    Magic @ Rockets - Sunday, January 27 @ 7 pm

We would be the 14th seed in the West. Lets just stop with the faux playoff talk. It would be an embarrassment to the nba if this team made the playoffs when there’s 4 better teams at the bottom of the West. Even with that we aren’t beating Charlotte out anyways. No one on this roster should be safe.

If we need more than 3 players to be a good team (PG and some guys who can shoot well as you stated) we are garbage at our current state. Also we tend to pencil in BIG and just assume that’s some great young nucleus but the reality is we have little evidence suggesting that to be the case. Im the least optimistic I’ve been in the future of our team than I’ve ever been during this rebuild. I had more hope when we had Dipo, Harkless Harris, Vuch. I at least thought that core could be good (though probably never great). I am not convinced we have 1 sure thing on our team. We’ll see what happens and I’m obviously hoping for the best but I don’t see it. I see no light at the end of the tunnel right now. I think this roster gets blown up by the summer. Couple moves be the deadline aimed at the future than more in the summer. It’s time to take the trash out.

We lost because we aren’t a good team. Every game you can point to specifics as to why we lost that individual game but the reality is we’re pretty much garbage and have been for over half a decade now.

I love reading the comments after we lose. Literally the exact same things are said every single time and have been for years. I’m not saying what anyone is saying on here is wrong, it’s mostly right, just pointing out how little things have changed on this team for such a long time. Like you could go read a game thread from 2 years ago and you would hear the same thing. Vuch. We can’t shoot. Fournier. Our bench sucks. We can’t hold onto a lead. We have no toughness. Rinse, wash and repeat.

I never said or implied we should build around Bamba at any moment in time. I implied that when Bamba enters his 5th year in the league he will be a more valuable player to the team than AG is now. Please go back and Re-read.

I would say Davis is. If you take Davis off NO they’re probably a 10 win team. What’s our record with AG out? I know we’ve won a few games without him this year. His production isn’t irreplaceable.

You said who builds around big men in 2019 and I just gave an example. Never said Bamba was gonna be embid I was simply answering your question.

This is essentially what I meant. I guess to me a true franchise player is a guy you can have on a team and he instantly makes that team pretty good. Like a .500 or close to it team worse case. If you take that guy off the team they become the Hawks. If you take Gordon off our team how much would our record change? Very little.

That’s completely fair. I’m not saying he will be a franchise player Im just saying he will be a more valuable player than AG currently is when Bamba is in his 5th year. Ill go on record saying we don’t have a true franchise player on our roster. Which isn’t the end of the world a lot of teams don’t.

Also if any player is worth building around on this team it’s Bamba. When he is in his 5th year he will be far more valuable than AG currently is. Pin this post and we’ll review in 2024.

If Gordon is the franchise player it makes it truly easy to see how bad of shape this team is in now and in the near future. Gordon is not a franchise player and just because he is the best current youngish player on the team doesn’t mean we need to build the team around him. I get some of what you’re saying—were Orlando so franchise players don’t just come here—but that in no way means we build around a guy who has show nothing to make me think he will ever be a #1 option on a contending team let alone a true franchise player. Franchise players carry teams. Good teams (like Harden carrying Houston or Lebron carrying LA) even bad teams can get carried (Kemba carrying Charlotte or Davis in NO). Im not saying Gordon isn’t good but he’s alway struck me more as a third option on a contending team.

Vuch playing good all the sudden in a contract year when we draft a center to take his job should anger people about him. Just proves he was complacent and has coasted for years. Don’t wanna build a team around that. I’m good.

I’m not fans of theirs by any stretch of the imagination but I’ll give them through the summer before I totally bury them alive.

I haven’t watched a game for the longest stretch of my 28 years of existence. Still check the box scores and check in on here but I had enough almost 4 weeks ago. I won’t watch again until a roster move is made. It’s actually refreshing not putting yourself through it. Also, I’m probably in the minority which I’m ok with but I’m glad they lost and continue to lose. Not for tank reasons necessarily but more for roster changes. I mean just a week or so ago people are talking about resigning and building around Vuch. That’s what a faux playoff push will do to people. This team needs a major overhaul. If we were to have 4-5 more wins we would be far more likely to ride it out. No thanks. Drastic roster overhaul needs to ensue and no one should be safe for the right price.

Idk why this got downvoted. Reality is hard for some people to see I guess. I don’t think we have to trade Ross but since he’s probably our most appealing player (next to Vuch) it makes sense. Someone had a great comment in the game-thread about how the nets haven’t had a first round pick in a decade yet their rebuild went bettter than ours. I’m not pushing to tank. I am however pushing to trade what pieces we do have that might be able to net us good young talent or create a more flexible roster and let our lottery picks run the show more. If those guys can win us games great.

Really? I guess if you still center everything around Vuch than yea. Conley/Fournier/Ross/Gordon/Vuch could in theory be a .500 team with a couple players like DJ, Bamba and Issac off the bench. Going this route might make sense if you don’t think Gordon or Issac ever become true stars (I obviously don’t). I still think Bamba can be an all star at some point. Id still rather just get a younger PG. Also there’s no way we aren’t giving something up for Conley.

It’s a lot of money to pay a single player when the team around him won’t win over 40 games the next 2 years. It’s not my money so I don’t really care but just doesn’t seem like a smart move when we could take a shot on one of those Younger guys and hope they develop into something as good if not better and have them around for years longer. I wouldn’t be mad if we traded for Conley. I’ve loved him since his college days I just think there are better fitting options.

If we were close to a title push and Conley was the missing piece than by all means I’d be after him. He’s a good player. But for where we’re at I don’t get the timeline.

Is Conley at 28 mil desirable either way? 32 mil next year and 34 mil the year after? Hard pass. Doesn’t fix anything long term and he’s hurt a lot. This coming from an Ohio State fan too. Not to mention he’ll be 32 starting next season. Ball/Fultz/DSJ/Russ all make more sense to me

Hated that guy. He had a way about him. Legit wanted to meet up and fight the dude as pathetic as that sounds lol ...I was younger and dumber at that time too though.

    Magic vs. Nets - Friday, January 18 @ 7 :00 P.M.

Sounds like a product of a management team that thinks drafts flatten out after pick 22.
