What about Wilson Chandler?

With the Knicks talking about being okay with trading him what about a straight up swap?

 

Gortat for Chandler?

 

He fills a void in the teams starting lineup. He's a scoring,athletic and young 3 who is on a rookie contract and imo can/will blossom into a VERY good player.

 

He's only 23 years old and his biggest need for improvment is his 3 point shot.

 

Instead of trying to find an already proven player why not go for one that is about to break out? Wilson is exactly what this team needs, a scorer that doesn't rely on the 3.

 

EDIT: He's also improved his blocks/steals per game and is at nearly 1 block and 1 steal a game. So based off stats he doesn't seem to be that bad of a defender.

 

Anyone think this would be a good/fair trade?

@ Lewis, what about Gortat/Fran(Or 2nd) for Wilson? I really like the guys offensive game.

Knick's center right now is Turiaf, unless they want to play Amare or Randolph at Center. I have always like Chandler, but trading Gortat means we have no back up center.

We'd probably have to throw in a first i'd expect. I'd give them our 2011 pick because its going to be a weak draft. 2012 is the year we need to stockpile low picks if we can.

So yes, they do need a center. Especially because Amar'e does NOT want to play center and I don't think they really want to give Mozgov starting minutes.

Yeah, I just sent a "tweet" to alex kennedy and BQR to see if they've heard whether or not they are shopping Wilson and if Gortat/1st would be a good deal. I think he just fits here so well. This team needs a true scorer that can create for themselves. All while being young and cheap
