2016-2017 Season Discussion Thread
Voodoo Man replied to Fultz4thewin's topic in Orlando Magic Forum
This article could be fatal for fans with high blood pressure. If Rich DeVos reads this, I hope he has a doctor on standby. -
Yes. I will agree with you that PT helps a player mentally and physically, but when I was playing, if I was not producing up to my capabilities, I was benched. Bottom line right now is this entire team is in a total funk, and I believe that everyone on here has a right to their opinion as to how to fix it. Our current coach is the closest thing we've had here to be a respected and qualified coach since SVG. I value his opinion and ability to fix this mess more so than anybody on this forum. Unfortunately it looks like our GM is wanting him to turn s*** into shinola.

Shooters like him need rhythm? He was drafted for his shooting. He's a lottery pick, the dude plays like a walk on.
-
I'm not drunk dude. What I'm trying to get across to you is this dude was drafted for his shooting ability, but most of us expected him to be able to dribble and take care of the ball like a professional basketball player. If not, then he sure as hell better be a marksman from the court, which he's not. Your rose colored glasses are preventing you to see what the rest of us see.
-
I can't take this any longer. I was all in for Mario when we drafted him, but there was always one thing that made me apprehensive. He was not getting major minutes in the league he was playing in the last season and word was it was because he was going to leave them for the NBA, but his performance was not as impressive when he did play as his reputation was. He sucked last year, and he sucks this year. He's young, and hopefully he proves me wrong, but I have been watching NBA basketball since the 1960's and so far the kid looks like a bust. Prove me wrong Mario. If you can't dribble the friggin ball, you better be able to hit every open shot you get or get used to riding the pine.

Makes sense to me. The coach is paid to win games. Green is not supposed to be a starter for this team, but he deserves to. The starters have put this team into a deep hole that we have not been able to overcome. I agree that Gordon is our future, but Vogel realizes that he needs to play the the guys who give us the best chance to win games now.
-
The Wolves are better than their record. Wiggins ,Townes, Levine and Dieng are a darn good nucleus. We are a garbage team.
-
I really like this Wolves team. They have a great future ahead of them.
-
I would take that chance to get one of the best players in the NBA, but it's a moot point because we don't have the trade chips to make it happen.
-
Kind of, but we can't ignore the fact that the combined records of the three teams we beat is 3-14.

GAME THREAD: SACRAMENTO KINGS @ ORLANDO MAGIC
Voodoo Man replied to The Neighborhood Bully's topic in Orlando Magic Forum
Cousins has been one of my favorite players for a while now, but I know that at least half the folks on here have expressed their opinions that he would be a negative influence on this team. It would sure make watching this team less painful to me, but I'm not much of a Magic Kingdom fan anymore I guess. -
I will be watching baseball soon. This is hurting my eyes.
-
I think one of these teams is playing the worst team in the league. I'm just not sure which one that is.
-
This reminds me of watching two lousy college teams play.

Great. I will be able to watch the games on my big screen. Can be easily done with a smart tv or chromecast. -
That's a fact. Think about it. How long ago was it that this team signed a STAR free agent? Henny did a great job getting this team to the point where we could afford a big time free agent, only to find out that cap space means nothing if you're a small market team that has been sub .500 for several years, and consists of several young players who are all borderline starters on a playoff caliber team. Hopefully two or three of our young guns turn into the players we hope they do so that we can eventually attract the Durant-like player we need.
-
I see you are from Tampa. I live in Clearwater. Please cross the Causeway and bring whatever you are smoking with you. I can't find anything that potent over here.
-
I hate to admit it because he was the player I wanted us to draft, but aside from his 3 point shooting, I didn't see much that impressed me last year. In fact, I was shocked at how poor of a ball handler he was. Hopefully it was just youth and nervousness on his part. I really hope he becomes the player that I was expecting him to be. I'm done. I will throw no more stones.
-
I am referring to the upcoming season.
-
I understand that everybody is overpaid now, but when the season opens I would be willing to bet that any player who is taking up 20% of any teams cap space will be starting. Name one who won't. Keep in mind that Gilbert is not in the league anymore.
-
You think that we pay a guy 20% of our cap space to sit on the bench? He starts or there is another trade brewing.
-
Are you referring to the GMs at Atlanta and Boston, because if so, you are correct.
-
You do realize that no free agent of legitimacy would even consider an interview with us this year, right? We signed Ibaka which seemed to excite some hometown fans, but it apparently didn't impress anybody else. Dwight isn't going to scare anybody away because we are not on their list to begin with. Besides, I look for Boston to sign him and pay him either 4/90 or possibly 3/75. I also see Dwight having a turn around season because he won't have to play with the biggest ball hog in the NBA.
-
Please continue.

Everybody on here has complained about our home crowds sitting on their butts and not making noise. When we go to games we are constantly told to sit down during a game. He was not referring to us. He was referring to the majority of the folks who attend our home games, and yes, they do suck. Also, the Magic have been a losing team ever since he got here and he is going to one of the best teams in the league. Before the trade Vegas odds had them at 10-1 to win the ship next year. After the trade it is now 6-1. The guy is living a dream.
