant keeping him in the game. To many soft fans around the team that are content with just looking "better", and showing "improvement". I can see why the majority of you are fine with JV as the head coach because he loves mediocrity. I guess I share the mentality of Channing Frye. "Were close to winning, but that's still Fuc**** losing". -Channing Frye

He was 3-7 0-2 from deep and didn't score in the fourth. So not sure how your spreading the floor theory holds up. And "protect our young guy from arguably the best guard in the NBA"? Really? :panicworker: :panicworker: :panicworker:

Why does everyone have to have a nickname? I will call him Payton. I'm lame. But he doesn't come across to me as a guy who cares or even wants a nickname. Not really the attention seeking type like Nick Young. Nicknames are best when they come naturally based off of a players game. "3D". Prime example. As for the above, I like just Easy or EP. Easy P is beyond tacky.

    The Brooklyn Thread

Harris is not doing himself any favors with his poor shooting. That guys mid-range shot gets worse and worse every game. He only scores under the basket or when he is driving. He is lost with the ball in his hands and his passing is suspect at best. Really hope he can turn it around and become a more consistent scorer for us this year cause we need him to be better.
