After watching the Rising Stars game, I agree with what you are saying. If our present team played against teams that had as little professional experience as we do, we would be super competitive, especially when you consider the fact that the few veterans on our team (5 years or more experience) are not going to ever be more than role players.

Agreed, but keep in mind that The Detroit and Chicago teams both had plenty of offense, so he didn't need to shoot. Heck, I remember the game in 1991 when he went off for 34 and 23, but he seldomed scored more than 10 to 12 points a game.

I would think so if it was a genuine "legit" player, but I'm not convinced that Mario has any team willing to do that unless the player was on an expiring contract, and that would make it a gamble. I'm probably in the minority on this board, but I'm not convinced that Mario's worth is as high as what others think it is.

On a lighter note, does anyone appreciate the irony of when Rajon Rondo was suspended for using a homophobic slur towards a ref, and the next night Rudy Gay started in his place?

Not sure if the stats prove this, but this year he seems to be very proficient driving to the hoop and scoring. Especially for a guy his size.

I can't imagine us ever playing a game against the Raptors where DeRozan and Lowry shoot a combined 9/39 and 2/11 from the 3 point line. I know it's only one game, but it was ours for the taking, and we let it get away.

I'm not in a panic mode because I am enjoying watching games this year versus turning it off at halftime as was the case the last few seasons. I totally agree that we should be thrilled to be a .500 team, but our record in December lead me to believe that we are better than we really are. If you look at who we beat, it brings me back to reality. It's just frustrating to watch a game like this one, and see the multiple opportunities to win it, but not able to make it happen. Right now we are a .500 team at best, and hopefully you are right and I will be proven wrong by the end of the season.
